Tracy Sterling’s latest investigation draws her into the heart of The Bahamas, far from the postcard-perfect beaches and into a world shrouded in shadows.

"Taken at Twilight" unveils a side of the island few tourists ever see—where poverty, crime, gangs, and human trafficking cast long shadows over the sand.

In the fifth gripping installment of the Tracy Sterling series, the intrepid detective trades the gritty streets of New York for the sun-drenched shores of The Bahamas, only to discover that paradise has a dark and dangerous underbelly.

When a 13-year-old girl is kidnapped from a luxury resort, Tracy must navigate a sinister labyrinth of danger and violence that lurks beneath the island's glittering facade. As she races against time to save the young victim, Tracy finds herself plunged into a world where the lines between predator and prey blur, and the pursuit of justice is as perilous as the criminals she hunts.

On the other side of the island, far from the tourist hotspots, desperation and vice reign supreme. Tracy must venture deep into this heart of darkness, where human life is just another commodity, to unravel the twisted web of secrets that ensnare the missing girl. With each step, Tracy is drawn further into the island's grim underbelly, where the glossy veneer of tropical paradise conceals a rotten core. As the clock ticks down, she must confront those who profit from the island's misery and bring the perpetrators to justice before it's too late.

I want to start by saying this is well written, and the story is very interesting. This is a gritty story about the worst behavior of mankind. This book is fiction, but it was obviously inspired by recent events in the news, which I actually went to check out on the internet, and the news is gruesome. I don't really like reading books like this; it's not a happy story, and I'm already tired of the stuff I see in the news. In fact, there's been a few shootings in my neighborhood this weekend, so should I even bother to read a book about gang violence?

I couldn’t put this book down.Excitement and intrigue from beginning to end. And the descriptive passages? I felt I was really there in those stinking creepy alleyways.
Can’t wait for the next Tracey adventure.

Took too long for the girl to be taken and it was all downhill from there. I wanted to like this book but it was a no for me. Too slow and then i had hard time suspending my disbelief.

If you like the other RJ Law books tho, I'm sure you'll like this one. I just couldn't get into it.

Loved the author’s style of writing. Story line kept my attention and I could not put the book down. While expected the ending was well done and came with some surprises.
