It'd been a little while since I'd read the first part of WJ Davies Binary Cycle series, but Mr. Davies is quick to get the reader back into the action. The first installment was packed with action from multiple viewpoints and the reader should be prepared for that same pattern to repeat.
If there was one problem I had, it was that one character had a few scenes and then disappeared for most of the book. However, after reading Davies Silo series, I know he can ditch entire characters and storylines for a long time and get back to them with no problem. I fully expect to see that character resolved in Book 3 of the Binary Cycle books.
As the title suggests, this book is chock full of Revelations. Why the problems on Taran are happening and what our characters have to do with it. Davies really specializes in dialogue and doesn't let down here, even involving other cultures into this story (which makes sense if Earth were to colonize, multiple cultures would move).
Well done. Looking forward to going Skyward!
