The Visions of the Children: The Apparitions of the Blessed Mother at Medjugorje (Third Edition, 2007) documents "All the Messages of the Blessed Mother and the Latest Unfolding of God's Plan for the Human Race from Medjugorje" (in Boznia-Herzegovina, formerly a part of Yugoslavia) with six apparitioners who have been receiving visions of and messages from the Blessed Virgin Mary. The book relates the Blessed Mother's messages to the six visionaries from their beginning in June 1981 through June 2006.
Why is Mary, the mother of God, communicating to us in this manner? In her message on May 25, 1987, the Blessed Mother presented the following message to the world through the visionaries at Medjugorje:
"Dear children, I invite everyone to start living in God's love. I am your eternal mother and therefore I want to lead you all to perfect holiness. I want every one of you to be happy here on earth, and every one of you to be with me in heaven. This is, dear children, the reason for my coming here and my desire. Thank you for your response to my call."
While the visions at Medjugorje have not been officially recognized by the Roman Catholic Church for "technical" reasons, many thousands of pilgrims make the journey to the mountains in Boznia-Herzegovina each year to pray. Regarding Medjugorje, Pope St. John Paul II said "Medjugorje, Medjugorje. It's the spiritual heart of the world." Later he remarked: "Approve all that is related to Medjugorje." And finally: "Authorize everything that regards Medjugorje."
This book is certainly an important read for anyone interested in the Blessed Virgin Mary, Marian apparitions, or Mejugorgje.
