Endless parties, hot guys, long, warm nights, and an infinite supply of bubble tea. That’s how I want to spend my summer.
The sad reality is that I’ll be stuck inside working two jobs while watching all the rich summer kids party their butts off. They’re wild, lewd, and entitled, but if I smile, look pretty, and show them a bit of skin, I’ll at least get a decent tip. Better than the locals, who only whisper about me behind my back.
I’m sick of the pity glances, the pathetic handouts, the prattling murmurs, and the sad smiles as I walk by.
I want to run away from it all.
The empty monstrosity of a house next door isn’t what I had in mind, but it's the closest thing when you can’t afford to go anywhere. Breaking and entering isn’t a new bullet point on my rap sheet, but…it’s the first time I’ve ever gotten caught.
And by one of the owner’s sons, nonetheless.
Cole Riley.
Although our paths have never crossed, his reputation precedes him as does the reputation of his two brothers. And somehow, I find myself entangled in a bargain that has me at his mercy until summer ends.
Trigger f0rced proximity, violence, trauma, drugs, drinking, swearing. Stolen Summer is a standalone college dark romance with a HEA and no cliffhanger. It is a full-length novel and recommended for 18+ due to language and adult situations.

So this book was good and would have been a 4 star read. But …. There are just so many unanswered questions and things just dropped … with no promise that there is another book to tie them all up 😖. The twin swap … not sure why the author bothered 😕. Arie’s father and Frankie get no retribution for what happened to them!! I’m yelling in my head right now 🤬. I can’t remember ever reading being a book that left SO MANY THINGS hanging without knowing that this is a cliffhanger. Just an ambiguous epilogue.
Loved this story Arie is so relatable with her bubble tea boba addiction and you just have all the feels for everything she is dealing with… Like always JL knows how to drag out all the feels cursing and crying and hit flashes galore…. also please tell me Frankie is getting a story i have a hunch but OMG is she the best Best Friend ever..!!!!
This was quite a fun read. I appreciated the little twist in the story, which I honestly did not anticipate. JL Weil really knows how to write a badass fmc, and this one was particularly feisty and likeable. I liked the brothers and the crew; Cole (IYKYK) was definitely book-boyfriend material. I highly recommend this. It would be wonderful to see a second book, with a longer epilogue. And let's not forget Frankie, I hope we get a book about her, she was such a sweet character.
I liked the book. It was an okay story, although there were some grammar issues. I liked the characters. However, I thought that Arie was annoying at times. I liked Crew but did not understand why the role was exchanged with his twin brother. What was the purpose of exchanging the roles, and if the plan was well executed? I also did not understand why Crew got to cover his brother. I know it is expected from Crew based on how the author penned Crew's aspect and personality and that he gets into trouble. Also, his brother Brody did not know he was talking to Crew, not Cole. It felt strange reading it. However, I thought it was an interesting story. I was saddened by Arie's burden at such a young age. Arie had a life utterly full of guilt, responsibility, and disadvantage. There is not enough disclosure in the book from the author. It leaves the reader hanging with unanswered questions. What bothered me the most was that neither Cole nor Crew felt guilty or disheartened by what they did. I felt the author missed an opportunity for both characters to redeem themselves and explain that what they did was wrong and unjust.

Spoilers: This should have been reverse harem, IDK I just feel like she made just as much emotional connection with Cole that she did with Crew, the only difference being that she got physical with Crew first when they were stuck in the house together. She also said she liked the lightness and humor that Cole had when she thought about how up and down their personalities were BEFORE she found out. By the way it was never bothered to be explained why they tricked her into thinking they were the same person? Like I understand they wanted to do that in public or with their dad's BS but it was common knowledge to everyone in the town that they were twins so it wasn't like they were fooling everyone, only her, and they were running the risk of her finding out from someone else in casual conversation about the Riley twins. Made no sense. And she wasn't near as mad as she should have been that Crew actively pretended to be someone else and never coming clean before they slept together. Like girl they are making a fool out of you! I feel like Gianna was just thrown in there for some drama, her family lost all their money it made no sense for her to marry one of the boys and they could have easily told that to their dad to get out of the arranged marriage. Which also didn't make sense why the boys needed our FMC to pretend to be their fiancee because the dad was going to make one or the other brother marry Gianna, it didn't matter to him and he had a spare if one refused....? Cole and Crew made an agreement with each other not to sleep with her buuuut Crew was actively making comments about screwing her from day one soooo check your bro. Both them being the same person and them being involved with her car accident were obvious from a mile away, good grief. And she wasn't near mad enough about that either. So I would have expected to find out that all the money the town gave her and her father for his medical bills came secretly from them but no, after they literally left her to bleed out and her dad to possibly die, they had no contact with the family to try to make up for what they did and they escaped serious criminal charges for what they did while drinking and driving. It sounds like the author left the book open for resolution on Coles marriage to she devil, the attempted murder of her best friend, how they were going to deal with the boys dad and the dad's clearly alcoholic depressive behavior from the fact he was left literally crippled. Unless it ends on this note which would not be surprising.

Had this on my book list to read and finally gave it a shot. I liked the premise of the book- This girl was in a car accident with her dad when she was 16 and her dad became paralyzed and they never found the people that hit her car bc it was a hit and run. Fast forward to now she's still living at home taking care of her dad and working a bunch of jobs to help pay off medical bills and what not (she doesn't come from money) and then someone she gets tangled with the rich boy next door and tells her if she pretends to be his fiancé he'll give her 100k. Ofc she says yes and ofc he's super hot and ofc she falls in love with him and ofc he has a twin brother that are identical that she has no idea until the majority of the book (basically she's been spending time with both of them) and ofc one of them has a crazy ex. The bothers being identical was great, you kind of picked up on it bc she always mentioned oh today he doesn't have his lip ring on, and you knew there were three brothers. Anyways, the writing style was horrible... here's where it gets bad.
- There was barley any detail for you to create a picture in your mind, which sucks bc that's the best part & was not written well... yikes. - There were photos at the start of each chapter which did not match the book whatso ever & it was the same picture each chapter. - Too much mention of boba tea.... so stupid - The plot line with the crazy girlfriend and people trying to kill her- just stopped and had no closing. Like she was scared they would get her father and then no mention of that ever again. - She finds out that the boys were switching off with her and then still ended up with one of them.. Also how did she not figure out which was which because they both have different tattoos and their voices are different. I cant. A bit of a reach but whatever. - The premise of her sneaking into that house on random occasions just to walk around and not steal anything made no sense what so ever.
Whatever. It was a fast read and got the job done!
Plot: 3/5 • Spice: 1/5 ➡️➡️➡️ I enjoyed this till the mid point. The point where we find out the difference between Cole and Crew.
Arie is a hardworking woman who takes care of her disabled father after a car accident. She makes a deal with the wealthy boy, “Cole”, after being caught sneaking into his pool.
Turns out the Riley family had a secret. Only she was the only one not privvy to. Cole and Crew are twins and Crew was pretending to be Cole the whole summer. That’s when this gets boring.
The money Crew paid Arie this summer helps her get an apartment when she gets to university. Lucky us, Cole and Crew attend the same one. Crew’s still fighting for Arie to forgive him.
Blah, Blah, Blah. There’s not enough groveling for what they did, if you ask me. this goes end on a HEA. There’s virtually no smut, and the plot absolutely tapers off. 3 ⭐️s is me being generous
Too many plot holes and it honestly still doesn’t make sense to me. Why the switching with Arie all the time if they didn’t plan to both share her? Seemed silly to even have Cole in the picture at all. The twist was not a twist to me as I figured it out the first time she met Crew and he “smelled and sounded like Cole” but was different somehow.
I also didn’t much care for Arie…I feel like the author couldn’t figure out who her character should be…weak and fragile for having been dealt the life she had or strong and independent. She really had no reason for such an attitude in the beginning and it would flip flop from rude to nice the entire book.
There was also no redemption for what the boys did. So much left open. And is there going to be a book for Cole or did he just get screwed and have to marry Gianna? Doesn’t really say.
Not my favorite.

Stumbled on this little Gem.... From the first page I was hooked. Poor Arie isn't free, she's trapped with debt and guilt since the accident that changed everything in her life until she went for that little swim in someone else's pool 😉. Not gunna lie I totally guessed what was going on halfway through the book but I loved the chemistry and banter between All 3 characters. A very easy read and easy to fall in love with the characters. My only issue- there aren't any other books..... What happens to Cole? Does Frankie find her man (cough I reallywant it to Cole) girl deserves some happiness after that ordeal, plus I wanna hear about Vegas etc etc etc soooooo much more.... But I guess this is a me problem not a problem with the actual book!!!! All in all it's a must read especially if you like the rich but total bad boy that won't fall in love but falls hard 🙋🏻♀️

Ugh... Fboys...
Stolen Summer by J.L. Weil is a dark college romance packed with sizzling chemistry, forced proximity, family secrets, and plenty of emotional tension. Arie's determination to survive despite her difficult circumstances made her easy to root for, while the mysterious Riley brothers kept me questioning what was really going on until the very end. The romance delivered plenty of steam, banter, and twists, with enough suspense to keep the pages turning. While I would have loved a few more answers to some lingering plot threads, this was still an addictive read that blends angst, danger, and romance into one unforgettable summer story.
This story sounded really mysterious and I was not disappointed. Our MMC is a badass and I really enjoyed watching her grow and realize what she deserves in life, she also has the best friend there ever was! Their banter with each other was great.
The drama in this book was good and had lots of angst, the only thing I wish I had more of was an explanation to a few things, it felt like it was just okay in the end when we never really found out why.
Overall a really enjoyable book! Would love to keep reading in this world with some of the other characters!
Arie needs money and she needs a lot of it to help get her and her dad out of debt. Ever since his accident her dad hasn’t been the same and being wheelchair bound has affected his future. Arie works herself to the bone, so when the rich neighbor makes her a deal she can’t pass it up. Cole Riley is a confusing guy. One minute he is the charming charismatic playboy and the next he is the broody dangerous guy. This story had twist and turns that I did and didn’t see coming.
The story started off quite interesting, but after the midway point, it revealed that the characters were twins, which felt like a twist that didn’t land well. The ending was abrupt, leaving many questions unanswered, such as the motivations behind their actions and the identity of the person trying to kill her. Additionally, it felt like the male main character had numerous secrets that he never shared with the female main character, and she seemed unbothered by it. Overall, it was below average and not what I had expected.
Arie and "Cole" Really surprise me with that unexpected twist! 😁I absolutely enjoyed reading this book and I'm really hoping for a sequel to explore more, like Cole's father And their wedding.😅 Without giving away too much, the unexpected twist in the story was truly delightful! 😍
Even if there is no Sequel this was still a wonderful read filled with surprises and joy that kept me hooked!
Honestly this one was kind of a mess. I still liked the vibes and the characters but she couldn't tell she was dealing with two different ppl? And the number of times Crew fucked up and I honestly don't remember him apologizing once, only saying "apologies won't change the past". And he never once came to her, she was always running back to him after rightfully storming out after he said something hurtful/admitted to doing something hurtful. Not my favorite.

Only one problem with this book......... I need more! Or is there another book? I've looked and can't find one!. Other than that it was really good, I started reading this this morning and couldn't put my kindle down. I've read loads of books and had never heard of this author before, I'm so glad I have now, will definitely be reading more from them.
I really loved the beginning of this book. I was immediately sucked in. Plenty of scenes though that made me ask questions and by the end of the book some things still just didn’t make sense. But regardless, a good read! Looking forward to reading more books by this author.
I would rate this a 10 if I could. I think it’s one of the best books I’ve ever read. I had suspicion of what was happening pretty early on but I never expected to be right. So many wonderful plot twists. I think I experienced every emotion in these pages. One warning, do not start this book if you don’t have a few hours to finish it
I cannot believe that twist in the story, so darn good. I literally had a hard time putting the book down. Unfortunately I needed to sleep, and go to work. I contemplated calling in just to finish the book. I loved this story that much.
J.L. Weil writes the best book boyfriends ever. I absolutely adore them. Arie and Cole are amazing and the only complaint that I have is that it is a standalone book and I am not ready to let them go.
This was honestly very fun and cute read. It’s not as dark as I usually read but it definitely with my book funk. I love the twist. I would love Cole story. Frankie is one bad bitch !!!
Arie's no nonsense hustle grabbed my attention from the start. When she made a deal that led to her falling in love, all the toughness fades in the wake of emotion. This was a wonderful redemptive story of love. Can't wait for more.
Great story that I stayed up far too late reading for two nights. I'm going to have to change my rating to one star if there's not a second book 😅Too many unanswered questions and some subtle hinting at other things... not to mention the hot as hell romance!
Yeah it was okay there was some things I had a problem with like she really couldn't tell them apart?! Did they have the exact same tattoos? And what had happened with her friend being stabbed, they just glazed over that? Idk it was good but those things really bothered me.

Wow! This book surprised me. I couldn’t put it down and here I am at 3:36 am writing a review. Lots of suspense, steam and several surprises. Can’t wait to read more from this author.
I really tried to like this book, but the plot was predictable. The plot twist was not a surprise. It was just mid. The spice was lacking, and I became bored halfway through the book
Arie and Cole made for an excellent read. Arie has alot on her shoulders with her Dad and she is quite relatable. The banter with her BFF Frankie is funny looking forward to more.
It's the story of Arie and Crew but with a really great plot twist! I want to say more but I actually don't want to give too much away. Definitely go read it!
