This was a good story. My heart broke for Aiden more than Sahara.

Aiden adopted into the family growing close to Sahara and watching over her when her creepy uncle tried things he made sure she was safe, and one day, he's gone, and it breaks her heart. Trying to live in the house with an abusive father, a drunk mother, and the creepy uncle who's watching her new adopted siblings. Little did she know she's being watched by her past. Aiden is back, and he's coming for her, making sure all things are okay before he takes Sahara home.

But things don't go as planned when she fights him every step of the way. Wanting answers, and this is where I wanna slap her he doesn't explain until a little later why he wasn't there, and she still blames and ignores his reasons. 🤬🤬🤬
Ugh, I swear why do authors make these fmc stupid and unforgiving when the MMC has a good reason why he was taken/away.

The spice was delicious with 2 virgins.

No ow/om drama, no cheating, drama, sexy times, both virgins (even if H was raped)

I've read a few Teresa Wolf book since I discovered her a few months ago and this one is probably one for my favourites so far.

Sahara (Sara) mum and dad foster Aiden. Unfortunately the dad dies not long after. Sara mum then re-marries Will who brings his brother Ron with him. Ron has a thing for young girl. Aiden vows to protect Sara but then one day just vanishes. Sara then feel that she can't leave as her mum then fosters 3 young girls and she refuses to leave them where Ron can get to them.

Throughout the book you get snippets of what has happened in the past. Like the fact that Aiden thinks that he solved Sara problem with Ron by putting him in a wheelchair only to discover years later than Ron has managed to get back on his feet.

I get that Sara can't forgiven Aiden for leaving for 7 years but at the same time I hate that he tried to tell her in the past but she thought he was just trying to pass on the blame for his problems. if she had just believed them then it may have saved them 7 years of heartbreak, but then he wouldn't have had the time and money to put together the life and the house that they had dreamed about since they were kids.

My heart broke when we find out that although he saved Sara from Ron he couldn't save himself from Will.

I know I should feel bad for what happened to Sara when she escaped and went home but at the same time I can't because Aiden told her it wasn't safe and she didn't believe him again, even after he told her the truth about Will. I get that she thought she needed to protect the girls and her mum but she should still have trusted Aiden.

I was lucky enough to get an advance copy to read and this is 100% my honest option.

Difficult book to review. Aiden is Sahara's foster brother before he disappeared despite his earlier promises. When he reappears, Sahara/Sara is unsure if he is the same guy she was in love with. Lots of violence and steam but check trigger warnings.

This was such a good read! My heart broke for Aiden and I was so happy to see him redeem himself in his eyes by the end. I wasn’t surprised by Will and his character but it did take me by surprise a bit. Just a warning- there are some triggers.

I wanted to like it but this book skeeved me out.

Conceptually it's all over the place, mostly because the female lead couldn't keep to a single thought or course of action if her life depended on it. I literally got sick to death of her saying how hot he was and how she couldn't resist him but supposedly hates him and I was only at 53% at that point. She has multiple opportunities to run away from him and yet she's doesn't and then she's whining about not being a good enough sexual partner after he practically assaulted her in the woods. And no, I guess it wasn't actually an assault because she "just couldn't help it, and he's so hot, she had to have him," even though she's a virgin, really? (Cue the eye roll.) She just can't stick to anything -- she's all over the place. The whole thing just grossed me out with how completely pathetic she was and what an utter creep he was.

I thought she was weak and whiny and was back and forth, talking about wanting to impress him or wondering if she was a terrible shag, only minutes after sobbing and crying about him locking her away and only hours after thinking to herself she didn't like him much after he threatened to hurt her if she didn't obey like a good little dog. I'm literally getting whiplash from the back and forth in this character that can't hold a constant thought and had no consistency in her thoughts or inner monologues.

She's a complete hypocrite besides being a libido-driven moron -- and, who shows up to rescue her foster siblings in platform sneakers with no bra on, seriously? It was such a freakishly stupid thing to dress in (seeing as how it doesn't seem to be her normal style she's only doing it because he bought her all these designer labels) especially after saying she needed to look presentable but not be over the top -- I think going around braless in a skintight shirt with platform sneakers is more than a bit over the top. Maybe that's one of the things that set me off because I hate hypocrisy and this book was full of it: she hates him because he didn't keep his promise to her and then she doesn't keep her promise to the girls; they all hate uncle Ron because he's a pedophile and a sexual creep but then again Aiden is a sexual creep too, he's just not a pedophile; she whines and cries about hating him for leaving her, for kidnapping her, for holding her against her will, and threatening to punish her, and then his panting after him and throwing herself at him, undressing him two minutes after sobbing about how terrible he is.

Let's cover Aiden being a creep for a second: he's supposed to be a virgin too, but on only his second sexual encounter with her he's wanting to rough her up like some rape fetishist and choke her out and slap her around, really? He's going down on her without fumbling and getting her off like some sort of gigolo and wanting to do anal as if he's some sort of a sexual prodigy even though he's a virgin? I just didn't buy any of the sexual scenes it was just gross and creepy if he's got such weird kinks right off the bat and he has zero experience -- and it just didn't jive with the whole romantic notion of waiting to have sex until he was with her. Then there's the whole issue of how he's supposed to have waited on her like some sort of romantic and yet he's calling her a slut? Yeah, I was totally done with the book at that point.

So no, no recommendation on this one, besides the conceptual nightmare the female lead became for me, this book had a seriously childish feel to it that I just couldn't get past and it left me feeling like all their inner monologues were just a bunch of excuses and rationalizations, like this was written by a teenager who hasn't gotten past the boy-crazy faze and has no real idea what's sexy or romantic, because this was neither.

This story follows Sahara and Aiden. Aiden was being fostered by Sahara's parents and it was all sunshines until an accident happened that took their father away from them. Then everything went down hill FAST for the both of them. Their mother remarried and it wasn't to a nice guy either, who also brings with him his creepy brother. Aiden would do absolutely ANYTHING to protect Sahara, and he definitely did. As Aiden and Sahara are growing up they make promises to each other that neither of them break. But as they get older Aiden disappears for 7 years and we find out why later on in the book. Our FMC Sahara.. man she's something. She's the type that says she hates Aiden.. but still loves him from when they were younger. She's having a hard time loving this new Aiden that she sees in front of her now.. maybe 😏. If you like taboo with a lot of back and forth (least it seemed it to me) This may be the book for you! Enjoy and Happy reading!

This was dark and twisty. Aiden and Sahara have had to deal with way more than they should have. He left, and she hated him for it. Little did she know what he really left to do and for what. She stayed and continued to do what she felt she needed to, until suddenly he’s back. It was a push and pull of emotions as I read about their stories and what continued to haunt them both. Even if they felt they were damaged, they were still perfect for one another.

Part of the Love So Cruel series hang on because if you read the first book then you will understand why I started out saying hang on once you start you won’t put it down until last page has been turned. Sahara and Aiden were dealt the wrong hand when it comes to parents both coming from an abusive father, drunk for a mother neither cared about them as kids and so they stuck together Aiden made promises to always protect her she believed him until he disappeared leaving her to learn to defend herself. Aiden arrived known that his Sara was going to be his from the moment he met her but at the time he wasn’t sure how to protect her leaving her was the hardest thing he had ever done but he needed to for a few reason but debt was the top reason and was all that was taken care of he came back for her but she wants nothing to do with him which shocked him to his core but he understood especially with so much responsibility on her shoulders but will she understand him leaving, will he be honest with all that he has been thru, is he there for good will he be able to prove it to her, and will their lives get better maybe a little peace…a little happiness?

When your Shadowy Protector Disappears Without a Trace

Sahara's life started out normal with loving parents had room in their hearts to foster.

However life takes a terrible turn when her father is killed, her mother becomes an alcoholic and marries a terrible man who bring in his brother who has an appetite for young girls.

Aiden came into the family with thoughts of being the best big brother ever. He wanted nothing more than to be taken fishing and have a happy life. Everything started out perfectly, then his step-dad died.

Now he suddenly found himself having to be more than just a good big brother. He had to also become her protector. He remains the protector until he is forced into a confrontation with the pedo brother and suddenly disappears.

Sahara is now old enough to leave but she can't because now she must protect the new young foster girls. She can't let them be violated. She only wishes Aiden were still there. She loves and misses him but is so very angry with him.

When Aiden finally returns he is forced to make some decisions that will change the families dynamic forever. Will Sahara be able to forgive him for everything that happened and will everyone come out unharmed?

This story grabs you and makes you want to figure out what happened to everyone and what secrets are still holding each person back. You hope that in the end the girls will all make it out unscathed.

Sahara (his Sara) is our twenty four year old MFC.
Aiden is our handsome twenty six year old MMC.
She was eight when she met Aiden. He was brought into the Walker home as a foster child.
Aiden knew, at that early stage in his young life that Sara was his and he was there to protect her.
Something big happens and I can not say more or I will take away your reading anticipation pleasure.
But let’s say Aiden has to disappear.
Over the years her mom and stepfather take in more girls to foster. Eliza, Lilly and Briar.
Fear of Ronny Walker, her step uncle and her step father William Walker is great. The Uncle is a pedophile and her stepdads abusive. Her mother is a bad alcoholic and is drunk in her bed most of the time.
This is an AWESOME book with heartache aplenty, injustice in life and hope of a better future.
A truly enjoyable read of a love that’s true and everlasting.
Highly recommend. 👍🏻❤️.

This is the second book in the “Love So Cruel Series” and introduces us to Sahara and Aiden. Both were raised in the same foster family with Aiden always being her protector, both mentally and physically. Then one day he was gone …… now he is back! Can she forgive him for just disappearing without a word? Now he is back in her life ….. He kidnaps her and she is kept as a prisoner in a gilded cage for “protection”? Will he ever tell her why? Will they ever have a “normal” relationship?

The story is dark in places, plenty of spice 🌶️, intrigue and secrets that you will not expect! A thoroughly enjoyable read from page to page, one chapter to the next - at times you are metaphorical “on the edge of your chair” wondering what will happen next. Overall, I would highly recommend this book and you will not be disappointed 😊

This is Book 2 in the Love So Cruel series and is a standalone story. In this book we meet Sahara and Aiden.

Aiden was in the system and was moved to Sahara’s family. He was excited to finally feel safe and to have a mom and dad. Everything was great until his foster father passed away and his foster mother remarried. This is when Sahara’s and Aiden’s life took a dark turn.

Being raised in a house of abuse and possible CSA, they had only each other. He promised her he would always be there. Until he wasn’t.
Sahara is now and adult and has had several opportunities to leave this household. However, she now has three younger foster sisters, and she stays to protect them.

Aiden returns vowing to take her away. However, she is not that happy to see him causing him to resort to some stalking, kidnapping her and holding her captive in a house he had built for them.

This is a dark romance with a touch of taboo as Sahara and Aiden were raised as siblings. He pushes her limits, and she fights him at every turn because she wants to go back and get her sisters.

The steam between these two is smoking hot. There is a lot of action to the story and some unaliving.

The plot will keep you involved in the story. While at times you will want to shake these two for their lack of communication with each other, it will not detract from the overall enjoyment of the story.

Wow
Sahara found herself living in a house with her. Mum was drunk most of the days and a stepfather that was cruel. There was also an uncle called Ron who was beyond evil, Sahara has two foster sisters who she made sure where keep safe. Seven years ago she did have a foster brother called Aidan who promised to keep her safe one day he disappeared and he didn’t come back.
Aidan had gone through hell living in that house and found himself paying off a debt that was not his own which means for the last seven years, he has been kept kidnapped/ working for a drug lord. And that moment he couldn’t get back to Sahara / Sara and keep his promise. So the last couple of years he made sure he made something of them self, so he could give Sara everything she has dreamed of.
This story has so many twists and turns you just don’t know whether you’re above the water or not. My heart went out to both Sara and Aiden For different reasons. It was safe to say that these two had a connection that no matter what happened could not be broken. They shared a Passion for one another so strong. I’m really finding it hard not to give the game away in this review so all I’m gonna say is grab a drink and sit comfortably because you are going to get totally lost in this story and twists are brutal.

This gripping and powerful dark romance delves into the intricacies of love, treachery, and forgiveness. The plot revolves around Sahara and Aiden, whose turbulent past and strong emotional bond make for an exhilarating and intense journey. The story of forbidden love, cruelty, and devotion is expertly crafted by the author, who keeps the reader interested and invested in the adventures of the characters. Because of the skillful portrayal of Sahara and Aiden's push-and-pull relationship, their journey is both intriguing and painful. Dark romance lovers should not miss this novel because of its rich plot and themes of trauma, abuse, and redemption.
It's simple to get engrossed in the characters' storylines because of the compelling writing and strong character development. This novel stands out in the genre due to the author's remarkable ability to write a story that is both romantic and grim. All things considered, readers who enjoy dark romance and forbidden love will find "Sick Little Devotion" to be a compelling and dramatic read. Please be advised, nevertheless, that the book contains mature subjects and might not be appropriate for all readers.

Stars: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5 (rounded up for rating)
Spice: 🌶️🌶️.5/5

I don’t know how to feel or what to think about this book and have mixed feelings. The MCs are Aiden (MMC) and Sahara (FMC), and these two meet as foster siblings when they are 9 and 8 respectively. These two don’t really start to develop feelings until closer to puberty, and both bond over trauma.

There are A LOT of triggers, so please read those trigger warnings (ex: abuse, addiction, attempted SA, CSA, drug trafficking, the list goes on).

Aiden disappears for 7 years, and Sahara feels lost without him, but is focused on ensuring her foster sisters’ safety. Aiden comes back for Sahara, and kidnaps her since Sahara doesn’t willingly want to go with him (I mean, who wouldn’t be angry if the love of their life was gone for 7 years with no explanation?). The kidnapping/abduction aspect of this book did take up a lot of the plot line, and I feel like it took away from the story a bit when there could have been more time for the MCs to move forward and their relationship to develop. One thing that I liked about the book was the childhood sweethearts aspect, which included unconditional love, even when angry (for good reasons since not all information was readily available).

I don’t know what to think about this book. I have mixed feelings. On one hand, I liked the Childhood Sweethearts aspect, and I thought the atmosphere was gripping. I didn’t like the way the abduction plot took up so much of the book. This book is very dark, which felt right for the story; on the other hand, some of the triggers, especially the CSA, were excessive. So I’m just not sure. I guess I’d give it a 3.5, which rounds up to 4 stars. I do know that some people out there are just going to love this book.

I voluntarily reviewed "SICK LITTLE DEVOTION" This is an intriguing, interesting, suspense filled dark romance, steamy, creepy, obsessive, childhood traumas, triggers warnings, twists that makes for an addicting page turner.
Aiden disappeared 7yrs ago from Sahara's life he was her step brother her mom was a drunk her stepfather was a cruel man & an Uncle Ron who was beyond evil & two foster sisters, Aiden promised to keep her safe, he didn't come back.
Aiden went through hell living in that house he was paying off a debt that wasn't his, kidnapped working for a drug lord, he couldn't get back to Sahara & keep his promise to her, making something of himself to give her everything she dreamed of.
I definitely recommend to get this riviting story Aiden & Sahara take you on so many twists your heart goes out to both of them the things they went through their shared passion was so strong nothing would break them, he had to work hard to get back in her life, even though sometimes he did it all wrong it's a must read you don't want to miss. AWESOME DARK TWISTED MAFIA ROMANCE I LOVED IT 🖤 🖤 🖤 🖤 🖤

I felt bad for Sahara. She was stuck in a bad situation that she could do nothing about. Mom was a drunk. Step-father was cruel. It was abusive and traumatic for her. Her step-brother, Aiden, promised to keep her safe, but one day he was gone. He was gone for years paying off “a debt”. Sahara had to be strong and try to protect herself. He returned and vowed to make her his. He stalks her and follows her, but she fights it now. They had boned together earlier in the book but after he abandoned her, she resisted him. We read through the trauma of their pasts and the emotional ups and downs they go through as the two find their way back. There are a lot of triggers as it is a dark romance. This is book 2 of the Love So Cruel series but it is a stand-alone. You don’t need to read book 1 first. I enjoyed this book but maybe I liked book 1 a little bit more. They are both great books. I received an ARC copy from the author and this is my honest review.

3.5 stars. Possible spoilers ahead...
This book was....okay. I spent way too much time having questions though.

Why did h not call CPS or... basically anybody to report what was going on at that house? Instead, you just let them keep fostering young girls without alerting anybody? ugh.

H wants h back so bad so his whole solution is to sneak into her window and do sexual stuff with her while she sleeps? Then kidnap her? Then you spend about 80% of the book- keeping her captive? MAKE IT MAKE SENSE.

h was not very likable. Even her POVs got repetitive and whiney. Her martyr complex was strong.

I had a hard time believing the smut parts. And I was feeling yucky about them. When you know the abuse H suffered, then you are told they are both virgins, only to then read about a very experienced H doing those things- well, it just never settled right for me. It left me uncomfortable. I started to skip those parts in the book.

I loved this book. I was immediately immersed in the story of Aiden and Sahara. They went through some traumatic events and managed to stay strong through it all. Aiden was a protector, even though he could be cruel when needed. I loved how he made something of himself (even though not through legal means), so he could get back to his love. Sahara was a strong and resilient and was a protector to her younger "sisters". She didn't forgive Aiden easily when he came back, even though she knew she still loved him. Aiden worked hard to get back in Sahara's good graces, although he sometimes went about it the wrong way. I loved that he was able to recognize those moments and that he wanted to be a better man. I loved how everything flowed together so seamlessly, and the ending was perfect.

There are several triggers, so please read the TW list before reading this book.

This was a rather quick read. I enjoyed Sahara and Aiden's story. I liked reading the flashbacks and little tidbits about their relationship they had when they were kids. The love and trust they had for each other when they didn't have anyone else. Even after so many years apart, and some misunderstandings to start, Sahara and Aiden are able to come back together again and stronger, after their demons are dealt with.

I would have enjoyed a bit more near the end as to why Will did what he did. Some of it was because of his brother Ron, but it felt like we were missing bits and pieces. I loved the HEA, especially the boat and fishing comments that Sahara got for Aiden.

Pretty decent story with some spicy moments.

*This review contains SPOILERS.

Although it was a dark romance, I did not find it as dark. Yea there's the whole foster brother thing but once you read it, it will make sense of why they fell in love. I absolutely loved the story in general but I did find some things lacking, for instance the way Will was delt with was very anticlimactic. And how did a low life like him find them so quick? How did he know she was coming? Was it him that texted back? What did he use to drug the girls? Just some questions that where left unanswered. Do I still recommend it? Absolutely! I read it in 4 days (would've been 2 if I didn't get sick). The story pulls you in and is extremely entertaining. Can't wait too read more from this author.

Sahara and Aiden used to be foster brother and sister until her step uncle tried to abuse her and Aiden severed his spinal cord. Aiden and Sahara. She stayed for her siblings. She loved Aiden and he ghosted her. She's working at her stepfathers restaurant when its robbed and she thinks one of the masked robbers is him to the point she chases him and rips his mask off and it isn't. Her stepfather is going to be mad. Aiden has come back. He wonders why she didn't leave and then he sees the girls and he knows, he knows she's sacrificing herself for them. He watches her sleep. Hes finalizing deals to make her his. It wasn't his fault he had to leave. Ron isn't paralyzed. Her mother is drunk all the time. She hears Aiden is in town. He didnt save her. Theres such violence in her home. Aiden comes for her. Hes taking her. A deliciously dark romance. Loved their story.

I loved Aiden’s character; dark, protective, and determined. He really carried the story for me. Sahara, on the other hand, frustrated me to no end. I understand why she’s bitter and guarded after what happened, but her constant back-and-forth made it harder to root for her.

The premise is dramatic and gripping: Aiden swore to protect Sahara forever, then vanished without a trace, leaving her heartbroken and trapped in an abusive household. Years later, he comes back, debts paid and ready to reclaim her. The tension between them is intense, and the chemistry is undeniable.

I just wish Sahara had been written with a little more consistency; I wanted to see her stronger and less self-sabotaging. Overall, though, the story was addictive, and Aiden’s journey and devotion were what kept me turning the pages.

So Wrong Yet So Right!!!

Sick Little Devotion is book 2 in the Love So Cruel series. This is a standalone story; you do not need to read book 1, Sweet Little Obsession but that too was a fantastic read!

Sick Little Devotion is dark and stormy and filled with trauma and drama and I would recommend checking any triggers you may have. The story is well written with fascinating and deeply complex and tortured characters. There is a lot to unpack as the story progresses and my own emotions were up and down along with the characters.

This is not a light and happy read but so worth the journey to get to the captivating ending filled with vengeance, healing and family. I loved it and can’t wait for the next one in the series!
