It's confusing, frustrating, and exhausting to be a teenage girl. You're not an adult, yet you're not a kid. You want to please the world, but also accept the fact that you're not perfect. You want to chase your dreams, but everything around you seems to be holding you back. It's really hard being a teenage girl, but no one ever tells you that.

Thoughts of a Teenage Girl is a poetry book consisting of five society, doubt, pain, dreams, and reality. This book is perfect for young women who seek to be understood, but feel as though their thoughts and emotions are hidden in the dark.

This book totally encapsulates how i’m sure almost every other high school girl feels like. Every thought and feeling was written out in the perfect way to show others what she means, and left open her poetry to interpretation so others can relate as well. I also love how it progressed from darker to a little bit happier subjects, although everyone has ups and downs, it sends the message that even the really bad things can get better at least a little bit. some of my favorite poems were civil, gone girl, up i grow, visions, and childhood wonders. Katherine is truly going places with this book, i loved it so much and i’m sure everyone else will too <3

This is amazing. It is very powerfully written and relatable regardless of your age.

Each section speaks volumes;
Society
Doubt
Pain
Dreams
Reality

Now, I've never been one for poetry as much as novels, but this really intrigued me. I found it very easy to read (compared to some poetry that, at least for me, can be hard to understand and read fluidly), which I loved.

I thoroughly recommend this 100%. I can't stress enough how good this is!!

This was a wonderful collection of poems that accurately reflected what truly goes on in a teenage girls mind. I loved every second of this book. I think any girl who's in high school should read it, as some of the poems really encouraged self reflection.

My thoughts: Wow! Wow! Wow! I am so grateful to bookstagram for allowing me to stumble across this beautiful poetry book filled with raw and real emotions that all of us have faced at some point in time, some happy, some absolutely gutwrenching and others simply dark and broken.

We have to acknowledge that @mazzeikbooks is only 16 years old and she has written an absolute astounding collection of poems that I honestly believe should be read by all teens/young adults - I truly believe that this poetry collection would act as a symbolic message that you are never alone and that the trials and tribulations a person faces are also being worked through by millions of others.

The poems themselves are fluid, easily understand and interpreted but are also incredibly vivid and engaging. It was simply breathtaking to marvel at Katherine’s incredible soul and energy through the power of her words.

I have included a few favourites that touched my heart in an intense and personal manner - words I have needed to hear both as a teenager and as I am today.

Please give this a read, and support a new young author, who I know will definitely be taking the poetry genre by storm ⛈️
