I read this while helping my daughter rehearse for her part and it works really well as a modern myth and a piece for teens to perform with notable options of symbolism and adaptability.

The story pulls from mythology well but also has enough pop and heft to its story to be engaging to those who do not know the story of Hades and Persephone, etc.

Definitely recommend this one if you enjoy theatrical scripts and plays.

My daughter was part of the cast and while she rehearsed I read the book. It’s an amazing story, but the ending … wow did not expect that.
