No one knows what’s going on in Fog Crest.

The coastal town has been around for as long as anyone can remember. But, while the world moves forward, Fog Crest remains unchanged, as if it’s frozen in time. The locals don’t seem to notice or care, and everything continues as normal. That is, until an unexpected visitor shows up.

Natalia Westbrook arrives in Fog Crest to escape her problems. Little does she know she ran from one mess into another.

To Josie Jennings, Fog Crest is like a second home. She visits every year, and every year it’s exactly the same. Except this year, there’s one major difference: her family is missing.

As the behavior of the townspeople grows increasingly suspicious, Natalia and Josie must work together to discover the secrets of Fog Crest and its residents.

My name is Abigail Hammond, but I always go by Abby. One of my thumbs is shorter than the other. I have absolutely no idea why, but it's useful for those awkward times when you meet new people and you're supposed to share a fun fact about yourself.

Thankfully, having unmatched thumbs in no way hinders my ability to write, so I'll keep working on more books! My team consists of my amazing husband who handles the cover art and illustrations for my books, and my dog, who is my chief distraction officer. We live in sunny California and consume way too many tacos. Seriously, we eat tacos for dinner almost every day.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this story and I am so glad that I did! This book is I-Robot meets Forks, Washington meets Charlie’s angels? (Never watched Charlie’s angels but it’s got a trio of kick ass girls and that’s what counts)
The setting of this story really draws you in and then once you’re in it you can’t get out. I can’t count the number of times I put it down and said “there’s no way” and there was absolutely a way and Natalia and Josie found it. The growth of the characters was so charming and really solidified the importance of their friendships. Also Ian sucks and I’m glad everyone figured it out.

Futuristic, dystopian, and thriller? This book gives you everything!

Follow Natalia and Josie in this dual POV. Nat’s keeps things close to the chest and is all business, but she loosens up as she befriends Josie, a nosey Fog Crest semi-local who is hosting Nat during her stay. They are forced into proximity as the rest of the town begins to turn. They must work together to uncover the mystery behind Fog Crest’s disappearances and the local’s odd behavior.

The dialogue is authentic and has just the right amount of quirk to easily identify the characters' personalities and relationships. I loved the theme of found family, redemption, and discovering motives of the human race. It’s real, emotional, and briefly biblical. There were so many twists and turns that I couldn’t put the book down because I had to uncover the truth. I’m definitely hoping for a book 2!

4.5 ⭐️| Thank you so much for the arc!!

This book was amazing and kept you guessing!! It has:
*mystery
*sci-fi
*friendship
*suspense
*multiple povs

If you like suspenseful mystery books you HAVE to read this one! The town of Fog Crest was so ominous and secrets kept on being revealed. It kept me reading past when I should have gone to bed and that’s when you know the book is good! I was suspicious of everyone!

Her writing is so quick to read and I love the Christian themes woven into the book! It was also really fun reading about a friendship based book instead of romance and seeing how much they would do for each other!

She is one of my favourite authors and her books are so fun to read! Highly recommend!

Mysterious and Wholesome

Rate: 4.5 stars✨✨✨✨

Fav Quote: “Marie looks down at her sweater, then back at Nat. ‘Thank you! I can't remember where I got it, but I remember it was on sale for half off!’” Because that’s so me.

I had the honor of ARC reading Fog Crest by Abigail Hammond last month! Abi was sweet enough to send me a physical copy and a break from ebooks was just what I needed.

Fog Crest is a thrilling and mysterious story about two women who discover that the small town of Fog Crest is harboring a big secret. This passage of discovery leads the two to dissect their past and overcome their fears in order to save the people who live there—and to save themselves.

Abi’s ability to craft well rounded characters is astounding. Natalia, Josie, and Marie all had unique distinct voices and had great character development. Not to mention I found it real easy to relate to a lot of the issues they’ve been through. The flashbacks inside of the story also added great insight into character motivations and provided wholesome breaks between the tension felt in the present story. Themes of redemption, growth, and forgiveness are beautifully woven throughout the story as well which added such a sweet life lesson to an intriguing mystery.

Lastly, I think her world building was very unique but not too much to where it’s hard to understand. Overall I have to say, it’s real easy to have a unique concept but it takes skill to execute it well—that’s exactly what Abi did!

Thank you for a beautiful story Abi😍✨

"You're not blunt. You're straightforward. There's a difference...it's a good thing."

Fog Crest was such a cozy, mysterious, and fun book to read in stormy weather! It has the perfect mix of creepy and tense while also being mysterious and hopeful. It's the type of story that makes you want to binge it in one sitting.

While there is a bit of a romance sideplot, I think what I loved the most about Fog Crest is the focus on female friendships. Nat, Josie, and Marie have complicated pasts and they make poor decisions, like everyone does, and they have to communicate and work through those experiences. Our society loves to pit women against each other and encourage fighting or "writing off" women who make mistakes, rather than talking through the reasons why and extending forgiveness. Fog Crest displays such a beautiful example of character growth and female friendships. I genuinely loved every character!

Abigail Hammond is quickly becoming one of my auto-buy authors. I highly recommend her books if you're looking for stories that are filled with cozy spooks and hope-filled characters.

Content: Some mild gore and spooks. No cursing. Very mild on-page romance (only a kiss), but there is mention of toxic past relationships that may be triggering for some readers (gaslighting, blackmailing, etc). Also mention of drugs and gang membership.

I received this book from the author. All comments and opinions are entirely my own and this review is voluntary.

THIS BEAUTIFUL BOOK IS 5 STARS
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Natalia Westbrook, an undercover agent, and Josie Jennings, a recurring visitor of Fog Crest, must work together to uncover the mysteries of the coastal town. Josie's aunt and uncle are two of the many people who have gone missing, and since no one in the town seems to worry, it's up to Natalia and Josie to crack the case.

This book deals with themes of losing hope, having doubts, and finding faith again. The characters are all flawed in their own ways, but they have many moments of development, and their most important challenge is to prove that no matter how flawed humankind can be, there is still good in many people.

I loved the friendship between Natalia and Josie. While they hardly knew each other at the start, they made sure the other didn't feel alone. The other residents were so eerie, especially Will and the sheriff. So it was great to see these two women work together against all odds to solve this bizarre mystery.
(And later THREE women, since Marie joins the plot later! GOTTA LOVE IT!!)

The plot twists were great! The characters had me rooting for them!

And I loved how this story is set in the same universe as Shadows of Memory!
(I highly recommend reading that book, too)

Fog Crest was a fun, mysterious read. And I'm so thankful I received an ARC for this story!

Fog Crest is a simple story: found family, backstabbing, personal growth, redemption, slight mystery, background romance, happy ending.

There wasn’t as much paranormal and mystery as I thought there would be. Much more friendship building and dealing with internal issues and emotions from their past.

Fog Crest is well written, with a nice flow start to finish.

Josie and Galileo were my favorite characters.

Although the main charterer is Natalia, a hard working, focused, and determined young woman. I feel Josie is the true main character, fitting perfectly into the pages as if they’re written around her. Josie is what brought a connection and life to Fog Crest for me.

—SPOILERS AHEAD—

I was extremely disappointed when Natalia and Josie didn’t end up as a couple…. Like, it was so there.. I even think Marie felt it.. (never confirmed) even THANKSGIVING and the Sarsperilla’s…

Like, I don’t care about Will or Ian, thank you very much. Such annoying filler characters…

Overall Fog Crest was a cool story. Something different you don’t see on the shelves that often. I would like to read more from this author, Abigail Hammond.

*Important note: fell into a reading slump/depression. Which is case for all four of the books I'm currently ready, which has effected my enjoyment on these books as a whole*

Despite the note above, I did actually enjoy this one even when I was able to sit and focus on even one chapter, I wanted read on. This story follows mostly Natalia, a CRF agent escaping a bad betrayal and breakup finds herself in the town of Fog Crest, where nothing has changed in years.
We also follow Josie who is visiting Fog Crest to stay with her aunt and uncle, only they are missing and no one seems to know anything. In fact they are dismissing their disappearance completely.
These two girls must work together to find out what is going on in Fog Crest, before it's too late.
Our final point of view is Marie, who we don't get a lot of chapters with but it's still adds to the story in terms of more background information. Though she does become more integrated into the climax and ending of the story.

This book was absolutely incredible! I don’t usually read mysteries, but this book makes me want to read them more. This book was thrilling and kept me on the edge of my seat and I absolutely loved the ending!

As usual, I will include some basic information in my review. This book had no spice and no foul language.

I loved the Faith that was added into the story! It added to the redemption and friendship and friendship theme. I really enjoyed all of the characters. My personal favorite was Josie!

I loved the theme of forgiveness in the story and finding out who you are. The book not only had intense adventurous scenes, but it also had emotional depth.

I also recommend you read Abigail’s book shadows of memory before fog crest. I think it will help you understand this world.

Overall, this is one of my favorites! It was so so good!

This was not my usual go to, and I have to say this has been one of the best reads of this year It will probably stay in my top five this year. Fog Crest follows Natalia a young agent who goes to investigate a small town but she’s also running away and trying to figure out her own life. She meets Josie who the complete opposite-she’s outspoken, chatty a total sunshine personality. When Josie gets Into town she finds her uncle and aunt are gone, days pass by and both Natalia and Josie start to notice strange things. Beautiful bonds are created, while this book has aspect of dystopia, thriller and mystery it still shows us how a friendship can form during horrific times. And how forgiveness can liberate someone’s soul and mind.

Fog Crest tells the story of a village with a mysterious present. Nothing is what it seems and we get to experience the weirdness through three different points of view. Josie is a semi-native who has come to visit her Aunt and Uncle, the owners of the local inn. Natalia claims to be visiting just to get away from a rough breakup, but is clearly not telling Josie everything. Marie shows up later, to clean up Natalia's mess and add an emotional wrench to the challenges already facing Josie.
The book starts out as a nice chill mystery until you get to a casual reference to what year it is!!! After that, the mysteries just pile up. The author has created a fascinating world and I'm hoping that she's going to write more books in this world.

I was hooked from page 1

This book kept me guessing and really delivered. Nat arrives in the small town of Fog Crest, a strange place with unwelcoming suspicious residents. Staying at he local inn a place that never seems to have guests, she meets and befriends Josie who is running the inn for her strangely absent Aunt and Uncle. Strange disappearances, memory lapses and death plague the population and why does no-one ever leave. A superbly written story full of atmosphere, tension and strange happenings. The build up is well paced keeping the reader guessing but giving little clues as to the secret and what a secret. Loved it. I received a complimentary copy from Voracious reader and am leaving a honest voluntary review.

4.5 ⭐️ (rounded up to 5)

Thank you to the author and StoryOrigin for the ARC!

Creepy, dystopian mystery with THREE strong female leads? Sign me up!

I have a bad habit of picking up a book based on the art on the cover and the title. I never read the description of what the book is about, and let me tell you, I was pleasantly surprised! This book really sucked me in right from the get-go. I could have finished it in one day! It was such a refreshing book. This book follows along with Natalia, Josie, and Marie. Three strong females who have amazing backstories, good character development, and great personalities. I really love how the author tied the Bible into this story. The way that the story mirrors Joseph’s story in the Bible and teaches forgiveness, of others and most importantly yourself. I won’t spoil anything, but honestly this story really hits hard due to the technology used in it and what happens along the way (or more so, what you uncover along the way). This is a must-read in my opinion! If you like anything mystery, thriller, dystopian, or following along with a story about forgiveness and friendship, you’ll enjoy this book.

ARC Review - I had an amazing time reading this book! It’s a fast paced, 1st-person, multiple POV, mystery. Seems to be a trend with the author to get you sucked into the story almost immediately! This one kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way through as my mind raced to find out what was truly going on in Fog Crest. Every character in this book felt so real because of their depth and uniqueness. It was extreme satisfying to watch the story and mystery unfold in this book! I can’t recommend it enough!

When I first picked this book up, I didn't really know where it sat in relation to Hammond's first book (which I really enjoyed). Slowly, however, glimpses of the world of Shadows of Memory showed up, first in small ways then in much bigger ways!

It was very cool to see what became of the concepts and characters from SoM in this fresh setting with a new cast of characters.

I found the plot engaging, and the mysteries intriguing. There were no real slow or boring moments, and it leaves lots of room for more installments- which I will be keeping an eye out for!

Abby does it again! This was such a unique setting and so different in many ways from her first book, but at the same time had some amazing tie-ins from it. I found myself so surprised and on the edge of my seat the whole time! Fog Crest is such a cool spooky setting--definitely huge fall vibes. it makes me want to sit by the fire with some pumpkins in a dark mansion and cozy up to read. I can't wait to see what she writes next!

Worth the read!

Creepy atmospheric story that just piques your interest and reels you in!
I didn't know where this was going until about half way in. It still could have went in the other direction and that kept it fun.
Characters are strong with enough back story to explain why they are the way they are. Just enough but not mired down by too much detail.
Pacing is good and I recommend for sci-fi lovers and dystopian/apocalyptic as well.

I absolutely loved this book! It was eerily mysterious, had great character building and flashbacks, and was a captivating story that I didn’t want to stop reading! I love that it was in the same universe as Shadows of Memory. I think the thing I loved most about it was that it contained really beautifully told bits of wisdom for real life. I cannot recommend this book enough. 10/10

I love the characters in this book, they’re so relatable!
I enjoyed the multiple POVs and getting to watch each of their stories unfold. Amidst all the fabulous character development there’s also an exciting mystery being uncovered, I couldn’t put the book down!! Go read it, but be careful—I was almost late to work because I stayed up too late reading this book. Lol

As always, Hammond delivers a book that I think is going to be sweet and cute and light, packs in a terrifying twist, and has me both checking behind doors for evil robots and wanting to hug my family by the end of it.

Anyway. This book is about friendship and how horribly wrong things can go, even with the best of intentions. It’s also about what not to look for in a guy. Highly recommend.

This was wonderfully written, it had that concept that I wanted and thought the overall story worked well together. I was engaged with the characters and thought the adventure element had that feel that I wanted. Abigail Hammond wrote this perfectly and I wanted more in this universe.

Fog Crest is a must-read if you like sci-fi dystopian! The near-future setting and the mystery surrounding Fog Crest immediate pulled me in and held on to me throughout the story. I loved the dual-timeline and multiple POV,which was made even better by how distinct the voices were for each character. Even without seeing the heading, I could tell who the POV focused on. The story itself is very thought-provoking. Fog Crest is definitely not far off from a real possibility in the future, and it shows how the consequences of our actions and decisions can affect generations in the future.

This story was pleasing and impressively creative. The world building around a society after the fall of an advanced one was interesting. With all the details and connections revolving around this idea of a new world, but for the better. Natalie, Josie and Marie were great characters to follow. Including the way each chapter jumped to the POV of that person. Very pleased and would recommend this book.
