Pansy Bellafini has had her photo in the paper entirely too much lately, but when she and her twin sister Gerri, recently deceased, are approached by a ghost with a mission during an investigation of the old sanatarium with the Perth Paranormal Society, the high school senior is willing to risk what’s left of her reputation in order to protect the living. As her notoriety increases, the sisters will have to overcome their fears and ask for help from their friends in order to remove an evil entity from this plane.
Can the Bellafini twins work together to develop a plan without losing anyone in the process?
Or will the challenge tear them apart, permanently?
Author A. B. Hooser lives in Huntington, WV with her family and two dogs. Artist, gamer, writer, she lets the ADHD lead her into every new adventure. When asked by a friend to create a clean young adult series where adventure was the priority, not romance, she accepted the challenge, creating the Perth Paranormal Mystery series.
The second in the series was even better than the first! I thoroughly enjoyed this new adventure of the Perth Paranormal Society, and I'm waiting with bated breath for the third installment.
This book is appropriate for all age groups; nothing too scary, but plenty of sleuthing and intrigue. Nothing too racy, but there's a little implied hanky-panky that isn't too central to the story.
These characters are interesting and real, and their reactions to situations they find themselves in is genuine and believable. I can see these becoming movies for teens/tweens, and I can see them doing very well; the novels are written very cinematically, and the pictures painted in my mind are vivid and well-developed.
The combination of all this makes for a very enjoyable series that keeps me turning pages and looking forward to what's coming next!
Author A.B. Hooser has done it again! This book is rich with nostalgia, coming-of-age mishaps, and the beauty of being surrounded by a team who supports you (and yes, those teams include ghost hunters as well :)) I have much enjoyed going on adventures with the Bellafini sisters, and I cannot wait to see where else they take me in the upcoming books.
