Major 'Moose' Sculler has probably the worst luck with women known to man. His first wife had multiple affairs, the last and most notorious, with a BDSM preacher in Florida. That was right before the preacher killed her. The most recent was a fiancée whom he thought he loved. Turned out she was spewing lies faster than her fingers touched the keyboard. He left her in London and headed home. Where he belonged. Imagine his surprise when he finds a beautiful baby girl asleep in a crib in his spare bedroom and her mother across the hall in his own bed. Surprises are his specialty, but Erica has more than a few, not the least of which is a North Korean hit squad sent to kill her. Time to get to work.
Erica Smith is running from a past that she doesn't even fully understand. Having left North Korea as a child, she thought that she and her mother were running. Turns out, her mother didn't tell her the full story. Now she has a child, running from a hit squad, and she runs right into the big arms of Moose. Stories have a strange way of growing and changing, and hers is about to shock them all.
Thank you for reading my bio and my books! I live and work in Dallas, TX. I'm the mother of two amazing daughters and two fantastic, intelligent grandsons, with one more on the way, and a wonderful son-in-law. I love to cook, travel, and write, but I'm also an avid reader. Being from a military family, my books often center around strong, military men but I also LOVE strong, independent, intelligent women. Visit my webpage at insatiableink.squarespace.com and leave your comments or ideas for future books. Enjoy!
I mostly enjoyed the start of Moose's story in Conor. I did, and even more now, find it a bit creepy that he slept in the same room as a baby girl and Erica, mom, was good with it. While I know that these fictional characters are nearly perfect, the real life fear of mom's just can't be overlooked... The pedo aspect of life has been addressed in previous books so that's not far from thought. All in all, this was a super quick read. The first almost 20% was a repeat of Conor's book and the book ended at 79%. There was a bit more connection between the H and h than the previous book's characters. Most of this book was not the romantic aspect but hints of what is going on with the elders and the North Korea fiasco. I say 3.5 stars.
I chose this rating because this was actually a pretty great book. I enjoyed A great bit of the characters. This was a book of protection, compassion, kindness, acceptance, believe in yourself and falling in love and believing you're worthy of that love. I enjoyed Major (Moose) and Erica story. I think the author did a great job with putting these characters together because they both had went through a very tumultuous ordeal. Oh right away everyone fell in love with Erica's little girl. Great read! I recommend this book to all romance readers.
It's nice to see Erika and Moose find their HEA in this one. We saw the start of it in the last book. They both had to take a leap of faith that their feelings were real and the other felt the same. They were so stinking cute together, so it was good it all worked out for them.
The whole North Korea threat thing was crazy and got crazier as things went on. I loved the final show down at the end in the President's office. The crazy lady got just what she deserved and the others can hopefully live their lives happy.
Moose never had any luck in regards to women until he came home and found Erica, and her daughter Jennifer in his cottage. Now the VG and Moose must protect his family from those who wish them harm. Once again Mary Kennedy gives the reader intrigue, mystery and more children for Matthew and Irene to call theirs. Ms Kennedy keeps every story fresh and always keeps the readers wanting more
I have read the starter series of Voodoo Guardians. In fact, I am rereading them. I am always anxiously waiting for the next book. This was a great addition to the series. The characters were good together. A very nice plot twist closer to the end. I recommend this book as well as this series and the starter series.
I was eagerly waiting the release of Moose. I am excited over the separation of the seniors and the younger generation. As the book shows in depth how generational minds think differently, it also shows how to bridge the gap and show love and respect in doing so. Thank you Mary for being such a wonderful and prolific writer. Eagerly waiting for the next release.
Another great read !! Mary Kennedy has never let me down, I love every series and how she comes up with new ideas baffles the mind 😜 I'm happy Moose and "Erica" both found their HEA and I love how Jennifer is "passed" around by all her uncles 😁. Oh, and what the heck is going on with The seniors ??!!!!!
This one put a nice bow one the last story from the Grey Wolf Security. Mary Kennedy's stories are so enchanted and encouraging. If you have never read her books you need too. I stop reading books to read hers when they come out. They are just wonderful.
I can't wait for Mary Kennedy books they always hit the spot its such a fabulous family I dread if and or when Matthew and Mama Irene leave us I just dread it they are wonderful and the backbone
I really liked this story about Moose and Erica. It's cleverly written and threads are intricately woven to reach the defining moment at the end. I certainly didn't see the way it was going but I enjoyed the ride
I love Moose’s story. He didn’t think he could love anyone due to trust issues in the past but he came home to find not one but two beauties in his home.
Another fantastic read in this series I always try and take my time but it never happens as I have to find out what happens. This series gets better with each book
The Korean connection continues. When Moose returns from London and finds a woman and baby in his cottage, he is surprised but not upset. Jennifer becomes the baby he's never had and Erica seems to be all he needs. Moose has always been used by women and he armors himself against getting involved. When a choice has to be made, Moose keeps them with him. Danger is nearby, however, and the team has to find and eliminate them all, or maybe not.
