The true value of diamonds isn't measured in carats. It's measured in blood.
Zara Cole didn't come to Sierra Leone to die. But the American humanitarian aid worker has something the Phantom wants – a diamond that shouldn't exist. Now Africa's most feared warlord has given her forty-eight hours to reveal its location. No one has ever survived saying no.
Caleb, a preacher with no last name whose ministry leaves blood in its wake, is hunting the Phantom to repay a debt from a far-flung battlefield. His unlikely partner is Jessica Middleton, an ambitious journalist who’s chasing the story that could make her career. She dreams of a Pulitzer. He dreams of vengeance.

Continuing Exploitation of a Nation Read as ARC ebook. Dark tale of problems faced by Sierra Leone's post colonial civil war survivors: Blood Diamonds, corrupt politicians and local criminal overlords on top of the general poverty. Vivid descriptions of violence and more, believable characters and often laugh out loud dialogue. Excellent addition to the series and already looking forward to the next.
Diamonds, sketchy mine tunnels, and ruthless opponents hound the Preacher. Set in Africa’s Sierra Leone, it was an unexpected site for the character’s unique talents.
Tightly written, this is the best book yet in this fifth book of the series.
Like the other ones in the Preacher series this one had me gripped right from the start. The Phantom takes Caleb to Sierra Leone running into an old colleague whose daughter has gone missing who turns out has been taken prisioner by The Phantom
I thought this was quite a slow start, but I appreciate it was to build the story and set the scene. Although I liked the story, I would say it's my least favourite.
A really good read. The Preacher ends up facing off with the Phantom. There is corruption, Diamonds and kidnapping so plenty of action going on. Well worth five stars. I can't wait to see what happens next.
This is one of my favorite series of all time. It is filled with action and I have loved every book in the series and hope that these books keep coming.
