A woman who has done terrible things under compulsion and believes her death is the only adequate apology, finally within reach of the man she never stopped loving. A fair folk warrior who spent years imagining the worst about the woman who left without a word, and is only now learning how wrong he was. Two children caught between worlds, a Citadel on the edge of falling, and a love that survived everything except the truth.
Loralie has been the hereditary Guardian of the Citadel her entire life, and she has failed at it in ways that will haunt her forever. Evil men took her daughter to force her compliance, and the protections she was bred to uphold have been crumbling under her hands, one by one. She has done what she had to do. She has made her peace with the cost. What she has not made peace with is seeing Detlif again — the man she loved and left to protect, now standing in front of her and demanding answers she owes him.
Det has had years to build a story about what kind of woman walks away from a man without a word and delivers his infant son nine months later without explanation. The story he built was cruel, and it was wrong. The truth is worse in some ways and better in others, and it changes everything he thought he knew. Loralie is convinced she has already forfeited any right to a future. Det is equally convinced she is not going to get away with deciding that alone. With their children finally safe, a red dragon's intervention giving them a fighting chance, and a conspiracy threatening all the lands that only Loralie can stop, the reckoning between them cannot wait any longer, and neither can the love that never really ended.
Perfect for readers who love fantasy romance with second chance love stories earned through genuine sacrifice, morally complex heroines carrying impossible burdens, fair folk heroes who refuse to give up, and high-stakes magical adventure where the personal cost is as real as the world-level threat.

Loralie appears as a recurring figure in several earlier books, and her full story lands with considerably more emotional weight for series readers.
Dragon of Her Dreams delivers a woman who has done terrible things for the right reasons, a man who loves her anyway, and a love story that had to survive both of them before it could begin again.

Before becoming a full-time writer, she ran a laboratory, a legal department, and jetted around the country on business while working for a Fortune 500 engineering firm.
This was the story I had been waiting for. The mysterious North Witch finally has her story told and explained. I loved Lora and Det’s story. It was a satisfying as I could have hoped. I can’t wait to see where Bianca takes us next in this amazing world!
Brilliant storyline, bringing in most if not all dragon knight stories... Lora and Det story is a beautiful tale of sacrifice, love of family, and regret.
One of my favourite books by far. Can't wait to see what comes next in this story.
At last we find out the true story and the battle she had to face. Battles she had fought to get where she was needed to be. The hardship faced though the years, and a love never forgotten.
If you have read any of the Dragon Knight books, this one wraps up a few threads. I hard agree hard time putting this down. So loved the story of the Northern Witch and glad after all she got her HEA!!!
SPOILER ALERT. Loralie, wirh the aid of her red dragon friend, manages to break Gebel's ties to her daughter, Penny, which also frees her from the ties that allowed him to torture her. Det is there, eith his heartmate, to remind her that she can do more than "just enough" to seal Skir in the Citadel: she can reunite with even more family than she knew she had. I highly recommend this book and look forward to more from this world created by Bianca D'Arc.
So far I have not been disappointed in any of Bianca's books. The storyline is riveting, bringing in most of the dragon knight stories... Lora and Det's story is a tale of sacrifice, love of family, and regret with a very happy ending. I am looking forward to her next book/s.
