Padre

Rate this book

Contiene situazioni potenzialmente disturbanti, linguaggio forte e violenza esplicita.

***5 ‘Bless Me Father For I Have Sinned’ Stars***

OMG! This book was EVERYTHING the author warned us it would be and more and I ADORED it all. It was brutally irreverent, filthy (which had even me raising my eyebrows a few times and only served to make me keep turning those pages) and offensive. But it was also filled with blunt honesty, humor, a whole lot of heart and characters you won’t be able to get out of your head for a long time.

I adored Father Frank. I did. I wholeheartedly admit it. Yes, he is the worst preacher you’ll ever meet and has a filthy mind that only one with just as filthy a mind, or at least a healthy respect for it, can truly appreciate, but he is so much more. I loved seeing all aspects of what made up this complex and smexy as hell man because in the end he may just be the perfect book boyfriend. As for the beautiful girl who captures his attention? Well...you’ll have to read the book but I adored her too and is the perfect for Frank. Their journey to their HEA is definitely one for the ages and not one to miss!

I feel as if I have to kowtow to Ms. Wild for this balls to the wall, unrepentant and wonderfully unapologetic book. I knew quite well that she when she goes, she goes big, but this book right here is a true testament to the kind of author she is in that she writes what she wants and if you don’t like it then you can just move on. This book won’t be for everyone, so take the author’s note as the God’s honest, vow on your mama’s grave, truth and if you just can’t, then you can’t. But if you’ve ever fantasized about doing the filthiest of the filthy with a hot preacher, then don’t hesitate to pick this one up, with your B.O.B. close at hand, and enjoy the ride!

Forgive them Father for they have sinned.

Frank, a preacher.
Laura, a beautiful woman.
One moment in the confessional.
A dirty act committed.
They couldn't help it.
They both needed it.
The desire too strong.
They needed that one moment like they both needed air.

But what they don't realise is that their paths are going to cross in the most dark and dangerous way.
What they don't know is they have a connection, a past they already both share.
A past shrouded in blood, evil, darkness and death.
A past that will come back to haunt them both.
A past that will become their reality.
Secrets will be revealed.
Evil will surface.
Death will come.
Blood will be shed.
Revenge will be taken.
But at what cost?

Welcome to Frank and Laura's world.

I am literally lost for words....Literally.
I have absolutely no clue what to say.
I am speechless.
I absolutely loved it.

Dark and seriously twisted.
Sinfully delicious.
Naughty and humorous.
Filthy and dirty.
Wrong, just wrong.
But god what an absolute brilliant read.
I couldn't put it down.
I loved every single page turned.
I couldn't get enough.
I just wanted more and more.
Yes greedy.....Isn't that a sin?
Maybe so, but Clarissa Wild absolutely nailed this novel to the point that it completely consumed me.
I just couldn't get enough.
Now granted it may not be for everyone, because after all this is a novel about a preacher who for lack of a better word is just plain sinful, but I honestly can't recommend it highly enough.

Go on, I know you want to.
Read it guys, you will not be disappointed, even if it is a sin.

EXCERPT:

“This is my sin,” she says, and she licks her fingers and rubs them across her nipples. She moans, and my dick bounces up and down in my pants.
“Is it wrong?” she asks, biting her lip.
I blink a couple of times to try to keep my composure, but I’m burning up with desire. Fuck me; I want to reach through the gaps of the lattice partition so badly.
“It feels wrong,” she whispers, and her hand travels down her body. “Tell me to stop.”
“Only God can tell you what to do,” I answer.
What kind of answer is that? Fuck.
“I can’t speak to him the way you do,” she says, eyeing me. “So … intimately.”
So she did hear everything I said.
Damn.
Her hand dives between her legs, underneath her skirt, and my cock bursts with need. “I believe you, Frank. You said needs were okay. And I have a lot of needs.”
I lick my lips. “Oh, I can definitely believe that.”
“And I feel … like I need this.” She rubs herself while she looks at me. It’s like she’s not even ashamed anymore. And it’s all my fault. “Like you need this,” she adds.
I frown, rubbing my lips together because I don’t know what to do or say. I can’t admit it. But fuck, do I want her badly. However, I’m a preacher. I shouldn’t even be thinking about this.
“You snooped on me,” I say. “In the chapel. How much did you hear?”
“Enough.” The left side of her lip tips up into a smile. “Was that bad?”
For some reason, it makes me wanna smile too. Guess the cat’s out of the bag. “Maybe.”
“Bad … I like bad,” she murmurs, biting her lip again while she spreads her legs. “I like it when it’s wrong.”
“Is that why you did this before? In the bathroom?”
She nods, and her hand dives down her panties. “I know this is what you want. What you’ve been thinking of all this time … Me,” she says. “C’mon, say it.”
I shake my head. “You know I can’t. We’re in a church.”
“No one has to find out …” she whispers, pressing her fingers to her lips. “It could be our dirty little secret.”
I try to ignore the voice in my head telling me not to cave in, but it’s already too late. My hand rests atop my dick, and I start rubbing it through my clothes.
She closes her eyes and leans her head back against the hard wood, and I take the opportunity to let my eyes glide up and down her body, enjoying the view. She touches herself so seductively that I immediately find myself rubbing faster and faster, trying to keep up the pace. I imagine how her body would look naked. How slick and wet it would be when I brushed my dick along her lips. I can picture it all, and that makes this all so much more frightening. Because … if I already gave into this, there’s no telling what I’ll do next time I see her.
“Fuck …” she murmurs, licking her lips. A soft moan escapes her mouth, and she adjusts herself so I can see her even better. My hand dives into my pants because I’m unable to stop myself any longer.
When she briefly opens her eyes and sees me jerking off, she purrs, “Do you like this?”
“I’d be lying if I said I didn’t …” I mutter, stroking my length. “But it’s wrong, and you know it.”
“Then why are we doing it?” she asks.
“Because this is our dirty little secret,” I hiss, feeling the veins in my dick throb with excitement. “And I need to see just how naughty you can get.”
She grins and slides her panties to the side with her index finger, showing me her naked pussy. And fuck me, it makes me one hungry motherfucker. What I wouldn’t give to be able to suck on her clit.
“Is it wrong that we’re doing this?” she asks. “Because I’m so damn wet right now.”
“Do you even care people are just a few feet away from us?” I ask.
She shakes her head, grinning even more. “That only adds to the excitement.”
God, this fucking woman … she sure knows how to make a guy’s heart throb. And his dick too.
At this point, I really don’t care anymore.
Screw the consequences.
Fuck morals.
I’ve thrown every rule out the window.
I rip down my zipper, unbutton my pants, and pull my dick out of my boxer shorts.
Her eyes widen and immediately focus on my length; her lips parting as if she’s preparing to receive it.
“My eyes are up here,” I muse, smiling.

descriptionThis cover is HOT. It's not at all how I pictured the hero. I had Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper) in mind the entire time I was reading this. That said it IS a good representation of the story. Great composition as well.description

descriptionI really enjoyed this one. It was simply a totally entertaining read from beginning to end. It reminded me a TINY bit of the TV show PREACHER hence me picturing the hero as Jesse Custer.

description

It was well written and nicely paced. It was humorous. It was naughty. It was dirty. It was taboo (but I wouldn't say this one was dark in the least). It had smokin' hot sex scenes. It had twists and turns (some more obvious than others). It had action. It had interesting side characters. It had a likable heroine. It had a VERY likable hero. I would have liked a better epilogue but apparently, you can sign up for the author's newsletter to get an extended one (don't get me started). All in all, just a delightful way to spend a few hours. Two thumbs up from yours truly.description

3 Candles Don't Go There Stars

 photo sinbegin_zpsa4czwvhn.gif

Frank is an ex-gang member who found salvation in a small community church run by a lovely older woman who became his mother figure. He becomes the church's 'Preacher', he is not ordained or anything so is free to live as he wishes. After some horrific things happen to him due to his past gang life he turns to the bottle to get by. This book is entirely from Frank's POV which did become a problem for me. I also did not find it Taboo in any way, a little sick in places but I can see if you were a religious person why you may have problems with it.

 photo whatkindofpreacher_zpshjkb1jt7.gif

Laura well lets just say this girl has a couple of issues she needs to sort out and I don't think some alcoholic preacher will help. Everytime I thought it was going to get good something unrealistic and stupid would happen to spoil it. It is a good story and had loads of potential but in my opinion was let down by the writing.

It would have been good to get some of Laura's POV, it was hard to follow being all Franks POV not allowing me as the reader to have any emotion towards Laura.

 photo laura_zpsggnrznd3.gif

So this was the story of a preacher getting a second chance at a life after stuffing it up royally the first time. I can't pinpoint the exact reason why I didn't enjoy this much, just a mixture of only Frank's POV and the writing choices made by the author. You know your not that into a book when you don't even bother with the epilogue.

Another thing, no you should not pick up random candles or crosses and shove them there!!!! That's just dirty and yuck, go to a sex shop and you'll find something much more pleasurable.

Genre: Erotic Thriller/Suspense
Type: Standalone
POV: First Person - Male
Rating:

Frank Romero was a preacher losing his grip. Coming from a checkered past, he turned a new leaf when he was given a second chance to live a meaningful life. But the ghosts from the past were never too far behind, so when he saw an opportunity for a distraction, he readily took it.

Laura Espino was the beauty who caught his attention. She was like the embodiment of the devil in an angel's skin luring him into temptations. But behind her heavenly distractions, lurked a past that could burn them into fiery inferno.

I chose to read this book purely for the taboo element. I wanted unapologetic filth and not even ashamed of it lol!

God, I’m such a filthy fuck, but I can’t help it. This is who I am, and nothing will change that.

I like Frank's darkly sarcastic personality. He was amusing and wasn't ashamed of who he was. I like how he inspired others in similar situation and helped them find purpose. However there were elements in his personality/position that just didn't fit the storyline properly.

There’s something about her … something that changes my entire mood. Something that makes me wanna be a rebel again. Makes me wanna be bad.

Laura had nurturing tendencies and it suited her situation. She was also a go getter. She wanted Frank and she worked for it. But I wanted to know more of her motivation behind her hot pursuit.

Before reading, I didn't expect the story to have thriller/suspense elements so I was pleasantly surprised by that. I like the fast pace actions and the book had huge potential. However besides being predictable the scenes were not properly elaborated.

And at this point, I honestly don’t fucking care what’s allowed and what isn’t. I crossed any line by miles the moment I sucked her clit on the altar, so if I’m doing it dirty, might as well go all the way.

The sex scenes were hot and blasphemous just the way I like 😜. But I wish there were more of it especially the blasphemous kind haha!

She’s my dirty angel, and no amount of anger can ever replace that wantonness I feel when I’m around her.

Father is a story of a man going back full circle righting the wrongs of his past. It would appeal to readers looking for a taboo read with a dash of humor.

3.5* i feel so bad STARS!!

Review @ Midnight Romance

HOLY SHIT! Clarissa Wild definitely blow my mind. Since she announced the story, I'm completely intrigued and am so excited to read the book. I really loved taboo elements and since the story about a religious figure, well... *cough* here's my dirty review...

description
“Jesus Christ, I beg your forgiveness … because, by God, this woman will make me commit more sins than I ever have.”

Father Frank is very unusual priest. He insisted to be called preacher. Yes, I believe there's different between the title. CMIIW, priest is more formal with education and oath. But Frank is more like 'unofficial'. He couldn't help to drunk himself with alcohol. Even he's a mess, Frank still help people around him. When Frank is about to give his Sunday sermon, he saw a beautiful woman in his church.

Laura seems like a good girl. Her life isn't perfect but she's very responsible and taking care of her brothers. There isn't much info about her but I already felt something fishy. Laura's confession really surprised me, also Frank. Anyway, I liked their slow-burn chemistry. She kept fishing him until that happened.

Their first shenanigans happened unexpectedly. Laura is very bold woman to confront Frank's lust towards her. She knows what he needs and they didn't ashamed of it. Half of the story was really torture for me. There is no romance between them; only lust. Oh my gosh... What happened in the church? Lord, forgive me... FUCKIN' HOT!!
“So you want me to fuck you?”
“Is that wrong? Is it wrong that I’ve been fantasizing about being fucked by a preacher?”
“Fuck no,... I’m about to make both our fantasies come true.”
description

As much I enjoyed their sexy times, I couldn't help to hate Frank at first. He was an immature ass. Whining all the times. He's really annoyed me at some point. However, he start to open himself to Laura, about the tragedy happened to him. It was a nightmare and still Frank couldn't forgive himself.

The story told from male's POV, Frank; which is rare and I kinda liked it. However, the plot quickly turns into some mafia/gangster. Really over-the-top with the suspense but still okay, though. I wouldn't remember the story and couldn't care less. Their filthy sex is absolutely a win for me. The second time (CMIIW) they did, it was a angry make-up sex. Very much taboo.

Overall, the real story was decent and didn't WOW me, but I really appreciate the spices on the sex. But if you're a bit freaky about religiousness, then this book is NOT FOR YOU! A BIG NO unless you wanna get triggered. Anyway, it isn't dark like the ambiance for the cover but definitely hardcore ended up with rainbow.

I'm so disappointed, but here's the original review/rant with spoilers: https://readingunderstreetlamps.wordp...

What an absolutely disappointing trainwreck of a book.

Frank and Laura made no sense to me. I get it- he’s hot, she’s hot, they’re attracted. But dude, he killed her innocent mom, and dragged her body with him and buried it and never gave her family to say goodbye (and no, I don’t care how much he repents after that, someone kills my pregnant mother, and I find out that I’m sleeping with that guy? He’s getting filleted. And I’m gonna start with his mini-me), and then Laura’s dad kidnapped Frank’s wife and son, and then raped and killed her. So yeah, I don’t get what they are doing together. I don’t see the material where they fall in love. What do they fall in love with each other for anyways! Her habit of stalking him, and listening to his private shit? His habit of shoving church candles and crosses down her c*nt and ass?

Their entire relationship was a mess for me. But even worse, remember I said Laura’s father had kidnapped Frank’s baby son? Yeah turns out the son is alive and he is Laura’s brother. As in they adopted him.

So tell me, what would you do if you find a child you thought was dead for 6 years is alive, and you know him?

Well you and I, we’d praise god and spend our rest of the days with the kid right?

Well not Frank. He’s just tell the kid that he was his real father, and then go on to ignore him to eyefuck the kid’s adopted sister.

Yeeaaah.

Now are you seeing why I hated this book?

When I first heard about this it was on tiktok the words "Candle up the butt" I was like wait what lol. So here we are and I wish we had both POVs but we only get Frank's.

Frank isn't like any Preist/Father you know about or see he's a drunk he has a mouth on him and his talks in the church are are messy and wow..since he lost his way because his wife was murder and son was to... So his faith keeps getting darker plus before he was a Preist he had a dark past of a gang member... now he sees someone at the church who gains his attention and boy there private confessions are yummy!!! Laura idk how I felt about her.. some things she does just meh to me.. idk what it was that had me not fully enjoy her but she's a decent good person.. and they get deeper but there is some tension when secerts come out.. and more drama is thrown at them some good and some bad.

hawttt sex on the alter, dirty words shared, candles up the ass oh and my fave crucifix up a hole ;) mauahah dirty birds...

Angst, sorta ow (dead wife is mentioned), no cheating, Drama, sexy times, no virgins

"I'm already going to hell anyway. Might as well make it a fun trip."

I am not one little bit sorry that I jumped on this book the second I saw it was going to be about a preacher. Not only that but this book came with a warning that it would be "raw and vulgar" so you know I was practically salivating to get my hands on it.

And I was not disappointed because once Frank and Laura moved forward with their forbidden affair I thought my Kindle was going to catch on fire. I loved the taboo factor of their encounters and the thrill of reading about them sneaking around. It was pure attraction and had me captivated for the majority of this book.

However I did have some issues with the beginning of this story so my rating is only a 3 Star. It seemed to take forever for us to actually get that sexiness factor that I was expecting from the very start. Instead the beginning felt like it was just Frank constantly getting drunk and in his own weird way helping people.

Overall, definitely a book I would recommend for anyone looking for a sexy and taboo story.

I m actually quite surprised with this one, I know what to expect from Clarissa Wild, having read her previous books!

Yes, there are somewhat shocking moments/sex scenes in this book (well if you wanna keep it in the realms of the real world instead of fiction, even though nothing seems to phase me on the shocking level lately *shrugs*) BUT that s why there's a warning, so if you are easily offended then dont read this book!

Behind the "shocking, vulgar and filthy, and maybe even filled with disgrace to some", there s an actual crime, thrilling and captivating drama and i fuckin liked that part very much, even though there could have been a bit more of an emotional connection between the characters, the action and the twists in the plot were enough for me to keep things interesting and keeping me involved along with it!
It’s filthy. It’s vulgar. It’s downright offensive.
But it’s oh so damn delicious with a capital D

So, it's both, a warning and an invitation!

Warning aside, for me, this was interesting in a general sense of a good storytelling implemented with gritty, raw, rough sexual release with, to some, offensive elements and yet there s a punch line hidden in between the takes, revealing a story of pain, dealing/coping with grief of the aftermaths from made mistakes...wrong decisions, penance and redemption all rolled into twisty drama!

Re-read as an adult in my 20s.

For context, i first read this book as a teenager, after i had finished Priest and wanted more forbidden priest content.

REVIEW:

What?

Was i on shrums when i first read this?

How did it end up with a 3 star?!

I blame my naive teenage brain!!!

That's why i went for a re-read on this one, because now that I have listened to it, I honestly cannot understand where my previous 3 star rating came from!

Lmao. This was a certified mess.

Book can't decide if mmc is a priest or a preacher... sometimes he's both... and neither?

They call him "father" even though he's not a priest and he doesn't correct them...

He killed the fmc's mother!!!! Lmao her mother, and right after she finds out hes her mother's murderer, she jumps into bed with him and they proceed to have one of the most boring, and worst sex scenes ive ever read.

What? What kind of—

Mmc and fmc have zero chemistry.

Nothing felt "forbidden" as the real Priest trope should feel...

This was so laughable lmao.

Anyway!

Haha, Father Bell, they will never be you, no matter how hard they try!

Tyler Bell remains undefeated!

Priest by Sierra Simone remains the standard!!! 😆

DNF at 30% ... Definitely a "very wrong read" for me!

Don't ask me why I ever started it... What happens here is I think "curiosity killed the cat!"

description

Yeap, I needed to know what the fuss about it all was. I am curious like that!

And I saw that it is too much for me... too dirty, too sinful... too much everything...

Nothing I enjoyed...

As we have been warned by the writer at the end of the blurb, I don't want to rate this book, but I would give it -5 if I did.

My personal warning for the readers like me:

Please take the author's warning into consideration... seriously... because the content is even worse than her warning, and definitely not delicious for me as she promotes...

Nope, too much for me .. I am out!

If you read it and if it gets better somehow, I really couldn't care less, so don't let me know :)))))

The book was deeper and less dirty than I expected after reading the blurb.

I won't complain about religious aspect, it was clear from the blurb and it was my decision to read it.

And I won't dwell on much violence in this story, it didn't bother me much.
Revenge is not my pet peeve.

But the fact that
H killed h's mother and she forgave him like after 5 minutes she found out and let him f**k her, that's just disturbing.

How could she forgive him?
How could a person forgive the murderer of his/her mother?

HE KILLED HER INNOCENT PREGNANT MOTHER!

AND SHE FORGAVE HIM AND LOVED HIM?

Sorry, it's more than dark, it's more than immoral.
It's INHUMAN!
IMO.

I am definitely in the minority on this one. As much as this book was hot, I was just not able to get past a few issues that really mattered more than just the hot sex.

Frank is battling his own demons that leave him a little less god-fearing. But Mother and the church is all that he has left after he lost everything. Enter Laura, the woman tempting him from the pews while he drunkenly makes his way through mass.

I will give that this book is hot and it does push the taboo nature of involving a church in an erotic story – but I struggled with this one. Big time. And it wasn’t because it was taboo.

By 38% the twist was completely given away. I remember looking down to see if I was near the end of the book, there was no way that – that many clues would be given so early to pretty much spell out the WHOLE story. I tend to try to figure shit out – but I really don’t want to guess right, you know?

But what really killed this was that given the nature of this ‘reveal’ the lack of seriousness was off. I mean, some major news breaks and within moments jokes are being made. Any chance of this story having depth was ruined in those moments. Toss in that the action scenes lacked the feel of imagery and just felt like words on a page – I was not a fan of this one at all.

Now having said what did not work for me – there is no doubt this book is hot and maybe, just maybe this was a one-off for me given that I’ve heard wonderful things about this author. But I have to just chalk this one up to being about the heat and not the story – and it not being for me as I can see several reviewers who loved the book.

Frank Romero is a preacher with a checkered past. Upon being given a second chance, he found solace and direction at church until his family was taken from him. Torn apart from the loss, Frank drinks away his problems and loses focus on all he holds dear. That is, until he sees one parishioner who tempts Frank with feelings he hasn’t felt in over six years.

“I’m stuck in my own torment. The only solace I’ve found lately is in the alcohol. And that girl who I saw.”

Laura is a compassionate and single woman raising her two younger brothers. Upon attending church, she is attracted to the preacher and she makes her intentions known from the start. While Laura seems like an angel on the outside, her past isn’t free from sin.

“Well, you can never be safe enough. Especially when you intend to fuck a guy like me because I fuck often and I like pussy a lot.”

The connection between Frank and Laura is sexually charged from the outset. With Frank’s propensity for kinkery and invisible boundaries on any level, he definitely enters the taboo arena with some memorably steamy moments. To his initial surprise, Laura matches his desire and that further fuels his need to possess her in every way.

“Hope you’ve said your prayers because after I fuck your brains out, you won’t be able to come to church and thank God for your perfect fuck for an entire week.”

For Frank, life hasn’t always been easy but he’s learned to roll with fate and accept the consequences of his behavior; however, he is surprised to discover just how significant a role Laura plays in his present. As the plot unfolds forcing Frank to confront his past, he must make a decision about exacting revenge or protecting those close to him. Simultaneously, Laura tries to process how their lives commingle and how they can move forward.

“The choice between good and evil is currently dividing me into pieces. I don’t want to lose her ...”

Told solely from Frank’s POV, the plot and tone moves at a certain pace that allows for different emotions in sync with Frank’s life. In the beginning, it felt that Frank was a lost cause but with a few comeuppance moments, he seemed to evolve in his own unique way. I especially liked how Frank was unabashedly honest and wasn’t a hypocrite about his past.

With some plot shifts steeped in action and revenge, most questions were resolved but there were two big issues that were conveniently not addressed for my liking. While some of the action and plot felt a bit predictable, I was hoping for a certain additional conflict to occur between Frank and Laura.

There were times when the story felt like it was just grazing the surface but it still left me rooting for Frank and what he desperately seeks. In regard to the taboo element, it felt a bit diluted for me due to the nature of Frank’s position but the author did push some boundaries that definitely appealed to the kinkster in me.

Father is a story that offers a second chance at love and would appeal to those that seek some action in their romance, appreciate unconventional characters and have a dark sense of humor.

This wasn't bad at all. I was so afraid to read it after reading some reviews and after reading Clarissa's warning!
But this was a perfectly adorable erotic romance. The reason I liked it might possibly be because I hate religion and I didn't care that they did some very unreligious things in that church ;)
It was an adorable and very moving story too. Ok, it was also very bloody and criminal and whatnot, but I really enjoyed reading it. ☺

Having never before read a book by Clarissa Wild I wasn't sure quite what to expect, well Father is absolutely filthy, I mean it's totally one of the dirtiest books I've ever read and I devoured every naughty word.
I will just say that if you are a tall religious, or easily offended, this is probably not going to be the read for you, so my advice then would be give Father a wide berth you have been warned.
And for my fellow degenerates well your in for a real treat get ready for a fun-filled ride.
So our preacher here Frank, (not a priest mind) after terribly tragic circumstances is wallowing in drink and his guilt.
he's trying to run his adoptive mother's church, very half-heartedly I might add, but has so lost his way and is just about ready to jack it all in.
Enter Laura and her brothers and things are about to get interesting, hold on tight.
These two lovers practically set the page alight with their raunchy antics, neither one is shy when it comes to expressing their desires and wants.
But there are obstacles to climb before are two lovers can get their HEA and with secrets just waiting to emerge it's gonna be a rocky road.
So These two, Well Frank is Loud, foul mouthed and dirty, he drinks like a fish, smokes loads, he's got tattoos and knows how to take care of himself due to his former young antics when he was part of a gang.
Laura knows what she wants and is not shy about getting it, she is used to taking care of her two younger brothers and is also on the run from her father.
In fact, Frank and Laura are very much alike, both knowing tragedy and loss, this shared grief brings them closer together.
Two kindred spirits.
So this was a great read, as much as I loved the corruption and raw animal need in father, this story is a lot more than just sex, it told a very emotional in depth story that really got to me.
I adored the flawed characters and really felt a connection with both Frank and Laura.
Also, this had great secondary players and was a really easy flowing read.
So if you like your action raw and your men flawed and damaged well give Father a go I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

First of all... The warning about this book should be taken seriously because .... yes, there are definitely some erotic scenes that go way past decadent. This Preacher man IS BAD....enough to make my heart skip a beat or two.
Frank spends most of his time trying to dull the pain of his past by climbing in and then out of the bottle long enough to stand in front of his congregation where one morning his eyes fell upon her. She was breathtaking and the looks she's sending him.... strangers one minute and lovers the next... She gives him erotic and he kicks up a level. Their perfect together, right up to when the past comes knocking, but who's past?
Are you ready? Because things are about to go sideways!
This is a story of soul crushing loss, revenge, murder, sinister violence, learning to forgive and retribution.
I read this in one sitting, simply because I could not put it down. I'm never disappointed with anything from this Author. There's always that tweak, those twisted something's she always surprises her readers with.

Ouch. This was seriously painful to read. This was my first (and last) Clarissa Wild book.

My negative review has nothing to do with the religious aspect of this book. I'm not even slightly religious and even if I was, there was a warning that this may not be the book for you -if you are- below the blurb. If anyone writes a negative review about this book based on issues they had with the hero being a preacher or his faith (or, lack there of) they weren't paying attention and that review isn't fair to the author.

Nope, my dislike for this book was because of the seriously ridiculous ad juvenile dialogue and pretty silly bad 80's action flick story line. The hero is a preacher (how, I don't know) and the heroine is a parishioner...or customer? I have no idea what you call church goers. Moving on: H&h have lots of dirty taboo monkey sex (tired of virgin heroines? You'll like her, she's pretty much the opposite of that hahaha) there's shoot-um-up dramatic action and so forth, some "twists" the end. I'm not sure if it was because it was like having a root canal for me to get through this book or if it was just a long book but it felt long. REALLY long, like please make this end long.

Other reviewers give a better summary of the story than I do, if you want more details, check those out. Especially since my review isn't the popular opinion. But here's some quick points about the book since you're here.

1.) Cheating? Nope.
2.) Cliffhanger? No, thank god. I'm pretty sure I'd have ripped my eyes out before I read a second book.
3.) HEA? Nope, HFN (Happy For Now) ending so there's a tiny bit of closure on their "relationship" or whatever that was.
4.) Graphic violence or anything that might make you cringe? Yep. If you're touchy you might wanna nope outta this one.
6.) Sexual content? How hot was it? Too much? Not enough? Every opportunity the author saw to have the couple do or say something to take advantage of the taboo aspect of a frisky preacher she takes. I'm sure most found it hot, I found it awkward. His juvenile "dirty talk" just kinda made me wince,
7.) Would I recommend this book to my friends? Nope. Look at my other reviews for tons of legit great romances.
8.) Premise/Trope? Second chance romance? Friends to lovers? No real trope outside of the taboo "religious man getting dirty" thing she has going. It's more of an "Action" story than a romance.
9.) POV? Hero only.

Grab your Rosary and your wine glass!!! This was damn dirty HAWT! Father Frank I have a confession to make.

This is a taboo wild read. Love it! What I am thinking is that I am addicted to preacher/Priest Taboo! (Did I just write that)? In this story you get all of the feels. Grit, passion, taboo and naughtiness. It just makes for a great fun read. For my cover whores, it just does wonder for the book. The graphic design is just icing on the cake for this one. Take it out for a spin, you won't be sorry.

I've read Clarissa before so I decided to try this one on for size.
Frank is a preacher with a pretty fucked up past. He drinks a lot, fights even more, but has a cynical humor about him that kept a smile on my face.
Laura is a gal with a fucked up past of her own. Do a little dirty in the confessional; get a little stalkery and we have a cool book.
They were intense together as a couple (as coupley as they could get I guess) and it made for a really great story line.
I definitely liked it.

Wow. After reading that, I feel like *I* need to go to confession!

This book was flat out filthy and raunchy in parts, made me feel a tiny bit guilty about reading it, but not enough to make me stop! It also had a very real storyline in it, and Frank has some seriously dark skeletons in his closet.

I think Clarissa Wild may be the only author I've read who is capable of going from total smut, to me having tears in my eyes, in the space of a couple of pages! This book hits you in all the feels! Take the warnings seriously, because if you get offended easily, this is not the book for you! If you're not, if you enjoy books that are seriously dirty, a bit dark, and hugely entertaining, then this is the book for you!!

Ugh, I can't finish this crap. Dialog is horrible. The dirty and taboo part doesn't bother me, I've read worse. It's just the writing, something about it grates on my nerves. A lot of the dialogue is just immature. I'm over it. I don't care enough about the characters to finish. The storyline has potential but the writing just isn't keeping me interested.

When I first started all I wanted to read was a dirty naughty filthy book with some romance.
Is it too much to ask?

Well I can say it was dirty naughty filthy. But I can't say it was romantic...

First I wanna remind u that we live in 21 century and have internet access. So when u wanna jerk off u really don't need magazines just open a goddamn tumblr it still has porn... But if it's your kink...

Anyway I was ok with everything until I realized the author couldn't decide if she wants a mob-rom or dark rom or gruesome erotica or sweet with suspense or over-the-top hollywood drama. And aren't we done with the 'im gonna shoot u' that takes like ages... I love genre mix, but not like dis.

I imagine her sitting right in front of me with her pretty mouth opened wide, ready to receive my blessing.

unholy acts gone dry

I just did not enjoy how the female main character spoke. Also not the kind of priest romance I want. I will not be elaborating.

Dayam... it took me a looong time to get into the story! In the end it did get a little better, but overall this wasn't more than a 3 star read for me (which in my rating system is not good, lol!). I'm not even slightly religious so the deformation of all the God-stuff wasn't what bothered me. I struggled though this book because it all just felt... ridiculous (while I had the feeling that was not what the author was aiming for), far fetched and forced.... and too coincidental. Nope, this book didn't do it for me!

Ephesians 6:11 “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the Devil.”

Father Frank isn't your typical preacher. He's a sh!t-talkin' whiskey drinkin' ol sonofa gun. Behind that dry and sarcastic humor though is a man once broken. A man who's wife and child were taken from him and since that day he's struggled in many ways with his faith. Faith in the big man above and faith in himself. When Frank meets the young and feisty Laura he finally has something good in his life and wants to be a better man. Sometimes God puts someone in our path to make or break us.

A druggie, a criminal, and a preacher walk into a bar. I know you’re expecting a joke here, but there is none. Well, at least not yet.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I started this book but lemme tell ya this one was amazing! I usually don't go for such crass characters but I instantly adored Father Frank and was rooting for him to find himself right away. I liked the secondary characters as well and thought they were all characterized and had a powerful part in the book.

“I don’t judge people on their past sins. I judge them by their strength and their ability to do what’s right in the present.”

I don't think I've read anything by this author before and now I know I need to get to reading her other books. I found her writing style engaging and the pace of the story was perfect! There was action, raunchy sex, and a lot of twists! Some I saw coming and some caught me with my mouth gaping open like she did whaaa--?!

I also read the extended epilogue by signing up for the author's newsletter and I thought it was a hot little extra side piece as well. I am almost hoping there's a spin-off after this one! Maybe grown- up Bruno?? YASSS.

Overall outstanding characters, cinematic dramedy style plot, and some wild kinky scenes. 5 stars all the way xx
