Compassionate Love: How God is Blessing a Hurting World is an inspiring, hope-filled book written with a highly accessible and relatable style. If you've read real-life accounts of missionaries before and ended up feeling like you couldn't possibly do what they did or live as they lived, give this book a try. Compassionate Love profiles US-trained healthcare missionaries and national doctors in Africa and Asia who serve in their own communities, yet I found myself connecting with their struggles, their insecurities, and their perseverance. Instead of glorifying those being profiled, Compassionate Love succeeds in convincing you that these are ordinary people who through tiny steps of obedience to a calling on their lives, ended up part of something bigger than themselves. It challenges you to reflect and consider how you can take that first small step toward showing compassion to those right in front of you.

This book is truly inspiring with its "true to life" accounts of ordinary individuals that love Jesus who have allowed our extraordinary God to use them in amazing, and even miraculous, ways through the vehicle of healthcare missions. The poignant stories reveal how God uses His people, whose hearts are aligned with His, to impact the lives of the broken, desperate and hurting in our world to bring compassionate care in Christ's name and hope for each new day.

You will be touched and challenged as you read this book and gain a glimpse at the faithfulness of God as reflected in so many incredible ways. There is no doubt that God is drawing people to Himself through these servants, even in the hardest and darkest places in the world. May the Lord bless each one whose story is featured in this book and so many others that MedSend is supporting whose stories are yet to be told!
