Become More Flexible and Less Stiff in Just 15 Minutes a Day is your guide to opening up your body safely and naturally through daily movement. Most people don’t realize the power of a short daily routine in keeping their body feeling comfortable and free. In this book, you’ll receive a 10 movement plan adaptable to all fitness levels. It’s a quick routine with life-changing results!
Josh Hash originally shared this routine on his YouTube channel, Strength Side, and the video has over 3.5 million views. People are experiencing the freedom of opening up their body one day at a time. There’s no reason you can’t do the same. Feel real change and empowerment by connecting to your body and freeing your joints of stiffness.
For what it is, a book outlining a short daily mobility practice, this delivers a lot. It does this about as well as it can be done. The postures and approach are clearly outlined and photographed, and it's all on youtube to watch if you need that.
I’ve been following Josh for years, as a member, and not a member, on YouTube. His stretching and strength building are accessible, easy to start, and grow into, and inspiring. This book is a much-needed and long overdue, tangible guide to his video instruction. Josh‘s method is the “gold standard,” for men of all ages and capabilities. I hope this book is just the beginning. Thank you so much for this, Josh!
I'm a middle age athlete. I lift, I run. I've also been getting stiffer and stiffer in my 40s (not slower, not weaker, just stiffer). BUT...who likes stretching, right? Who has time to all the mobility work people tell you to do?
Josh himself was a power lifter first, then started working on mobility and other things. His youtube channel was originally "mobility for power lifters". That is pretty close to what I needed.
This book is short and to the point. The routine is quick and easy to fit in right after a workout, or any other time. It's not a workout; it doesn't get you sweaty, doesn't require a huge commitment. It doesn't have to be done all at once (it can be done between meetings and emails). And it covers a lot of ground.
I've been doing it daily for a bit now. I feel better, and my mobility is (slowly) returning.
So: an easy, quick routine that fits into a busy life and shows results? Awesome. And you can crush through the book in an hour or 2 max.
One critique: as short as it is, it could have been shorter! There are a few (very small) sections on things beyond the routine mentioned in the book. Eat clean! Sleep well! All the other motherhood-and-apple-pie body health advice people give. Fortunately, that bit is easy to just skip over.
I can relate a ton to the author's story of transforming from "gym bro" to "movement guy" after getting injured. From feeling fragile to confident. From chasing numbers to chasing skills and feeling good. From trying to "fit in" to going against the grain and being the "weird guy". It really is a heroic journey like he says. And I think it's actually a lot more common story than we each realize - while at the same time being rare as most people choose the path of being the victim. His book is about empowering people to start taking the hero's journey through their daily habits - specifically in this case his Daily Practice.
I really loved this book! Josh has a way of presenting his material as you are talking to a trusted friend. He not only helps with opening your body but your mind as well. Josh Hash = body, mind, and spirit.
I got this book at a time when i really needed it. I was neglecting stretching for a very long time . After following the advice of this book after one day I felt better immediately. This was a great help .
I enjoyed the book. I found a lot that appealed to me. It follows things from their websites and videos. It encouraged me to do more. I have shared it with some friends and family. Maybe they will find something to takeaway.
As the author states life has become very fast paced and complicated. This idea of less is more is very stoic and a great reminder to think of ourselves and slow down and take care of our bodies
