Why do apocalypses bring out the pervs? I could have done without the creepy mall cop. I mean seriously?! The world around him is falling apart, people are dying, and all he can think about is groping Yoruka. The magical girls continue to bombard Tokyo as our group, with perv mall cop in tow, search for a safe refuge inside a mall. The action scenes are fantastically drawn and extremely gruesome. I'm glad that each of the characters play an important part in the story and aren't just "filler" characters. There is a great cliffhanger at the end which leaves the reader with more questions.

description

5 STARS!!!

Another freakin'tastic volume. Nowhere is safe. The group still trying to search the best place for hide. I couldn't believe there is perv bastard in the middle of apocalypse. Well, this manga has eechi & romance tag so I have to suppress my exasperate. Without any explanation with what the hell is going on, the magical girls have different magic ability. Damn, huh? They could touch someone and turn them into zombie followers. CRAZY!!! Not for the faint-hearted. I enjoyed their desperate journey :))

Another great volume. Got some of the tropes going off, though I won't point them out due to spoilers. However one thing the story could have done without was seeing the girls change, yeah they needed to but seriously doesn't mean we had to perv in on it. The plot is getting a lot more interesting now can't wait to read the next one. Also I think one of my faves is possibly dead....le cry for them.

2.5 stars.

Yoruka's breasts are way too big. That bothers me, because she looks likes she's going to fall over at any moment, dragged down by their weight. Also, I dislike that she is being objectified because of them, and possesses little other personality traits, apart from those directly associated to her cleavage.

While not quite as good as the first volume, Magical Girl Apocalypse continues to be a surprisingly good read. There are some elements I definitely could have done without (the cop, though he does end up being useful, is one of the most loathsome characters I've seen in quite awhile), but other aspects are coming along quite nicely. The action keeps up a good clip, the magical girls continue to be very diverse and interesting in their forms and abilities, and we're starting to get the first clues as to the scope of and reasons behind this magical girl invasion. However, the thing that surprised me most was the character development that took place here.

In a series like this, it's easy to fall into the habit of introducing characters as nothing more than cannon fodder, but Magical Girl Apocalypse is veering away from that cliche. Besides the aforementioned cop, there are a handful of new characters that get introduced in this volume: a deaf boy who's a classmate of the protagonist, a medical student, and a little girl who's lost her parents. Each of them contributes to and influences the group in different ways, but equally as intriguing are the changes taking place in some of the established characters--particularly whatever's really going on with Kaede, one of the bullies.

If you like your over-the-top ultraviolence to have characters who are more than cardboard cutouts (even the cop has a faint hint of depth to him, though he's by far the weakest in this respect), then I can easily recommend this series. Beneath all the fanservice and geysers of blood, there are some complex interpersonal relationships here, if you're willing to take the time to appreciate them.

!!Big TW for rape!!
(cause for some reason in this volume and what I've read onward it like happens a lot, it's not shown but like it's brought up, attempted, and heavily implied a lot)
I have absolutely no idea why I decided to continue with this series. If you've read my review of the first volume of this you know I hated it (still do). But like this series is so bad it's good. Y'know? Y'know?
Ya I also kind of felt like continuing this cause I've heard that weird time stuff happens, and like I love weird time stuff for some reason. So like I was curious so I decided to continue this! The time stuff was interesting.
Sooo I'm pretty sure this series only has like a little over 60 chapters in total so like I think I'm gonna keep reading this un till I either finish it, or something super bad happens that makes me want to drop the series.

Around the halfway point, the collection of incidents of gratuitous violence coalesced into the beginnings of an actual plot with characters with distinguishable personalities. I was about ready to give up on the series, despite loving (don't judge me, it's Junji Ito's fault) some of the really creative gross-out artwork. the head coming out of the head (featured on the cover) is probably my favorite. I have no frame of reference whatsoever for the magical girl subgenre, but I'm betting you don't need to in order to enjoy? appreciate? endure? this series. I wonder if there are inside jokes like in One Punch Man...

I honestly don’t know how to feel about this book. It’s complicated.

Let’s start out with I love this series so far. Way more than I thought I was going to like it in fact. Like I said in my review for the first book in the series I love the twist that they have thrown into the magical girl genre and the “zombie”genre. The art is amazing. The characters are interesting.

That being said let’s get into this. The back story to the magical girls is explained a little here. We get a little info on why they are here and we even get to see a shot of the person that created them plus a little information on who they are. There are less hard to figure out panels in this one. The drawings are much neater than they were in the first issue. There is just as much action but there is a little more dialogue and we get to know the characters a little bit more. As for fan service, is it strange for me to say that there is less and more at the same time? No panty shots that I noticed, but I may have missed them, but they spend way more time on the busty character. Someone needs to tell the artist that boobs don’t work like he thinks they do.

And that ending. Boy howdy that ending. I won’t spoil it but I can see people getting super mad. I can’t wait to see how this plays out the next volume.

Overall I still highly recommend this series. Especially for horror manga fans. Please pay attention to the rating though. This volume adds mild nudity and implies sexual violence to the buckets of gore. Can’t wait to read the next one.

The second installment of Magical Girl Apocalypse takes readers on a captivating journey that delves deeper into the complexities of its characters and the world they inhabit. This volume stands out not only for its engaging narrative but also for its exploration of themes surrounding sexuality and identity, adding layers of intrigue to the magical girl genre.

One of the most compelling aspects of this story is the revelation of the origins of the magical girl. The author skillfully weaves together elements of fantasy and reality, providing insight into the motivations and circumstances that led to her creation. This backstory enriches the narrative, allowing readers to connect with the protagonist on a more profound level.

From intense gunfights to moments of deep reflection, the pacing keeps readers on their toes while inviting them to ponder the deeper implications of the characters' choices. The exploration of sexual themes is handled with nuance, adding a layer of complexity that challenges traditional tropes within the genre.

Overall, Magical Girl Apocalypse: Volume Two is a quick yet thought-provoking read that captivates from start to finish. The blend of action, emotional depth, and exploration of sexuality creates a narrative that is both entertaining and intellectually stimulating. This installment not only keeps the reader engaged but also encourages them to reflect on the multifaceted nature of the characters and their journeys. Whether you're a long-time fan or new to the series, this volume is sure to leave a lasting impression.

On the one hand, Magical Girl Apocalypse isn't really all that good. It overuses a lot of typical anime tropes, it plays off the sexuality of one of the already overtly sexualized characters, and it feels a little light on story from the very beginning, neglecting the more important themes. However...

However...
However...

This story is still a crap ton of fun. I think I love this manga series thus far because it feels like a B horror movie. Everything I mentioned above, the overuse of tropes, the sexuality, the light story, are all elements of "bad horror" movies, and I actually really love that. This is by no means a great book. All of the problems that I mentioned above do exist. But hell, I loved this book when the action picked up. Seriously, this is a bloody, action packed series that, while definitely not perfect, should excite fans of the more silly, over-the-top horror movies of the eighties and nineties. I'm talking Sharknado levels of blood and sass. And the monster designs.... Seriously, I'm a sucker for character design and though the main characters themsleves are pretty boring, Kentaro Sato nailed the designs of the enemies in this book.

This series is definitely not for everyone, but if you enjoy stupid, hilarious horror, this might be the one for you.

¿Para que leer magical girl of the end 2?

So far I'm finding this series meh, but I'm intrigued enough by the story to continue on. Plus they're a quick read and I grabbed the first 6 books from the library so I might as well continue on.

Trigger warning for a rapey scene and a perv that is obsessed with trying to molest unwilling chicks (that whole guy is necessary, but whatever).

Minor annoyance at the unnecessary nudity and objectifying of Yoruka. I get they're trying to show she's a strong independent woman, but I don't need to see her full on breasts while she's changing her shirt to prove she's got the body and is a badass. There was really no point to the nudity, which makes it annoying.

Kii and the other survivors hide out in a mall but find that a parasitic Magical Girl has embedded inside one of them.

I didn't like this volume nearly as much as the first but it was mainly because of the character of the perverted cop and all the time he spent on trying to touch enormous bosomed girl's 'funbags'. Yuck. I'm hoping the next volume will be less of that. The violence continues nonstop.

Second book, no character development, no understanding of what this game is and I'm getting bored. I didn't mind the cop, in fact I think if a real apocalypse was taking place, more people would be acting just like that. Doing whatever they wanted with no justice system, no police, military, consequence / safety type system that we take for granted. Very much the purge. Due to the lack of story, they author thought some clothes changing fan service would entertain me instead, it did not.

This series is seriously gross. I didn’t really care much about the gore (and it is super gory) but there are multiple rape attempts/scenes and one of the main characters is a necrophilic rapist and pedophile. This series is frankly disgusting and you shouldn’t waste your time on it or anything else the author has written. How the hell did this get published???

Content warnings: Shooting, gore, so much gore, body horror, attempted rape, necrophilia

Our protagonists seek shelter in a shopping center where a perverted rent-a-cop is the only source of firearms and a little girl has become possessed by the magical girls. It's brutal, no one is safe, but wow is the perversion a bit much for me.

Furthering the lore of the Magical Girls we see new forms and even new variations. We even get a slight peak at what’s going on, which leads me to wonder so much more. I also really liked the new magical girl we got to see in this volume towards the end, and it makes me wonder if there’s something more powerful than that in this “experiment” that they are running.

Tw sexualizacion infantil, violacion, asesinatos

While initially a cool concept with great gore and horror this series just isn’t for me in terms of the portrayal of the underage girls. There is a LOT of children being shown sexually, nude, or doing the ‘ahegao’ face and I don’t fuck with that. This isn’t even like teens, I mean a legit CHILD.
So yeah I won’t be continuing this because what the actual FUCK

I can't help thinking about the Batman series from 1960's television when I read this. It displays the same kind of camp humor. It doesn't seem to be serious, but there are humorous elements to the situations.
