Hi! I'm Eve, an author and encourager who loves words and The Word. I am a daughter of the King who believes in God's great Love and His desire to draw us near Him.

I love to take long walks through the garden of God's creation with the Master Gardener and find the little blessings He leaves for us. It is my prayer that you will, too.

My favorite things are playing board games with the Fam, singing sweet tunes of inspiration, writing, and helping others find freedom in Christ as they realize He loves them. My passion includes helping the next generation find Jesus as we encourage them that they were made for such a time as this.

May we all bloom where we are planted!

"As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace;the mountains and hills will burst into song before you,and all the trees of the field will clap their hands."

Isaiah 55:10-12

Revealed Truth follows teenaged Maddie Ruth Bennett as she struggles with fear and anxiety after her father is called on for a secret government mission involving national danger. In the midst of uncertainty, Maddie embarks on her journey of faith, learning to trust God and find courage—with the support of those around her. A story of spiritual growth, highlighting themes of faith over fear, strong family bonds, and coming of age during crisis.

What a multi-layered and rich novel! The story touched on many topics yet still feels natural and organic.

Maddie is a seeker.
I loved how the characters at church don't have all the answers, but are trying their best. Maddie experiences two completely different types of Christian churches and worship styles, Gram’s was old-fashioned and traditional, and another more contemporary megachurch. The author demonstrated that both of these types of worship are legitimate, and the message that God has a place for everyone touched my heart.

And the regional flavor! Wonderful.

Maddie has her Grammy to depend on, and Gram is a fun character to read, a strong woman of faith from Tennessee, full of common sense, and always pointing towards Jesus. “Finer than frog hair” may be one of my new sayings! Grammy's faith and her simple way of conveying biblical truths to Maddie as the teen is struggling to work out things was so spot-on and full of gentle wisdom.

The common issue of anxiety is examined from both the teenage daughter’s experience and her father’s. Besides this, the mystery related to her dad’s job had me looking for clues. All of these elements (plus a few more) work together seamlessly.

My favorite thing in this novel was how authentic and organic it felt, while at the same time not shying away from hard topics and delving into spiritual truths.

Deals with serious issues of a parent’s alcoholism and drug overdose. Attempted suicide.
Note: Written from a certain theological standpoint on end times, though this is not a main focus of the book.

Just as with Eve Harrell's prior novel, "Revealed Truth," I am completely in; with the story, the pace, everything. The tower imagery is strong and powerful, especially for the events of the novel and in our own world. Her main character, Maddie, conjures memories of many students I've had the privilege to teach. Nearly all of Harrell's characters, whether virtuous, villainous, or in between, are almost familiar, as if saying, "Oh, yes, I think I've met that person," which lends them authenticity. Her dialogue is well-crafted, and it rings true to the scenarios presented. I tend to avoid Christian fiction that seems contrived, where every few pages, the story pauses for an obligatory scripture insertion. However, Harrell weaves the Gospel into her narrative seamlessly and with clarity. She skillfully tailors the expression of faith to fit each character, clearly aware of the distinct ways teens and adults live and express their beliefs. This nuance is something that truly works for me! If you haven't yet read her first book, I suggest you do so promptly, allowing you to proceed to this one and join us in eager anticipation of more to come.

I find myself saying wow at the end of each of these books. This is the second book in this series and it’s so powerful. It picked right up where the first book ended which I appreciate. The author is very talented. She weaves in Bible verses, prayers and questions to think about so effortlessly. It’s pretty amazing. The character development from the first book and the beginning of this book to the end of this book is big. These are real and relatable characters living in times that are so relevant to ours. I think that’s one of the reasons these are some of my favorite books. This author has really impressed me and I can’t wait to start the third book. I’ve already read part of the 4th book and got spoiled. But now I have the third book so I'm ready to start that. These books are definitely best read in order but they can be standalones. There is a lot of Bible and Jesus in this book but not in a preachy way at all. I love the first two so much. You just need to read them.

I am really enjoying reading this book following the first book, which released last summer. I find myself wanting to find out what happens next and I enjoy seeing the family members help each other realize how to grow in their individual walk with the Lord.
