You aren’t free to love until you realize you can’t make someone love you back.
As builder Pete Banks is finishing a remodel for psychologist Zoey Donovan, she arrives home dazed, injured, and distraught. As he calms her down, she draws him in with her halting story of how Thad Dalton, a local cop and Pete’s roommate, saved her life. When Pete learns Thad was shot, he’s torn between staying with a woman in need and being there for his roommate.
Zoey never intended to blurt out to a man she’s never met how she almost died, but Pete’s understanding nature alters something inside her. Usually, she’s the one trying to figure out her clients’ needs, not the other way around. While Pete Banks is one of kind, she can’t tear her mind from Thad, the man who risked his life for her.
Detective Thad Dalton was never so scared in his life when a madman grabs Zoey in the hospital corridor and threatens to kill her if his demands aren’t met. Thad ends up taking a bullet to save her but would do it again if it means having her in his life.
When Zoey, Thad, and Pete attend Thad’s parents’ anniversary party sparks fly. She realizes she wants a more personal connection to these two men. While Thad's on board, Pete doesn’t think he’s worthy. His self-loathing forces him to retreat and casts doubt on their future together.
Zoey and Thad are justifiably both mad and hurt. It's going to take a miracle to patch this threesome back together for their happily ever after.

Not only do I love my hot paranormal fantasy romances starring yummy Alpha men, but I am now having so much fun writing my clean cozy mysteries set in Witch's Cove, Florida. The star of the show? Iggy, who is a 9-lb talking pink iguana.
I've been writing for twenty-one years and have a few other aliases. I hope you enjoy all my different series.
I love hearing from readers!! You can contact me at velladayauthor@gmail.com.
While I enjoyed this book there were times that it was a slow read. The characters tended to all over think everything to the point that their thoughts were scattered and detracted from the book.
I can't believe I am going to say this, but this book was a little wordy for me. The heroine is a psychologist and thinks and talks too much. Three troubled souls meet and bond, eventually. This is a series that takes place in Rock Hard, Montana, a town that apparently accepts marriage of 2 men and a woman. It is hard to suspend disbelief that this would be accepted, but that is how these kind of series seem to work.
I didn't feel chemistry between the three. At first there was between Thad and her. But then Pete was introduced and it seemed lost. I also think their personalities changed frequently in the book. I didn't really like it.
Zoey is a psychologist and works in an office in the hospital. When she is held hostage by a drunk, abusive man, Thad takes him down. Thad is a cop in the gangs division and goes to the hospital because his ex wife was beaten by her new husband. While trying to rescue Zoey, he is shot in the arm. When she gets home, she expects the contractors to be gone after remodeling her kitchen and bathroom. But Pete is still there. He owns his own construction company and is best friends with Thad. She breaks down on him and then he tells her he and Thad share women. Which isn't unusual in their small town. Zoey had a bad breakup with her exs and afraid to start another relationship with two men. But something about these men draw her. When someone tries to break in her house, she goes and stays with the guys. Pete thinks he's not good enough for her and leaves. When he realizes his mistake, he'll do anything to get back with them. M/F/M. A little suspense. Sex. And wonderful characters and storyline.
The second book in the Montana Promises series centers around Zoey, a psychiatrist, Thad a cop, and Pete a construction company owner, the first two being introduced in the prior book. Thad gets shot while trying to protect Zoey from a domestic dispute in the hospital and Zoey meets Pete when she gets home from the ordeal and is finishing up a renovation on her home. Interest is show by all parties, but Zoey had a bad past experience with a ménage relationship in the past and Pete has a lot of self-doubt from childhood that comes in to play.
As in the previous book there was an underlying plot that came through along with the romance. I enjoyed the first book to this one, but it was an easy read and kept me entertained. Found some of the personalities annoying and that took me out of the story a little bit.
I read the first book in the series and opted to hop into this one too. As with the first, this book could have used some editing to make it better.
While it was nice to have a why choose book with an actual storyline, this one felt clunky. Pete went from a self-confident businessman to a angsty teenager in the drop of a hat. The third act breakup was ridiculous and absolutely unnecessary. It lasted one chapter. Really?
Thad was... I don't even know. He could have been a paper cutout for all the personality he had. He started out fine, but by the end it was all... flat.
Zoey? Also bland.
it's unfortunate because the storyline could have been great! The murder mystery, the why choose, the uptight psychiatrist, hell, even the attack by Katie. It could have been great, but it just wasn't.
Final annoyance: did the town name really need to be "Rock Hard"? Blech.

Foundation For Three is a fabulous contemporary romance by Vella Day. Ms. Day has provided readers with a fantastic cast of characters in a well-written book. Psychologist Zoey is taken hostage at the hospital she works from. Thad is a detective in the gang unit is present when Zoey is grabbed. Pete own a construction company and shares his house and sometimes women with Thad. Their story is loaded with drama, humor, smokin' hot sex, action and suspense. I enjoyed reading Foundation For Three and look forward to reading more from Vella Day in the future. This is a menage book, so it may not be for everyone. Foundation For Three is book 2 of the Montana Promises Series but can easily be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I just love Vella Day's books but this one is my new favorite one ! WoW two 🔥 men and one sassy woman . I cried then laughed out loud at some of the antics the trio got up to . I'm going to be reading this book more then once it's just that good ! If you read just one book this month this should be the one! I can't say enough about the fantastic storyline in this book . Seeing Seth almost blow his chance at compete happiness brought me to tears . Not to give a spoiler but the ending was so exciting only one thing could be better if Vella would write a sequel to this book I'd love to know what happens next ?
Vella Day has done it again. Feel in love with her book Promises of Mercy. All of the characters were introduced and soon started a relationship.
Pete and Thad fall for Zoey. Thad is the police officer who saved Zoey from an altercation at the hospital. Zoey arrives home and fall apart finally from the attack in Pete's arms. She didn't realize that are roommates. The fun then starts...
Dr Zoey Donovan is a therapist who gets between a crazed wife beater and a cop, Thad, at the hospital. Thad is wounded but saves Zoey and the relationship begins. Except he lives with his best friend, Pete and they share. The story continues and this little town in Montana seems filled with menage marriages. Sounds to far fetched, likeable characters and an interesting read.
And the characters are just so-so. She is analyzing them to the point of boring and Pete is a fickle mess. Keeps you guessing who the bad guy is until last minute but the pace is excruciating.
Sometimes you feeling running. And sometimes you are willing to stay and fight for what you need to make your life mean something. Two amazing guys . One stay and fight. And will think it's better run. But one person. Will bring a balance. And she wants them both.
Was a bit disappointed with this one. It seemed really long and boring at times and I kind of lost interest half way through. I doubt I will read anything further in this series, it just doesn't inspire me.
This is a great second book in the story. It was great that Zoey was doing a second chat of finding the true love of her life. Pete & Thad. I loved it. And seeing Amber, Stone & Cade wedding was great too.
I really enjoyed this book. I want to read more about these three characters. The love story is very tender and the added spice of murder is exciting. How about it, Vella?
I love menage. It's always been one of my favorite fantasies. I liked the way Pete,Thad and Zoe relate to one another. The sex is great fun. I'm curious about some of the other characters.
Omg I loved this book. It took me add a flicks of a page, then I count out it down.how I loved this story line.I was so swept up in it.I laughed and cried when Pete got it wrong.but I love this book well written cells x
This is well written Ménage story so please be aware of this when getting this book It has awesome characters. If you like Ménage stories I really think you will like this one. This one is worth your time. For me this was a quick easy read, I really enjoyed it.
Thad may finally get the girl - but first he needs to tell her about Pete - will Zoey accept that they share women between them. Lots if twist and turns and oh yea a murder.
It was a good book, a good story there were just too many times that the story dragged on and on. I'd say it's worth a read but not worth 5 or even 4 stars.
