With many thanks to Amazon for the e-ARC for this review.

James Browning has written a series of educational informative books for personal and professional development. "Life Coaching: How to Become a Professional Life Coach, Now!" is one of many books from this knowledgeable articulate author. This is a slim easy to follow guide.

Browning explains that Life Coaching is a "broad concept": the coach must have a strong sense of integrity, self-esteem and awarenes, a healthy family background, the people skills to connect with others and lead by example without losing their own identity. The desire to lead and help clients to an improved better, positive, healthy life is essential.

Many readers will already know these basic principles, yet it was helpful to see them clearly defined and outlined. Browning points out that this career isn't for everyone, he also included a chapter on coaching for business management. I would like to have seen more written in general about overall training and certification, which (of course) varies from state to state, also the online schools of study, there are (likely) many to chose from. This would have been very helpful for those contemplating life coaching as a possible career, though it wasn't covered. I would have also liked to see a brief informative author bio, and personal stories from life coaches. I like the book cover art! Rating: 3*(GOOD).

I had low expectations of this book. I thought it was another self help, believe and achieve book. But no. Coaching has great value as the under girding processes for performance management. It offers support, assistance and customized care for people during their life.

Sometimes it becomes a bit too Oprah for my liking.

This book is different. It offers strategies, processes and useful tips to enable change and challenge for coaches trying to assist colleagues in either a personal or professional capacity.

Recommended.

Good read for those thinking about Coaching

Good read for the beginner coach. More about explaining the field to those thinking about coaching and finding a niche than coaching techniques.
