Also included in this book are several extra scenes from the Blind Rebels series.
Blurring the Lines is a novella meant for adult audiences. Content includes strong language, explicit sexual scenes, cheating, mention of drug and alcohol use, mention of overdose leading to death, and other mature situations.
Amy Kaybach has been writing since she learned to hold a pencil at three. When she’s not daydreaming about sexy rock stars and how to put them into print, she’s working in IT or planning her next great adventure with her best friend since junior high. She lives on the central coast of California with her two obnoxious, but well-loved beagles. As a motorsports fan she loves her cars loud and fast and as a music lover she her music hard and loud.
Having been sent this book as an ARC but not having read the original series, I decided to read the first four books before reading this one. I am so glad I did! It's not often that I find a series filled with emotional depth as deep as this series (please go and see my reviews of the other four books!).
This novella not only serves as a prequel to the Blind Rebel series but also enriches the series with additional chapters. The prequel, a quick read, delves into the history of the band in the months leading up to a pivotal fight. While it doesn't offer extensive character development or story building, it's a valuable addition for those who have already delved into the Blind Rebels series.
The second part of the book is the additional chapters and oh are they good. I wasn't shy at admitting that I practically sobbed through the series; the emotional journey the author took us through was phenomenally written, with unexpected twists, intense love interests, and character-building beyond expectations. These additional chapters added so much to the characters and their stories. We got to see what was going on from the other characters ' POVs at various times and what they were up to in the future.
As a wrap-up to the series, this book is a must-read. It's a delightful revisit to the characters, complete with updates that will tug at your heartstrings. I'm eagerly anticipating the author's next work, given the emotional journey she's taken us on in the Blind Rebel series.
This story is a different experience than I was used to in the romance book world. When I started reading, I had a very different feeling about the characters, specifically the FMC. But what I realized is that I was supposed to have those feelings. This story is a prequel to the Blind Rebels series. While the Blurring the Lines portion of this book can be read before you read the books in the Blind Rebels series, it definitely is understood best when you have the entire picture.
As for the other parts of this book, the “Extras”, you definitely need to read the Blind Rebels series before those. They are additional chapters to each of the stories and will not make sense without reading those stories. These extra chapters add to the other stories and are a great bonus.
This is not a book that wraps everything in a nice little bow and they walk off into the sunset. But that’s only because it is the prequel that sets the other stories. This is a great novella to read if you want to test the waters of the Blind Rebels series. If you haven’t started the Blind Rebels series, this will peak your interest and convince you to start reading. If you have already read them, this is a great look into the time before. And the extras are great to come back to after you read the series.
Wow! This side is Rockstar life is hard. This is definitely a look at the hard side of being a Rockstar and who that attracts and what it does to you. What a start to the Blind Rebels. Amy this story the band wanted you to tell wow!
It’s a roller coaster of read as you see the plan Becka has for Maverick. But is he the only band member he is after? Read to see…
This prequel was amazing. It showed us what happened before the blind rebels series and so much made more sense. It really shows how much the band actually grows throughout the series and it makes it so much better.
BOOK REVIEW: Blurring The Lines By Amy Kaybach Five Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Part One: Blurring The Lines, The Blind Rebels Prequel Novella:
Okay wow! Callum was definitely wild back then I'm not sure I like Becka she seems real shitty from just her first chapter! She also seems delusional thinking she's a true love to a rockstar. Man Callums chapter about why uses was rough... But he has sharp instincts when it comes to Becka... Ahhhhhh Becka doing this for a song to be written about her!!! And poor Mav not noticing it and just falling for her... makes me angry! Holy crap... their biggest fear about Callum oding... that pain poor Sammy felt at that moment.... but that bitch Becka... gosh I freaking hate her... thinking what she thought while Callum was oding.... gosh Becka is really annoying.. one thing I will say is I love seeing how much each guy grew from this prequel to their individual books! Mav never wanting kids, Callum doing stupid shit, Killian sleeping around, and Sammy growing more into himself in general. It's Refreshing to characters make huge strides in bettering themselves. Wow... Becka is the biggest b!tch out there! Doing all this BS just for songs to be written about her!?! Ruining the band the way she did.... horrible!
Part Two: Blind Rebels Extras:
Kady's Words - From Bridging the Silence: Awww seeing each of their reactions to Kady talking is absolutely Beautiful!!! Super feels!!!
OG Chapter 1 of Blending Chords-Callum: Wow you really feel the emotions from everyone in this chapter.
Gibson's Kidnapping from Killian's POV: Wow... Killians POV is rough to read, those scenes in the actual book was hard and now understanding Killian and Callums connection, it's crazy to read Killians feeling and that he felt Gibson as well!
Sevenya's Death - Sammy's POV: Holy crap that was a rough freaking chapter.... that's all...
Meeting Killy-in (Harmony’s POV): Awww poor Harmony... her POV of meeting Killian pulled at your heart. She has so much love for Miss Shelly but also wants her real daddy and felt like she wasn't enough for Killian...
The V (Sammy's POV): Just Oh My Gosh!!! Such a Sammy Chapter!!!
The Last Angel (POVs: Killian, Harmony, Vi): Poor Killian, Poor Vi, Poor Harmony... the pain that Killian feels for not being there for Vi is hard. Then Poor Harmony being scared of being sent back.... but what a sweet thing Harmony made.
Blurring the Lines & Extras (The Blind Rebels Series) by Amy Kaybach - Review by Jessica Stone
So this book is a novella/prequel for the blind rebel series and it has two parts. It's really interesting to be able to go back after reading the first few books in the series and to see what happened before the events of those books.
If you like drugs, sex and rock n roll then this story is for you. It follows each member of the rebels and Becka and how she met Mav. Each chapter is from a different perspective which I enjoy reading a lot to gain the insight into these different character and the first part really focuses on Becka and her trauma and need and Mav and all the craziness going on in his life. You get to see the instant connection between them and their relationship form. I really enjoy how unhinged Becka is if I'm going to be honest, maybe not the healthiest ways of coping are utilized by her and she's a wee bit of a nut case but I'm always routing for a girl who knows what she wants and goes for it. The second half focuses on everyone else in the band a bit more, introducing them a bit more than the snippets you get in the first half.
I enjoyed the writing style and the bouncing around to different characters I believe it kept this read at a fast pace while still divulging the information it needed to while touching on some hard subjects without being to subjective which is sometimes hard to do when touching on drugs and addiction, alcoholism and other such topics. While I would highly recommend this read, especially if you are going to read The Blind Rebels series I would suggest double checking your trigger warns before starting, otherwise I would say dive right in and enjoy, I definitely did. There are a few bonus chapters at the end of the novella which are from the other books, I feel like this book could be read before the series if you chose, I don't feel like you would be lost if so but I also think that reading the other books and then coming back to this one really brings things full circle.
Blurring the Lines & Extras, The Blind Rebels Series, Amy Kaybach, Review, Itsy Bitsy Book Bits, Contemporary Romance, Jessica Stone, July 2024
This was a great collection including the Blurring the Lines, the prequel to the Blind Rebels series, along with other bonus chapters from the series from various people points of view. It was really great being back with the band!!
In Blurring the Lines we get the events that caused the band to break up originally. I would have liked it to go a bit further – there is still room for another prequel! Mav – the lead singer – falls in love and Callum – the guitarist – is undertaking destructive behaviour and Killan and Sammy were trying to hold everything together. It was great to see the guys looking out for each other and it was fun being on tour with them. I really enjoyed reading Blurring the Linds after I had read the series as I know and love all the characters, but it could easily be read as a stand-alone or prior to reading the series.
That said, the other bonus chapters really need to be read after reading the series (or at least the book the point of view comes from). Some of these bonus chapters have been previously published and some I hadn't read before. I really enjoyed having events from different points of view. The ones that stood out for me were: * Gibson's kidnapping from Killian's point of view - it was really great to see how this impacted Killian and why he behaved the way he did during the original story. Killen has so much love for his nephew Gibson. * Meeting Killy-in from Harmony's point of view - Harmony is such a sweet girl and it was great to see how she could feel what Killian was feeling and her thought process. * The Last Angel from Killian, Harmony and Vi's point of view - this one made me cry. Losing the baby had such an impact on all 3 of them and their points of view were really emotional. This also showed such a caring side of Killian * The Blind Rebel's interview - if Blurring the Lines was the prequal - this chapter was the epilogue - so great to see how far the band had come.
In reading my favouite bonus scenes it would look like Killian is my favourite band-member. I actually didn't realise this - but really enjoyed how he was portrayed in these bonus chapters.
Blurring the Lines & Extras is a prequel novella with some extra tidbits for the Blind Rebels series, all wrapped into one tidy little package. This book does contain spoilers for the Blind Rebels series, so if spoilers bother you, I recommend either reading the series first or stopping after Blurring the Lines and waiting to read the extras until after you’ve finished the Blind Rebels series.
As a huge fan of the Blind Rebels series, I’d often wondered exactly how the events played out that led up to the Rebels’ hiatus. I knew it had to do with Mavrick, Callum, and Mavrick’s fiancee Becka, but I wasn’t sure how it had all played out. Now I know.
I’m going to be honest, I dislike Becka even more now than I did before. While there were times I could relate to her, she really got under my skin most of the time. I had a hard time understanding what Mav saw in her to be honest.
Blurring the Lines was very well written and relieves the itch of wanting to know what happened before the events of Bridging the Silence took place. Now… about those extras!
The extras are the parts that will be spoilers for the Blind Rebels series. Like I said above, if you want to avoid spoilers, I recommend reading the series first or just reading Blurring the Lines and leaving the extras until later. The extras include events from other perspectives, events that don’t actually appear in the books, and in some cases, things that happened after the series was over. You’ll get to see some beloved characters dealing with things in new ways or just dealing with new experiences.
I gave Blurring the Lines & Extras a solid five stars because it perfectly starts off the series and gives so much more to the series! I can’t wait to read the next series.
This is a two-part story of the series The Blind Rebels. This book is a novella that introduces you to what happened before the series begins. This book series follows the story of the behind-the-scenes of the band Blind Rebels. There are four members in the band: Mav; Callum; Killian; and Sammy. While you are introduced to each member, part one of the book really revolves around Mav, Callum, and Mav’s girlfriend, Becka. Becka is a basket case (who hides it well) who is after fame in any way she can find it. When things didn’t work out with a guy from another band, she quickly fell into the arms of Mav. This story is told from the perspective of each character and you learn a lot about the inner workings of the storyline. I don’t want to give anything away but there are secrets and craziness that take place, mainly due to Becka’s instability. Part two of the book starts to introduce you to the three other books in the series. Now, if you have not read the series you may feel a little lost, as I did. However, they are giving you bits and pieces of the other books to introduce a timeline. As for a book, if you like sex, drugs, and rock & roll, with a side of crazy this is the story for you. While I thought the storyline was fine and I was interested in seeing where this was going, I never felt attached to the characters. It wasn’t that they were not interesting or good characters, but they didn’t do much for me. There is a part of me that wants to hear the other’s stories so I may go back and read them at some point. Lastly, read your trigger warnings.
Blurring the Lines & Extras was an interesting story. I enjoyed it to an extent, though like Callum I’m not a fan of the main female character. The author gives a story of a woman’s need to be famous and need for attention. Becka is determined to bag a rock star. Have the focus be on her and have a song written about her. Unfortunately Dom isn’t the man she thought he was, but it lands her in the lap of Maverick. When he invites her on tour, how can she resist? But one problem she has in her head is that she needs to do all this. But also needs to love the band but have each one love her back. Maverick is at odds with Callum which is why he ends up right in. The arms of Becka. Becka becomes his world outside of his band Blind Rebels, but just one problem, nothing is ever easy. He has a band member who is going off the rails who has a death wish. A best friend he doesn’t know how to help, but wants to in the worst way. When Becka gets involved she makes it so Cal can’t resist her. Not taking into account how that will impact him. Will Maverick find out? Will Cal be the one to spill the beans about Becka? Or will Becka truly come clean herself? Will Cal succeed in moving on from life? Those questions and so many more. Go into this story with an open heart. I don’t care for Becka’s game so I was rooting for Cal to blow it all up. Who will you get behind?
This is the book we didn't know we needed, the last published in the Blind Rebels series. It is titled as a prequel and can be read as such but honestly I feel it's a much better read after you have read the first 4 books. The first part of the book gives us a better insight into Becka, a character who appears mostly in Book 1, Mavrick's story and also in In Book 2 Cal's story. She is ultimately the cause of a huge breach in the band's relationship and that story is explored in more detail here. Seeing inside Becka's head, and how skewed her thinking was is scary and leaves you wondering what has left her needing attention and love so badly. The second part of this book revisits parts of the first 4 books and at times will tear your heart from your body. We revisit the empath that Killian, Callum, Sammy and Harmony share and it is amazing. Chapter 37 wrecked me, how much more can Sammy and Killian bear. The Last Angel, Chapt 40, OMG I may never breathe again. Bring tissues, lot's of tissues. This is the culmination of a series that I honestly don't have enough words to tell you how good it is. Amy writes her characters so beautifully they will never leave your hearts. If you don't believe me, please grab this series and see for yourself, you will never want to leave the Blind Rebel's world.
Blurring the Lines is a prequel to the Blind Rebels series, with some extra content such as scenes from the later books from different perspectives. I haven’t read the Blind Rebels series yet and found that Blurring the Lines itself is perfectly enjoyable to read on its own (and to get a taste of the style and characters before committing to the series) but the extras make less sense out of context and could be a bit spoilery. So I’d recommend either reading Blind Rebels first or reading Blurring the Lines followed by Blind Rebels, then coming back to the extras later.
Blurring the Lines is a story of the rock & roll lifestyle taken to the extremes. Multiple characters seem to be on a self-destructive trajectory and with changing perspectives in the narrative we don’t totally know what’s going on in their heads. I’m keen now to read more of the series to learn how the characters cope in the aftermath of this story.
I particularly like Sammy, who is really doing his best to keep everyone as ok as they can be. I hope we learn more about him in the other books!
This book gets four stars from me. I’d recommend it to readers who like dark, emotional stories and are interested in the music industry.
Blurring the Lines & Extras is a prequel novella to the Blind Rebels series by Amy Kaybach. It is a gritty, emotional, angsty, steamy, and dramatic story- and definitely not your usual rock star romance. There are a few trigger topics covered or mentioned through the book, so if you have any concerns, I advise you to read the TWs before diving into the story (cheating, drug & alcohol use/abuse, mentions overdose leading to death, etc). I had not read the series before diving into this book- but now wish that I had as the ‘Extras’ part especially would have been better, more impactful, if I had read the other books first. So, perhaps that has played a part in me not being able to fully connect with, or invest in, the MCs and the outcome of their story. I also found the story a bit slow to get going, but then it felt rushed in other parts. But again, maybe that is because I had not read the other books first- so I will probably need to go back to read the series- then see if that makes a difference to my understanding and appreciation of this book- and my rating. Stay tuned. Happy Reading…
This is a novella the explains what lead up to the fight and the break up of the rock group The Blind Rebels. As I haven't read any of the other books in the series it felt a little strange reading this one first. However it was enjoyable and a points a really moving story. This story is told from the view of different members of the band along with Becka. This was great for me because it gave me an insight into each member of the group and the issues they face. As the story progresses with the issues the band face such as drug/alcohol abuse, addiction, love and betrayal it's not wonder it lead to a fight that separated the band. One thing I will say is I didn't like Becka's character. I'm not sure if she features or gets better in the series but in this book she doesn't come across as a nice person. All she wants is a rockstar boyfriend and even when Maverick falls completely for her that doesn't stop her from looking for something better which I didn't like. She was seemed never satisfied. Overall I did enjoy this book, however I am definitely going to read the books in the series as I feel it will give me a better appreciation for this book and the characters stories.
I read this novella without reading any of the Blind Rebels series. I enjoyed this novella. I was entertained by the world of rock n roll. I haven’t previously read stories about rock stars. I’m glad I started with the Blind Rebels. It was captivating to learn about the bands and the lives they live off stage. I loved the Blind Rebels band members and their dynamic. They seem like a lot of fun to hang around. I liked Maverick’s character the most. He is gentleman like, honest, and noble. I found myself despising Becka’s character, though. I found her to be manipulative and untrustworthy, and I felt bad for the way she treated Maverick. The romance scenes between the two, however, were steamy and exciting. The extra chapters left me wanting to read the rest of the Blind Rebels series. I’m sure they add clarity to the series. For me, they were a bit confusing. I felt as though I really should have read the rest of the series before reading them. Overall, I recommend this novella to readers who have read the rest of the series or readers wanting to start the series. I can’t wait to dive into the rest of the Blind Rebels stories!
Blurring the Lines & Extras (The Blind Rebels Series) by Amy Kaybach. This is the novella that explains what happens before the series begins. Its mainly focused on the behind the scenes of the band The Blind Rebels. Becka is determined to get with a rock star and have him love her and write a song about her. She originally thought she was supposed to be with Dominik from Diminished Capacity but learns really quick that he's not he one for her. Then she meets Mav from The Blind Rebels. Mav falls quite quickly in love with Becka and takes her on the road on tour with the band. Maverick is the lead singer of the band and Callum their guitarist is on the path to destruction. Mav is very concerned about Callum not only for the band's sake but for his life. Becka and Callum have their own chemistry so while Mav thinks Becka is the one for him Becka is always looking for the next rock star. I loved this book and the characters. Becka was not my favorite but I felt like I've met several women like her. Read this great book to find out what happens in the rock star world.
Blurring the lines by Amy Kaybach is my first read by this author and she delivered! Sometimes when you pick up a book and it’s a prequel…you’re a little Leary if it’s contents but Amy totally rocked it with this prequel! Amy gave us warning about some of the content and what to expect and honestly…I feel like every author should do this, especially when we are starting a series. We are introduced to Mac, Callum and Becka and their points of view, and quite frankly…I love it when a book is told from multiple points of view, it gives more to the story being told. With every page and chapter, we are able to follow characters allowing to be able to dig a little deeper into each personality. The development of the characters and their role on the story felt like it all pulled together naturally and we weren’t left feeling like something was missing. I am really excited to start pick up the next books in the series and see what else Amy has created with the Blind Rebels series! Happy Reading!
While I did enjoy this book I have not read the series yet. I am definitely intrigued and want to read the series so it has been added to my to be read list. Blurring the Lines follows the true beginning of what happened before the band broke up. Even though they are one of the biggest bands in the world, sell millions of records, and sell out concerts they are all barely hanging on. Callum feels like he is the only one that cares and he is tired. The touring is getting to him as well so he turns to drugs for an escape. His best friend, Maverick who is also the lead singer, is worried about the path he has chosen. Killian has his own family drama going on while Sammy tries to keep everyone together. He can only do so much though and it is inevitable that things need to end. Becca is trying to get out of Chicago and aspires to have songs written about her. She doesn't care which rockstar it is as long as she becomes immortalized in a song. I look forward to reading the series.
This is an enjoyable and engaging novella which acts as both a prequel to the series and provides extra scenes. It is written for adult readers due to the mature content. Blind Rebels are the most popular rock band in the world, with platinum albums and sell out concerts. To the onlooker the members of the band have it all, however, behind the scenes they are falling apart. Mavrick Slater is the lead singer and he is worried that guitarist Callum is on a path of self-destruction. Callum knows his best friend is concerned for him but he’s tired. He’s tired of the constant touring and of being the one who cares and so he uses drugs to give him an escape. Meanwhile, living a dismal life in Chicago is Becka. She wants a new start preferably in the arms of a rock star, and to have songs written about her. Having read this prequel and been introduced to the main characters, and felt immersed in the bands world, I am keen to start reading the Blind Rebels series.
5 Stars Blurring the Lines & Extras (The Blind Rebels Series) by Amy Kaybach
Blurring the Lines & Extras ( The Blind Series) is the prequel and gives a little glimpse into the band and the characters. This is a fast paced story that once you start reading there’s no stopping until you’ve finished. I read this story in one afternoon. The characters are developed, creative and complex as they make the story come to life. This is Becka, Mav and Cal's story. Becka wants out of her life in Chicago and wants songs written about her by a Rock star and it doesn’t matter which one. Mav and Cal are part of the Blind Rebels and there is definitely tension between them. Cal is on a self destruction mission and isn’t wanting to talk about with anyone. Mav is worried about Cal. This story has some dark areas. .I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I don’t want to give anything away.i look forward to reading more from this Author.
I don’t usually read prequels or sequels, and I hate cliffhangers more than liver. That being said, I haven’t been able to put this book down. Callum is a hot mess, out of control and has gone off the rails by being with Becka for weeks and now she’s engaged to Mav. The fallout from his actions are going to be epic, I’m almost afraid to read it but I can’t stop. Mav is so in love with Becka he’s blind to everything except how beautiful she is and how she makes him feel. Becka, for lack of a better word is crazy. Not like she’s crazy to hang with. No she’s crazy and on meds and her plans for these two men are chilling. The really crazy part of her is that she can be so sweet and supportive, loving even. Every part of this book and every point of view is awesome. Mav, Callum, Killian and Sammy’s story is very good and I loved reading things I missed. I’m giving this book five stars and highly recommend it.
I enjoyed reading this romance story. I enjoyed this author’s writing style that made her characters come to life. I found this book to be well written and has some darker themes to it. It is a story about Becka and how she wants out of the life she has and just wants songs written about her. Then you have the Blind Rebels that look like they have it all together but behind the scenes they are barely hanging on. What happens when this group meets and what happens after is something you don’t want to miss. The characters are connectable and add so much to the story. I enjoyed watching their growth and the steam they bring to the story is great. This is a fast paced, hard to put down story that is entertaining to read. I really enjoyed this story and I look forward to seeing what is next for this author. I highly recommend this book.
This is the first book I have read by this author and in this series, but with it being a prequel I figured it was a great place to start! It feels like a cool rockstar romance, and the author warned me that it contains spoilers and I read on anyways. I love it when a book is told from multiple points of view, so this was right up my alley as we followed Mavrick, Callum, and Becka’s stories. Each chapter following one of the three characters allows me to dig a little deeper into each personality. The development of the characters and the plot felt natural and unfolded at a wonderful pace. Don’t forget to read the content warnings that the author so graciously provided for you. I appreciate that they want people to know what they’re getting into to an extent. I am very excited to start picking up the next books in the series and see what this author has created with the Blind Rebels!
We pop in with the band to get a view of the events leading to the meltdown, and breakup, of The Blind Rebels. We witness Maverick as he falls in love, Callum as he spirals deep into drug and alcohol abuse, Killian as he tries to keep his twin alive, and Sammy as he strives to hold them all together. It's a view of the ugly side of being a star and being in the eye and in the target of so many. People want them for their fame, their money, and anything else they can get out of them. They are all exhausted, worn thin, and trying to find ways to cope with the side effects of their dreams coming true.
I haven't read the series yet, so the extras felt a little out of my scope of understanding, but I'm looking forward to reading them and getting to know the characters better.
Make sure to read the authors warning before you read this book. Blurring the Lines: & Extras is a novella and the sequel to Blind Rebels Series. This is how the rock band, The Blind Rebels started. Also, bonus! We get several extra scenes from the Blind Rebels series. Being a famous rock band is hard and comes with what people think of as perks but what you don’t always see is the gritty, raw, and debilitating consequences of said fame. Everything and anything you want, you got it. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose and losing will cost you everything. Amy sure knows her rock bands and her writing evokes strong emotional senses. Talk about roller coaster. She brings complex characters to life. For anyone who loves rockstar stories but his isn’t your typical rockstar story.
Becka thought she was destined to be with Dominik from Diminished Capacity but come to find out he’s out for whatever woman he can get. That’s until she realizes he wants nothing to truly do with her, that’s when she meets Mav from Blind Rebels. Instead of just leaving her backstage Mav decides to bring her along on the rode if she wants to go. Becka is set to make a rock star hers or have a song written about her she doesn’t care how it happens or who she hurts along the way. She has been on tour with the guys for awhile now and she has had Mav fall in love with her. Mav has decided that he feels Becka is the girl for him. All of the guys in the band seem happy for them except Callum as things between him and Becka have been heating up. So what will happen when things are brought out?
I have not read any of the earlier books about Blind Rebels so I wasn't sure what to expect, but figured it would be okay since this is a prequel of the series. Had no opinions on anyone, but that quickly changed with Becka. That girl is unhinged.
Mav, Cal, Kill and Sam go through their ups and downs as most bands do and appear to come out stronger than before. I'll find out for sure once I read this series.
While reading the extras it gave me a glimpse of what is to come for me and maybe a few spoilers, but that is more than okay. I will definitely read that section again after I have read the series. Might have to give up sleep to do it but that's okay.
This book is a prequel to books that have already been written, and also included extra scenes that fall into other books. It’s a rockstar novel that I wouldn’t quite call a romance, but definitely had a FMC and several male characters. The FMC was determined to have a song written about her, and was willing to con any musician she could to get there. I’m not 100% sure what I thought about it, except I wanted to hug Mavrick and protect him from the FMC at all costs. I think I’d have liked it more had I read the other books first. At the same time, now I’m intrigued and want to read them and see what happens!
All I wanted since I read the Blind Rebels series was to know more of their story and this book delivers! The prequel tells of the events leading up to the famed blowout breakup of the band, and this will have you screaming through the book at some of the characters. The story evokes so much emotion over the band we grew to love so much. The extras in this book are just the icing on the cake, giving us all the tidbits from throughout the series, elaborating on some of our favorite storylines. This book gave us our fill of the Blind Rebels that we'd been missing, although I wouldn't be sad to read even more about them in the future!
Blurring the Lines if the prequel story to the main series, and gives the reader a glimpse into the events that lead to the first story. This is the first book that I have read by this author and it was a great way to become familiar with her work and these characters. I really enjoyed getting to know them in this backstory and it has definitely left me wanting to know more. I enjoyed the writing style of the author. It was easy to be pulled into the pace of the story and become invested in what was happening. I already know that I will enjoy getting to see more about this characters and I am really glad to have picked up this book.
