Read this Syrena Legacy short story and the first chapter of Of Neptune, the final book in New York Times-bestselling author Anna Banks' trilogy!
Emma, who is half human and half Syrena, has a day apart from her Syrena love, Galen. Emma doesn't plan to spend the day with Galen's opinionated and bossy sister, Rayna, but she can't quite get out of it, either. And Galen will appreciate her attempt to bond with Rayna, right? But when Rayna's unpredictable antics put them in danger, can they rely on each other to get themselves out of it?
New York Times Bestselling author of The Syrena Legacy series.
Grew up in a town called Niceville. No, seriously. And yes, everyone from Niceville is generally nice.
Let's see, things about me....My writer's cat is a mini wiener dog named Puckdoo. I can't walk in high heels, but I'm amazing at standing still in them. I'm the only person in Florida without a tan. I stole a car when I was 12 years old and drove across three state lines with it. Yeah. That's about it.
I'm kind of glad that this was super short because it was honestly kind of pointless to read. I don't really understand why Girls Day Out had to be a book in this series but I guess if she really wanted it then I can accept it.
So this novella, which is about 30 pages, is about Emma and Rayna hanging about and doing girl stuff throughout the day. At least that was the plan until a girl's doll goes overboard. Then it's all about them trying to give this little girl her doll back.
I do like Rayna and Emma but this was kind of like meh. It was cute and enjoyable. However, I could also have done without reading or knowing it existed. I'm obviously going to continue on with this series and I can't wait to read the next book.
Other than that, it was a bit 'Meh'. Emma goes to hunt down a cruise ships with Rayna, they get sidetracked by a doll that was dropped to the sea and decide to find its owner, Rayna messes around a lot.
Not a necessary need to understand the other books, just a short look into a girls day out with Rayna and Emma.
I liked this little interlude to the series. As much as Rayna annoys me, I'd like to see her and Emma get to be better friends, so it was amusing to get to read a story about just the two of them hanging out. If you're a fan of the series, you should definitely give it a read.
Haven't read the other books, so at times it was confusing, but I got through it and I understood most of it.
This was a really fun and short book about 2 girls who go out. They decide to go hunt for treasures (in other words, things that fall from boats/ships). However instead of treasure they find a doll and decide to give it back to the girl who owns it.
I really despised the girl and her mother. 2 strangers come to you and give you back a (soaking) doll and what do you do? Accuse them, and call guards and all that on them... Wait why?
I liked the main girl a lot, she was funny and interesting. I didn't like her friend that much though. Found her a bit to snobby and stuck up.
Will I be reading this series? Yes. I am really interested after reading this and I love mermaid books. :)
Rayna está loca, y toda la situación con la muñeca, desde que la encontraron hasta que la cuelgan en el anzuelo (cosa que me da un risa) se pudo ver el lado infantil de ella. Divertido y entretenido, se disfruta leyéndolo rápido.

A short but funny novella. In this short story we follow Emma and Rayna, a mermaid with a snorkel set, in their 'girl's day out' that mainly involves a doll. Humorous and witty from the start, this novella is a fast-paced-fast-read.
Just a short story about what Emma and Rayna do when they find themselves without the boys and decide to go treasure hunting. The blurb isn't entirely correct. Emma didn't try to get out of spending time with Rayna and they weren't ever in danger.
This was just pure hilarity from start to finish. Rayna and Emma having a full out Girls Day. I can't really say it because of spoilers but I am SO glad to see them getting some alone time.
I have to agree with some of the reviewers in that this novella seemed a bit pointless. I'm all for Rayna and Emma bonding, especially since one day they will be in-laws. But Rayna always seems to come across as a "Pansy Parkinson" for me.
The whole story about them trying to return a lost doll to a small girl (and then the way that whole thing turned out) really irritated me. It seemed as just an excuse for the girls to break on a cruise ship. I can't say that I was terrible impressed.
I think what disappoints me the most about this series is the lack of world building the author has done. She has this entire kingdom (technically two) of mermaids and yet doesn't really tell me what it looks like. I know certain laws but I have no idea what the kingdoms really look like. I was expecting more. I thought this one would maybe give me that but no.
I enjoyed this short story. It was a fun little adventure for the girls and let us extended the story a little and see more into the characters lives. My only complaint was the choppy transitions between chapters. Even though it wasn’t a full story the writing could be more fluid. Each chapter switch was like a scene ending and had large time lapses in between which I found kinda awkward and distracting.
