Six Points Security #8

Lethal Illusion

Rate this book
A forced proximity, found family, bodyguard romance on the run from bestselling author Lori Sjoberg!

Practice, patience, and a boatload of discipline transformed Jacob Navarre into one of the deadliest snipers in the world. Now, as a member of Six Points Security, he channels those skills to protect others from danger. But the limits of his patience are put to the test when cyber security expert Sloane Welker is assigned to his team. She’s got brains, beauty, a body built for sin, but zero experience in the field. That’s a problem for him, because that lack of experience can get people killed when things inevitably go sideways.

Sloane’s not exactly thrilled about this either. She’d much rather put her skills to use fighting bad guys in cyberspace. But her uncanny resemblance to one of Six Points Security's celebrity clients makes her uniquely qualified for the job. All she has to do is fool the paparazzi into believing she’s an A-list actress for a few days while the actress sneaks off to enjoy a little privacy. In exchange, Sloane will spend a few days living the life of the rich and famous. What’s the worst that could possibly happen?

She should have known better than to ask that question. Now armed mercenaries are hot on her tail, and it’s up to Navarre to protect her. It doesn’t help that their forced proximity is making the off-the-charts chemistry between them impossible to ignore.

Navarre will do what it takes to keep Sloane safe, but falling in love might be his most dangerous mission.

A “TOTALLY AMAZING” read is how I would describe Lori Sjoberg’s most recent book in her Six Point Security series!! It has a really good storyline, and is gripping and suspenseful!! It involves Jacob Navarre and Sloane Wexler. Jacob is an Operative/Sniper and Sloane is a computer whiz, both working for Six Points! Couldn’t be more opposite, right? Well they do say “opposite’s attract” and they definitely do, and the sparks fly!!! When a mission they are on goes sideways and they are alone together, they cannot help but act on that attraction!! But, after it’s done it’s back to normal because Jacob feels they can’t continue because they work together! But, can it??? If you are the tiniest bit curious and intrigued read the book and find out for yourself!! You will not be disappointed!! I know that I wasn’t! I absolutely LOVED this book and it was great seeing the other characters!! Worth the five star rating!!!!

Lethal Illusion is book 8 in the Six Point security series by Lori Sjoberg and a great way to get back to this series. 4.5 stars

Up next is Navarre, a former military sniper now protecting others from danger and Sloane Welker a colleague and cyber security specialist. She’s recruited to be a body double for a high profile client but lacks field experience. What happens when someone wants the client gone permanently…suspense, danger, chemistry off the charts, opening up their hearts, protecting her when things go sideways…

I voluntarily read a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

There is something about the way Ms. Sjoberg builds the tension of a situation! Whether its the push and pull of an awkward attraction, the suspense of danger, or the near explosion of passion, its always a wild ride! Underlying all the angst is a camaraderie of fiercely loyal and honorable people who choose to do right even when it could prove to be lethal.
This is just another example of a fantastically engaging story by an author I am always excited to read. I voluntarily reviewed and ARC and all opinions are my own.

Lethal Illusion by Lori Sjoberg will take you be surprise. It sounds like an easy enough task. Sloane Welker Part of the cyber section of Six Points is going to play a double for a very rich client. She has Jacob Navarre as her security, so everything should be fine. Except it isn’t. There is someone out there who wants the client dead and they have Sloane in their sights.
So now the simple task has become a game of cat and mouse with the mouse being better prepared than the cat can guess. Fast paced with fascinating characters, Lethal Illusion will keep you on the edge of your seat. I couldn’t put it down and finished it in one day.
Lori Sjoberg doesn’t disappoint on this 8th book in the Six Points Security series. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Wow once again this author draws you in and keeps you hooked from the first page to the last. I love the cast of characters in this series. Each couple is different but their found family bond and actual family is a joy to read and immerse your self in I’ve loved each and every book Ms Sjoberg has written. This is no different. Sloane and Jacob are perfect for each other and the suspense and storyline is so compelling you won’t want to put the book down. Once again a fabulous story in this series.

Lethal Illusion is a fantastic addition to the series. Navarre and Sloan start off on the wrong foot but quickly realize they had made the wrong assumptions about each other. I love the fact that even though Sloan has no field experience, she quickly learned what needed to be done in order to survive. Both characters are strong and resilient. Their chemistry was hot. The story is well-written and moves along at a good pace. I always enjoy reading books by Lori Sjoberg and encourage you to give her a try if you haven't read her books.

Navarre and Sloane's story is a great read. It's easy to follow and read. Warning though, once you start, you will not want to put it down. They have plenty of passion and heat as well as some cute moments together. Be prepared for a great adventure
