With the weather changing and a chill in the air, who couldn’t use a little chicken soup; both literally and figuratively! Winter is the holiday season where spirits are bright but it can also be a sad, hard time for many. It’s both joyous but sad. For some it’s the first holiday without a loved one and for others, loneliness sinks in even deeper and darker than usual.
I have dealt with depression as an adult and I know the warning signs. Sometimes it’s good to just take time for yourself and read something uplifting like Chicken Soup for the Soul. I know it always lifts my spirits and gives me a renewed perspective on life. Touched an an Angel was even more so with it’s subject matter. Whether or not you believe in angels, you will be moved by these stories! It’s hard not to see God’s hand in it and to believe.
You will read about miracles, divine interventions and even healing that is unexplained medically. I always have a favorite story (or ten) and in this one I liked Undercover Angels because I had a similar experience. I had a car accident where I ran into a full sized truck in my car head on at 65 mph and walked away. There’s no earthly reason I should have. It happened almost ten years ago and I had forgotten about it until reading this. I like that it reminds me of my own life; not to take it for granted, how lucky and blessed I am and that I have seen the hand of angels in my life.
For a season associated with hope and new beginnings, Chicken Soup for the Soul Touched by an Angel is the perfect read this holiday season. I love to curl up with a blanket, coffee and a little chicken soup for the soul!
