K.M. Mixon is an up-and-coming fantasy/romance author. Her hobbies include books, her kindle, writing, and keeping her home life in order. She can be found either reading a fantasy book or writing inside of a fantasy world.
How can one write in such a heart-warming tone about such darkness? Mixon has mastered the skill.
Her voice is wholesome and characters so real that the depths of this create that much more detail and emotion. This was my first book by KM Mixon and it won’t be my last. Over the top alpha villains are in dangerous hands when it comes to Mixon.
Nothing is off limits. The spice is intense and can be triggering if you are not a practiced dark romance reader. If you are looking to dip your toes in dark romance, this is not the place to splash.
Good balance between gray and dark. Using dark romance themes like stalking, murdering, and SA, we have a classic love story. A play on the Phantom of the Opera storyline, and if you want a darkish romance with masked men who growl you're mine, then this is the read for you. Perfect holiday read.
I have read just about every book from K.M. the progression, of her books is great. Although, this new book part of The Dark Corruption series is showing K.M. at the top of her game. This is the second book in this series. Each book can be read as its own standalone book. Yet, the theme of the books are very dark and stalker vibes. If you are looking to "ghost" your real life for a couple of hours, then you need to pick up a copy of this book!
I absolutely loved this book. Looking up places to rent that has a tall, dark, broodish ghost that can "stalk" me anytime. Pierce hovering over Hazel while she was sleeping. Gimmie more. Luckily, Pierce did not stay hidden too long from Hazel. That is when the "fun" really began, and the temperatures rose.
I should not be surprised by Hazel and that she has a dark side. She is an author of dark romances after all. Yet, she still did surprise me by just how black her soul is. You go woman! She and Pierce are a match made in heaven/hell.
I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Another great book by this author! The books in this series could be read as a stand alone or read in order of publication. This is the second book in The Dark Corruption series. These books show the author has made significant progress over the course of her works, they get better and better with each one!
The vibe of this book is just *chefs kiss*. From start to finish I couldn't put this one down! I was lucky enough to read this one during the early stages of editing and then again after she finished editing and added a few extra chapters. The plot twists in this one kept me turning pages wanting to know what was going to happen next. I loved the concept of an author hiding away to write a novel and finding a lot more than she bargained for. The angst and chemistry between the main characters was perfectly captured.
Having read all of KM Mixon’s previous books, each new one gets better and better. The new Dark Corruption series is no exception and I cant wait to continue reading this author. Loved the Christmas dark stalker vibes that comes with this book. Pierce is a multifaceted character that you cant help but love and Hazel carries her own trauma and emons and they are a match made in in the dark shadiows of the world.
The hidden nooks in the house really gave the creeper vibe and Pierce watching over Hazel as she sleeps, was both creepy and protective. When these two come face to face its light an explosion of both emotion and heat.
Hazel, who normally writes cute and cosy romance, has a dark romance side which seemed to flow out her with ease as she wrote. The relationship between these two is well written and I have read through twice already.
5 stars and thank you for the arc to review and looking forward to next book in the series.
When Hazel just wanted a get away to write in peace. To get away from the demons in her past during the holidays. She gets a lot more than she bargained for.
Meanwhile, we have Pierce, who owns the house and likes to look into each of the people staying at his house. He doesn’t understand why but he’s drawn to this woman staying in his house.
I am obsessed with this book! I love the way their individual traumas drive the way they act. How they end up coming together. And for the love of the shower scene 🥵🤌🏻
All I can say is I have read four books from this author in the span of 3 days. I could not get enough of her writing and I will continue reading because I am eating this sh*t up. I love the dark themes and I appreciate not deep diving into traumatic scenes but I would have been fine either way. I don’t have many triggers at all but definitely recommend checking them. Pierce and Hazels chemistry was chefs kiss, I loved the sarcastic banter and how she saw right through his mental and helped heal him.
You need air? Then come. You breathe after you come for me like a good little whore. - Pierce
Imagine going to a house to clear your mind and write a book, just to end up getting a stalker, falling in love with him, and (semi) healing each other in the process.
I swear KM Mixon can write ANYTHING!! She is killing it with these stalker books!
**ARC** I. Could. Not. Put. This. Down. I’m obsessed. It was dark in all of the right places and soft in the others. I loved how two people with trauma came together to find themselves whole again. Being a therapist I am usually nervous when books mention mental health diagnoses but this was done with grace and beauty. Definitely not the last time I read a book by this author!
feeling lucky after getting two good stories in a row, this one piqued my interest but baby this is literally a not-so-different take on the infamous stalker book that had y'all tripping. the scene, the setting the whole shebang
nonetheless, it's alright but was incredibly boring for me and the hero is trying too hard.
OH MY GOD! YALL THE FUCKING TRAUMA AND HEALING THAT WAS IN THIS BOOK WAS BEAUTIFUL! The way this man was so obsessed with her before he even met her and then was like okay we stalking her now, I really felt that. She is me, I am her, we are we. Hazel is literally who I want to be in life but with less trauma.
Honestly I was so pleasantly surprised! I didn't expect it to go this deep into dealing with trauma, there were tender moments there that just warmed me from the I side. And the spice? Oh hot damn! Better get ready for Pierce!
THIS BOOK IS AMAZING! I love that they find peace with each other even with all the trauma they both experienced. Pierce is touch and you die perfection!!!! As in true K.M Mixon fashion the plot twists were unexpected and freaking excellent!!!!
Dark, Christmassy, snowed in, alone in a mansion and stalker all wrapper into one delicious story! Definitely check trigger warnings. I love this story. The FMC is a writer that is trying to avoid the holidays with writing in a remote Airbnb, while the MMC s obsessed with her.
This is the perfect quick book for those dark romance girlies for Christmas! It's haunting yet Christmasy and extra heavy on the DARK spice so make sure you're comfortable with the trigger warnings.
A new stalker romance for all my dark romance girlies! 💖 I don’t know what I expected from this story but it was dark and sexy and everything I needed right now! So twisted and yet I couldn’t put it down! Not a super long read either, so if you like it dark and twisted give this indie author a try, her writing is great and the story was perfect!
I love this story. K.M. Mixon is simply amazing! My top indie author for sure! I recommend her to everyone! Her stories keep getting darker and hotter!!!
I got this book as an arc in exchange for an honest review. This book was absolutely amazing. A spicy author meets her stalker and bada being bada boom. The spicy scenes were hot as hell. It was an amazing read perfect for the holidays. I 100% recomens this holiday novella
