Bigger teeth, higher stakes ... they should have known better than to return to the past!
Hudson and Rapscallion are returning to the Cretaceous to film a documentary and know nothing of the drama that awaits them, both human and dinosaur.
It's been three years since the accident that destroyed Time Base Alpha, but the legacy of Meat Co's illegal operations are still being felt. The billions in illegally mined gold were recovered, but what of the gemstones? Lighter and easier to transport, the miners hid them, confident they would not be found until they could return.
But when their clandestine expedition to retrieve the gems encountered a creature even the T-Rexes avoid, those who would seek to follow have nothing to go on but fragments of a map, and the ramblings of a man haunted by the creature that killed everyone else in his team.
Hudson and Rapscallion are about to get caught in a race to find a fortune in precious stones - some think they might know more than they claim. Like the pirates of old, fresh players seek to plunder, steal, and kill anyone who gets in their way, but then everyone has a plan until something ten times their size bites it in half.
Get ready for absolute mayhem sixty-five million years in the past!
Let's start this off with an invitation to get some FREE books. No, you didn't read that wrong, we are talking about multiple free books. I love giving away free books because once people delve into the fast-paced mystery thrills I write, they go on to buy lots more.
When I wrote my first novel, Paranormal Nonsense, I was a Captain in the British Army. I would love to pretend that I had one of those careers that has to be redacted and in general denied by the government and that I have had to change my name and continually move about because I am still on the watch list in several countries. In truth though, I started out as a mechanic. Not like Jason Statham, sneaking about as a contract killer, more like one of those greasy gits that charge you a fortune and keep your car for a week when all you went in for was a squeaky door hinge.
At school, I was mostly disinterested in every subject except creative writing, for which, at age ten, I won my first award. However, calling it my first award suggests that there have been more, which there have not. Accolades may come but, in the meantime, I am having a ball writing mystery stories and crime thrillers and will claim to have more than a hundred books forming an unruly queue in my head as they clamor to get out.
Now retired from the military, I live in the south-east corner of England with a pair of lazy sausage dogs. Surrounded by rolling hills, brooding castles, and vineyards, I doubt I will ever leave, the beer is just too good.
Hudson and Rapscallion are heading back to the past, the Cretaceous era in fact. Its been three years since the accident that destroyed Time Base Alpha . In that time ,they’ve learned a lot . They haven’t forgotten about Meat Co and its illegal operations . The billions in illegal gold was found but never the gems…. When they traveled once more they encountered an ominous foe, more deadly and much bigger and nastier . So how can they survive this trek ,for treasure ,when others have failed , caught up in a race to find the precious stones that were mined as pirates of old . It becomes a race for the survival though ,not just from the greedy men who would rob and plunder and put asunder ,kill anyone in their path but there’s also the big creature ten times their size that is part of the aftermath . It’s absolute blunder and just for some gems . Now they’re hoping they’ll fight to get out of this situation and make amends , so it’s action stations and high alert levels to get back home to their future escaping the past. Fast pace angst and gutsy moves from these two time pirates in a fight to get home . A very well written book by father and son Steve Higgs and Hunter Hemsworth Higgs make a formidable writing team . This whole premise is a readers dream or should I say nightmare . Well those situations sure do scare.
The Time Pirates is full of action involving good guys, bad guys, intelligent children and a series of different dinos, and I loved it! It's really a wonder what a mind of a 9 year old boy can concoct with the help of his father who writes extremely well, and I bet some of the features that Rapscallion has are also found in Hunter. Time travel portals, hidden treasures, adventures, what will come next as the end of this story leaves a new door open for continuance. I thank the authors for this ARC.
Not really into dinosaurs and Jurassic Park tales, I had these books on my list to read but kept on putting other books in front... 170+ last year. Yep. That's how much I thought I didn't want to read this series. AND I already read everything Steve Higgs wrote including every series with co-authors.
I was wrong. This Book 2 is even better than Book 1 and I LOVED the first one. I won't tell you the story and take away the pleasure of reading it. Read it. You will be glad you did.
Hudson and Rap are going back to the Cretaceous to take Spikey and the other ailing triceratops back to their home. Naturally, someone wants to do a documentary to cash in on this. Naturally, there are lots of evildoers who want to steal the riches found in the Cretaceous. Naturally, things get complicated. Not just a book for kids, this is a fun read and something a bit different. Enjoys.
This book gets you excited right from the get-go, and the action doesn't stop. Come along on a wildly exciting adventure back in time, back when there are dinosaurs wandering and danger is everywhere, even where you wouldn't think, nor see coming. I am so happy that Steve and his son Hunter are back at the writing table. Adventure awaits in the Cretaceous period!
Steve and Hunter have written an excellent sequel to book one which keeps you gripped right to the end. Good guys trying to right a wrong, lots of bad guys, one especially bad bad guy and of course, lots of dinosaurs, which you expect in the Cretaceous period. It's fast paced, you'll love it - bring on book three!!
A can't-take-a-breath story that is mesmerizing. Steve has outdone himself. How he keeps doing this is a mystery but, then again, Steve is a master of his craft. Can he possibly top book two? Don't bet against him. Highly Recommended.
WOW!!!! This was a very exciting book by my favorite author. I know I learned some things and was on the edge of my seat often. I can hardly wait for the next one in the series.
Betrayals afoot everywhere! What an intense ride from the very first sentence! My hands were sweating the entire time I was reading! If things can go wrong, they usually do. Boy isn't that the truth! I can't wait for the conclusion to this incredible story!
My goodness that is one of the fasted paced books I've ever read. How Steve kept that all running in his head I'll never know. Just perfect except the end I want to know the end end. Excellent loved every bit of it.
I never give a book that ends with a cliffhanger more than 3 Stars. But this one was exciting from beginning to end (but wait it didn't really end) anyway I'm breaking my rule with this one and giving it the full 5 stars.
They crew goes back to the past to try and recover gold and gems mined earlier. They are betrayed. A volcano stops any hope of going back to the current time. Great book, thoroughly enjoyed. Looking forward to the next one.
This was better than book 1 and that was really good! This adventure was more challenging than the last, but the ending was such a cliff hanger…can’t wait until the next book!
Oh, no! The action doesn’t stop—dinosaurs, evil men, active volcanos and more. Will our time traveling heroes ever return to their own time? It’s going to be a late night, onto book three, Timequake.
Journey back to the Cretaceous This is a fast-paced story with plenty of action. An enjoyable read. It ended on a cliffhanger, so I’m going to start reading the third book now.
