This next installment in the Nubian Underworld series is probably the most decadent - and most turbulent - of the series so far! Watching Ramesses and Neferterri endure situations that tested their commitment to each other was, I felt, a necessary component in their union, and it served to strengthen things between them.
There were some resolutions within this installment also, and some new revelations arose to take their place. Add in the usual erotic flair that this series is known for, and you have an explosive book that will stay with you long after you've put the book down, clamoring for the next installment with baited breath.
This series is one of the most unique on the market, and it serves to keep Rashaan on the literary map for years to come.

Oh my goodness!!! This book has got to be my favorite of the series so far!!! This story had me spacing out and feeling like I was on the island indulging in the sweetest tortures. This story had it all, drama, suspense, intrigue....and that's just one layer of this complete package.
There was such an intense quality to this story. Not just the sexual aspects but the emotional ones as well. This author dives into the bonds of family, trust, love, and loyalty. By the middle I felt like I was on a roller coaster--the effects dizzying but the ride glorious. There were quite a few twists and turns that I did not see coming and that just made it all the more exciting and entertaining.
I give this book five stars of excellence!! I can't wait to see what happens next!!!

Tempest by Shakir Rashaan is the third installment in his Nubian Underworld series. The novel follows Ramsses, Neferterri, and their submissive's as the house of Kemet-Ka embark on their newest adventure of buying an island and opening an ultra kinky resort. Hoping to enjoy a relaxing week, Ramsses and his house soon realize that they cannot escape drama as easily as they would've hoped.
I have to say that Rashaan has outdone himself with this book. It is definitely my favorite novel in the series. There was just enough drama to keep me interested, and he didn't overdo it to the point where it wasn't relatable.
What I really liked about this book was the connection between Ramsses and the title "Tempest", and the bond between the members of the house of Kemet-Ka. The word tempest means "a violent windstorm, especially one with rain, hail or snow. Tempest can also mean "a violent commotion, disturbance or tumult." The first definition fits perfectly with the fact that this whole novel takes place on an island where tropical storms could happen anytime. Unfortunately, this isn't the only storm brewing on this island! There is a storm that is constantly brewing within Ramsses, which finally calms towards the end of the book. The duality of the word tempest is a clever decision by Rashaan.
The storm within Ramsses comes out a lot when it has to do with his family and their well-being. I love the dynamic between everyone in their house. Even though this group is not related by blood, they treat each other as if they were, meaning they would most likely take a bullet for each other. This family is closer that most families I've seen. My favorite thing about the family is the interactions between Ramsses and amani, the house "boi." They give each other "pound" or "dap" to show each mutual respect, which really highlighted their positive male bond.
Tempest is a fun look into the Nubian Underworld, and should not be missed. If you haven't read the first two books in the trilogy, I suggest you buy yourself a copies. I personally can't wait to see what Rashaan has in store for us next!

Love Love LOOOVE this book. I will be sad to see the chracters go. I loved the mild drama that was going on. I appreciated all the safe bdsm scenes, made me want to get back into the scene. I loved sajira and her babygirl personality. She reminded me of myself. Loved all the submissives EXCEPT lynx and tiger. Idk about anyone else but tiger was just as annoying as lynx was. At some point the games they were playing kinda confused so I had to reread a few things to understand what was happenening.
I'm glad the family got their much needed orgy but I still have questions. Will sajira really divorce Lynx when they go back to the states? Will shamise, sajira and armani ever seriously date other people or stay within the family? Why were the kids never brought up until the end? I totally forgot about Mistress and Daddy having kids lol. What is really going to happen to Lyrical and Kortana (I think I butchered her name)? Are there any other books like this?
Well I did give the first book to my vanilla friend, let's see how she likes it. lol So as you know, I do reccommend this series and I'm glad this is the series that got me out of my reading slump.

A Five Star series written by, Shakir Rashaan. The love story of Ramesses and Neferterri was powerful and strong no matter what came their way. The ride was wild and full of twist and turns, that you had to keep reading to see how it would end. Now you meet a lovely, funny group of people along the way. Some Good and Some truly Wicked.I will not go into any detail, because there are many people still reading it, or have not started reading this series yet!! The Chronicles Of The Nubian Underworld makes you wonder if there is a little Kink in all of us, if given a chance to let go for one week on the Island Of Evil Pleasures.!! (Smiling!!) Get This series and take a wild ride into the Fetish\ BDSM World of Lord Ramesses and Lady Neferterri of the House of Kemet-Ka.

From the moment you begin reading this novel captivates and transports you to the Island . Shakir’s gift is the pictures that he paints with his words. You can literally feel his words and the pictures he paints of this world shows you the true nature of BDSM at its core. The characters have depth and personality in all of the books in this series but Tempest is the icing on the cake and I will and would suggest this book be on every one’s shelf. My review can't give the story "Tempest" justice, giggles... An very intriguing and wonderful conclusion to the Nubian Underworld (BDSM) in Atalanta. There is a party going on when the reader begins part three of this story... I will say this, the reader will truly understand the House of Kemet-Ka,and its Master Ramesses, Lady Neferterri along with their submissive's amani, shamise and sajira. So if you are a reader searching for an awesome series to read, do pick- up or download Shakir Rashaan "The Chronicles of the Nubian Underworld" books 1-3!

OMG! This book kept me on my toes the entire time. If for a chapter, I thought I knew where it was going, there was a twist! The chemistry between the characters should be envied by many. There were points in the book where I wanted to jump in the book and get some of that action! (Still do!) I loved the storyline and it flowed along properly. So glad I was able to get my hands on this! If you knew half of anything, you'd be all over this! Congrats Shakir, on another success!

Man I tell you. Tread carefully because you will have to take this one in small doses. The book was wonderfully crafted to both stimulate you mentally and physically. As you dig deeper into these pages, you'll find yourself savoring the moment and testing your own boundaries. Shakir pulls out all the stops just as I expected. I'm ready for the next round.. I was blessed with an early copy and what can I say but yes. I started having character envy. Shakir has done it again. This House will not be shaken no matter what curve balls folks try to through at it. I know I am greedy so I am looking forward to the next one.

The capture of each of these familiar characters was riveting! I was entranced from cover to cover as the scenes seemed to flow effortlessly throughout. The book never left my hand until every page was turned and every moment captured. VERY well done Sir!

This book didn't disappoint in the least. This is the third book in the Chronicles of the Nubian Underworld series by Shakir Rashaan and he went a little deeper into the D/s world by giving you a glimpse into the minds of not only the submissives' but also the Dominants' minds. By introducing a little conflict, he made a page turner even more intriguing by the chapter and now I can't wait to see what's next for sajira, shamise, amani, Lady Neferterri and Lord Ramesses. Whew!!!

I enjoyed this entire series and this authors writing about the BDSM community. Although I'd never participate in something of this nature it was enjoyable to read.
