When Saige Carmichael, a curator at the Chicago Natural Museum, discovers a map in the hidden drawer of Vlad Dracula’s chest, she discovers the location of a buried temple in London. After the archeologist assigned to the excavation goes missing, Saige and her colleague, Cale, are sent to London to find him. They never do. However, once inside the temple they uncover unusual paintings on the wall, torture rooms with blood draining devices and scrolls written in blood. They also discover assassins who kill anyone who possess the scrolls. The only relief from the stress is Tavion, the dark mysterious man she meets at the nightclub, Bloodshot, with its gothic dressed patrons and unusual tasting drinks. She’s so drawn to him that even the unusual fetish that has him biting her neck doesn’t bother her, nor does his fable about being a vampire. What does bother her are the three women living in his house. His coven he calls them. She swears she won’t be the fourth woman in his life, but fate ties them together when the assassins come after her. It was a simple assignment and yet it’s surrounded by deaths, kidnapping, and ancient prophecies about her and she wanted no part of any of it. Does she have the strength to return to the states and leave it all behind.

Embraced is great as a standalone, even better with the Work Ethics trilogy as the main characters in Embraced play key roles in Work Ethics: New Beginnings and Work Ethics: A New Chapter

S.R. Thornton currently lives in the Baltimore area with her three sons where she works a 9–5 job in the inner harbor of Baltimore.

It was a few years after moving to Baltimore that her eldest son and she were comparing unique dreams they’d had. As he had before, her son insisted she write her dream down and make a book. After insisting that, although great at writing poems and short stories in school, there was no way she could write an entire novel, she finally tried it and completed her first nearly 600-page novel in three weeks. She found the experience so relaxing and enjoyable that she kept going. In the last six years S.R. Thornton has finished over 30 novels in various genres, including vampire, werewolf, witches, contemporary and historical romance that she’s now ready to share with others.
