A new Alice oneshot that focuses on her romance with one-time assassin Gray Ringmarc Former assassin Gray Ringmarc serves his master Nighmare in the Tower of Clover. Known for his mature personality and kindness to animals, Gray also has a dark side. When Alice is whisked off by an adversary, Gray's inner darkness emerges in a fit of jealousy. Now there will be hell to pay. Can Alice tame his reptilian heart?
Would have been three stars, but was once again knocked down for a third of the thing being Crimson Empire. I feel like I've said this a half-dozen times in other reviews, but here it is again: "If I wanted Crimson Empire, I'd buy that manga. I'm buying Alice, so give me Alice!"
Anyway...
The art was meh. I had trouble telling Gray apart from Blood in some panels, which just shouldn't happen.
The story was so-so. You're thrown in after Alice and Gray have developed their feelings, leaving not much more to build on apart from "does (s)he/doesn't (s)he?"
A one shot manga set in the Country of Clover centered on Alice’s relationship with assassin turned personal assistant, Gray Ringmarc. The stand-alones for this series haven’t worked very well for me. This one was the worst of the bunch. Aside from feeling rushed it was also extremely disjointed. Still, I enjoyed seeing familiar characters and going back to the mafia version of Wonderland.
I have read Alice in the Country of Hearts and I do like this one too. But...
The artwork is a little strange for my tastes. So it makes lose focus of what I am reading.
To start off, I have never read/saw the character Gray Ringmarc before (I haven't read the Nightmare one yet...eh..) but I do like him for my first appearance of him. (Except the art.)
His character in my opinion is better than some of the other crazies in Wonderland. He is cool and not easily tempered but when he is. He has that quiet temper that makes shake in fear. I do like his character. I love how he keeps giving Nightmare more work. He is funny but in a more, dry sense.
I'm not going to talk about the others. Alice is Alice and everyone else has a book of their own. :D
The story was...okay. I'm not going to spoil it for anyone but I wish there was more so we could see more of a relationship between the two characters Gray and Alice.
This one was very different from the previous spin-offs because a) there was a shit ton of violence and b) Really not a lot of actual "sexual" or romantic parts. Alice was fairly tolerable in this one and I like Gray. It's great to see more of him because in the other spin-offs I've read, it's more just banter between him and Nightmare. I never knew much about him (let alone that he used to be an assassin? Unless I just wasn't paying attention). I don't really get the ending with the Bloody Twins. Can we stop with this nonsense? Also can we stop dedicating 1/4 of the book to Crimson Empire? I don't give a shit about Crimson Empire and I never will.
I’ve heard good things about this series but those peeps are wiggity wack if this is it. Apparently it’s a stand alone. Alice had a relationship. Woke up and he’d disappeared. Then that’s never touched on again. No angst or nervousness that it would happen again. Then she falls for nightmare. No explanations. The art is hard to follow. There’s very little of the other characters. It had the plot of a hentai manga which at least would’ve been stimulating.
I would have given this a 5 if the book wasn't being short on the content with Ringmarc. I understand you have to advertise your other stories going on, but it's 1/4 of the book and I really enjoyed this character out of all the others. ._.
As far as some of these entries go, this one wasn't bad. It was certainly an interesting exploration of Gray's character and how a relationship between him and Alice would go. I feel like Job's art style is an acquired taste though; I didn't exactly get used to it.
This was a good one, too bad that the art wasn't as good as the others.
It was steamy, it was fast paced and it was easy to follow. I liked this romance, Gray was pretty morally gray so it was fun to watch him to try care bout her while killing lots of people in her name.
I have to say I really like this pairing. The story was good. Would have been better if there was more Alice and less Crimson Empire though... As for the art, I absolutely loved it. Its different from the other spin offs but it was very much to my liking.
Gray is worried about Alice being alone with the Hatter he tells her he'll visit. Hatter and Gray fight over Alice until she is taken hostage at gunpoint. Gray saves her and they share a kiss.

I loved the stroy of Alice and Gray because in comparison with the others she already knows she is in love in the begining and there is no doubting. Also she is in love wirth for me the ine of the most mature men in the story butr what i think is the most funny about this is that he is doubting for nothing and that let us see an other side of him. Also i have to say that i think Blood always looks good in every sort of design and drawing.
So far Alice's romance with Grey and in this book is my favorite. Absolute fav. I actually loved a guy like Grey once upon a time. I realized he reminded me of him. Which reminded me of which I don't know. Actually reread the book a bit since I was waiting and had little better to do. I'm getting the general idea of the series now, and this wacky dream.
This was good. I mean the art was a bit weird at times and I couldn't tell who was who for a second there. But other than that, this was a good one shot volume. Wish it was a little longer but the rest of the pages seem to be a preview of another series but still. Good volume.
I am not docking stars due to the artwork even if it is a bit awkward. This is probably one of my favorite pairing besides her and boris. It was a fun read. I wish the story was longer than an one shot. I hope there will be more Alice and gray series in the future.
The story is as good as the others in the Alice in the Country of series but again it was almost unbearable to read because of how awful the artwork was drawn.
Fun to read! Pretty short with other stories at the end. Not my favorite artist or match up but still a fun story. Crimson Empire Story and Knight's Knowledge preview at end.
