Izzy is honing her tickle machine for an upcoming INVENTION COMPETITION when she uncovers tiny ogres wreaking havoc in her local park - a mishap she caused by accidentally bringing them back from Fairytale Land. Now, chaos reigns in Fairytale Land, with wolves pursuing wizards and goblins harassing fairies. Izzy, with the aid of her steadfast friend Henry the Unicorn, must locate and return the ogres to Fairytale Land. Will Izzy and Henry successfully catch the ogres, and will she make it back in time for her INVENTION COMPETITION?

The next book in the Izzy the Inventor series and this time chaos in FairyTale land, new inventions, and more!
So I wasn’t able to read the previous book in the series, I did read books 1 and 2, but haven’t found book 3 yet, so I was a bit confused about the ogres, but thankfully after a bit I got into the story and I had oodles of fun reading this one!
Izzy is back and this time she has a big plan for an invention competition, she wants to make a tickle machine, but first she needs to find some ogres because without them apparently Fairytale Land goes into utter chaos. Yup. Those ogres are apparently top of the food chain and without them, well, read the book and experience the chaos yourself. I loved seeing Izzy (and her trusty sidekick Henry) gather up items and figure out how the heck to catch something SO TINY. And not just that, but also being with VERY SHARP TEETH. I just loved seeing Izzy think, think some more, and come up with some great ideas! But of course, catching is just one thing as we will see, because we are also going to FairyTale Land! Yup! And more adventures happen!
Because this time we are visiting Snow White and the seven dwarves. I was just as shocked as Snow White that Izzy DIDN’T know this fairy tale. I mean, I was already confused that she also never heard of the others, but even Snow White? Is she in a blessed country that doesn’t have countless of retellings of the stories, movies about fairy tales, series. I cannot imagine her parents never having read to her out loud. So yeah, that was confusing. But I guess it was needed so that things would progress on with the story, a bit too convenient for my tastes, but hey, not the age group, maybe those kids don’t mind it.
I didn’t like Snow White. She started as pretty nice and friendly but then just turned sour and even did that to Izzy. I found that SO rude of her. Snow White is one of my favourite Fairy Tales, but this? NAH. Heck no.
I did like how the rest of the story went and I liked the ending. It was a bit convenient of course, but again, this is a kid’s book.
The illustrations were a delight again!
Oh, and we also get some fun inventions to try out, which I like. Not just mixing science with magic, but also giving kids the opportunity to make something while/after reading.
All in all, despite some things that weren’t my taste, I had a lot of fun. I hope for more books in the series~
Henry the unicorn will always have a place in my heart, fun mix of science, fairytales and even teaching you about the food chain. Clever and fun, love this series
