The last thing she'd expected was to see her husband back in town.
He'd wanted to start a family. Jill wanted to wait. Just for a while, while she established her medical practice in this small town. But in the midst of that uncertainty, he'd simply walked out. Or was it really that simple?
Forgiveness is hard. But perhaps, still harboring unspoken hope for a second chance, neither filed for divorce. Yet.
Now he's back in town, with an unknown enemy whose threats are escalating against them both.
And then one night changes everything...

**PLEASE NOTE** None of my books ever end with "cliff hangers." Each is a complete story by itself. However, there are three titles within this Northern Pines Suspense series that do have a closer relationship, and reading them in this order would be more logical as far as a few plot details are DANGEROUS MOVE DANGEROUS SECRETS DANGEROUS INTENT
I just discovered two errors regarding the names of children in Dangerous Intent. If you purchased it after July 15th, it is revised and corrected. But if you purchased it prior to July 15, 2024, you can easily get the newest version free by going to your Kindle Content on Amazon, and clicking on the title for the update. Many apologies for any confusion. My face is red!
Roxanne is a USA Today Bestselling, award-winning author of forty romantic suspense, mystery, and heart-warming, emotionally charged relationship novels in the clean & wholesome, as well as inspirational romance genres.
She got her first horse at the tender age of six and grew up riding bareback with wild abandon throughout her small Minnesota town year-round. It was like giving a child car keys!
She showed horses for many years, and later, she and her husband raised quarter horses and thoroughbreds until their kids came along.
She's living her childhood dream, living on an acreage in the country with her husband, three horses (all beloved elderly pasture ornaments, now), a golden retriever, a Mountain Cur rescue, and six fluffy barn cats. It's a much smaller menagerie than when their three kids were still at home!
Ranches, animals, and small-town life frequently find their way into her books.
I really like when there's a sub-plot about a different set of characters, so enjoyed including both Ross and Grace's stories. I was unhappy with the sudden shift that resolved Grace's story. I also thought the main plot resolution was very abrupt for the significant issues that plagued Jill and Grant's relationship/ separation.
Dangerous Secrets by Roxanne Rustand Northern Pines Suspense Series Book Three Dr. Jill Edwards has her dream house, a huge Victorian. Only it’s big and lonely these days. After she finally confronts her husband at one of the times he comes home in the early morning hours…he packs up and leaves without talking. Now, it’s just her, Badger, her cat, and the old house’s eerie noises. And very lonely. Grant Edwards works for his father’s law firm. Now that Dad has had a couple of heart attacks, he’s going between the two offices. The one in Blackberry Hill is where he had lived with Jill. Grant starts getting threatening messages, but his protection instincts kick in when they start including Jill—even if she doesn’t want his protection. I didn’t want to stop reading this story. It pulled me and wouldn’t let go. Some side stories are going on as well. Well-written and very enjoyable. I liked the characters…two-legged and four-legged. https://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com...
Dr. Jill wondered where her attractive attorney husband was when he stayed out half the night. They barely spoke anymore, and when she finally confronted him, he stormed out. The silent darkness of her home was oppressive, and “a chill swept through the kitchen, so heavy with sadness that she spun around, half expecting to see an apparition standing behind her.”
Welcome back to small town life in Wisconsin in book 2 of Roxanne Rustand’s series. This clean romantic mystery continues in her signature writing with themes of abandonment, healing grace, forgiveness, and promises that need to be kept. It is a book of great aunts and teenaged boys, of marriages gone wrong and premature deaths.
Jill and her friends deal with so many tragedies, facing them with courage and compassion, they pull at the reader’s heart. It’s a lovely book, and you won’t want to put it down until all the mysteries are solved and everyone is safe.
The house and different wants drove them apart. The house was the last straw
Jill tried to tell herself that she didn’t still love Grant. After all he was the one who cheated. Grant thought Jill should have believed him without any explanations. After all she is the one who picked the house that gave them the last straw in their marriage. The house was different it had strange vibes and dark secrets. After all it had its own secrets. Someone else used the secrets to drive their fears. After all he had hate on his side.
They grew apart, both career people but he was ready for a family before she was but she was pregnant, 19 weeks when she miscarried. He blamed her, circumstances caused them to separate. A client of his violent husband is let out early on parole and threatens them both along with the child she is carrying due to their one night together. Everything works out great. Love this author and her works.
This book is full of suspense, including some baffling mysteries. It also deals with hard topics of youth problems, feelings of unworthiness & inadequacies, marriage & communication problems that become unbearable when not dealt openly with, revenge, and trust. I love the old Victorian house descriptions and history behind it!
Mystery, danger, a love story. You can't guess what will happen next. A beautiful love story, a surprise, and so many things happening in history and working out today. A person with revenge in their heart. Will there be a happy ending.
I'm ready for the next book ! Can't get enough ! Super clean, faith based Suspense. Love Sadie .I highly recommend this series or any of this author's books.
