So it turns out that they used up all their plot in the first one? And this one’s just the same hashed-over bonking with new witches. Oh well.

This series has dovetailed into something that just isn't very good with this book.
The antics of the harem, the incredible speed at which it keeps increasing, and the farcical fights the by the MC has all gone too far at this point. It's just not enjoyable.
Relationship building is all but non-existent. We've gone from 5 to 8 now, and that's just not good. The book is more about the MC acquiring more women, and sex scenes, and then the MC getting to be Superman, rinse and repeat.
Some of the lines used are just cringeworthy. The only saving grace is some of the sex scenes are decent.
I'm done with this series.

All done. Well, not really, I think there’s at least 4 books in this series right now and I’m only finished the 2nd.
It was fun, just like the first, although this suffers what everything else in this genre has on the second book. It’s loses focus on plot, and leans too far into the smut because characters are established. I mean, come on, there’s a good plot here, why is 70% of the novel smut that we’ve seen 4 times in the previous book?
This is somewhat my fault, I’m expecting a bunch of plot in a book series that’s open about not giving too much of a shit.
Biggest disappointment though was what became my favourite character, missing for the last 40% of the book. And also, when we meet the witch fertility woman, and learn she was Logan’s moms midwife, I really thought we’d get his backstory and perhaps some strong emotional beats around that, but, it’s ignored until the epilogue where it’s teased that it’ll be a big focus in the 3rd instalment.
I’m a sucker, so when the snow melts I’ll hop into the 3rd audiobook and probably finish it in a day or two just like the first 2.
I’m still undecided if I wanna keep pushing into The Shining or go with something new. I really wanna get into it, like I did with Salems lot, but it’s just talking longer to pick up and hasn’t quite hooked me yet.

There's no depth to the story or characters and the series has devolved into fake lesbian orgy porn (complete with screaming out obnoxious and delirious comments). The story has gotten so obnoxious, nonsensical, stupid and trashy at times I can't even force myself to keep reading. The characters act and talk so stupid at some points the writing could double as a porno script.
I love erotica and smut and believe that people who read erotica and then foolishly complain about too much smut should go back to reading sci-fi/fantasy instead because nobody is forcing them to read erotica in the first place. For me, the quality is the key. As long as each sex scene is interesting and high quality there can never be too much. For me it needs to be erotica, not cheesy or degrading porn.
Unfortunately, for this story the sex scenes get stupid and trashy and it really drags the story down. Characters talking and acting like low quality porn films, DP lesbian tentacle/vine porn, acting out fake orgies, silly actions it's impossible to take seriously, etc.
Women in the story talk like men (male construction workers even). Another thing I wonder is if a spider fetish is actually a thing or if this series is a parody or a bunch inside jokes. How could someone be sexually aroused by spiders? Please help me understand because I honestly can't figure it out.
Why do so many authors seem to love portraying MMCs as bumbling idiots? Is it because they need a weakness and it's easiest one to portray? It seems so lazy and it's become such a common trope, one that feeds into a sexist stereotype that pisses me off. Combine that with the wimpy MC trope and it immediately makes me lose interest in the book. It seems like MC's balls are starting to drop in this book so at least that is good.
The series, despite the byline, is not even harem genre...it actually contains poly relationships.

Great character development!
I think this is the perfect sequel to the first book. It continues Logan and the other girls growth character-wise and relationally with each other.
I enjoyed the banter between all the girls and seeing Logan trying to deal with all the new situations of growing into becoming a leader of the coven.
Akimbo was hilarious in this book as well, you'll have to read it to see what he does to Logan and his shenanigans.
I think Virgil and Edgar did an excellent job with alphas character development as well and where that ark with Logan led to.
Overall, it was an excellent book and I would highly recommend reading it!

As with most of virgil knightley books I hate the female voices the whole squeaky new york or new jersey voices make me cringe and it ruins the books for me its all 1 or 2 girls in the harem that talk way to much and the accent just instantly 😒 makes me loose interest the only book that really held my attention was THE FIRST QUEST which needs a 2nd & 3rd book it was amazing 👏... But DNF I just couldn't get past cherry cola's voice. Find more female voice actors please 🙏 😭

It’s good to be the King…
This was full of planning, action, more planning, hella cool movie style fight scenes and tons of spice. Plenty of humor to go alongside. Can’t wait for Coven King 3!!!

What a great series so far!
This is a really enjoyable read. I loved the characters, and the storyline is entertaining as hell. I thought the first novel was really good, and this one is even better.

Excellent story and very imaginative developments
The team is expanding and growing closer at the same time. Very nice job of increasing the duties of the main character. Lots and lots of really fun humor! Bring on Book 3.

Wow, this book has even more action going on than the last book. This is a great story and Logan has developed much more power and his abilities have grown sharpened over the last couple of weeks. And wow the intmate personal time spent with his witched has been awesome.

Fun and sexy!
Enjoyable and not too serious. Oh, there are serious moments, but it is just a fun book to read. The MC does change personality a bit mid-book, but not too or of character.

Worse than the first one because at least that one had more story since they had to build something up at the start. It's literally just intermissions of story to set up the next sex scene. See my review of the first book for more info it's just the same but worse. DNF
