The Secrets of Silk

If u have not read any of Allison Hobbs books u r truly missing out. The Secrets of silk was 1 deranged story but awesome read. I couldn't put it down. Ms. Hobbs did her thing in this tale of deceit, scheming, murder and sex.

The Secrets of Silk is a book I really enjoyed! Out of the backwoods of Louisiana emerged one of the most corrupted females I've read about...The vicious crimes & acts she committed & got away with were unconscionable! The trickery & the deception she used toward people including her husband Buddy were downright scandalous. Although she was able to fool many, there was one she could not deceive.. The one who raised her. I must say this was a well written story that had my emotions all over the place, laughing at one sentence & shaking my head at the next. I thought Misty was something else but Silk has her beat hands down! This is another great book by Allison Hobbs that I highly recommend that will keep you glued to the pages from beginning to end!

Where can I start with this one? Allison Hobbs doesn't disappoint me with any of her novels. When I was reading this book I simply could not put it down. I probably would've finished it in one day if it wasn't for work.I really experienced a whole bunch of emotions reading this book.
Silk was a Louisiana native, light-skinned, and a full blown sex pot. Everywhere that she goes she turns heads, starts trouble, and leaves broken hearts. Big Mama, her only known Guardian, uses the powers of voodoo and her swamps to perfect her spells and uses other, she we say "natural ingredients" to perfect her spells. Silk on the other hand uses the power of her poontang to get what she wants. The novel takes place in the 1950's and 1960'. Allison writes about shiny caddies, juke box joints with bars, colored boys and girls. I personally loved the historical context within the novel, I think she did a great job being descriptive. What's even better is the fact that I could picture it all in my mind. Silk and Big Mama's relationship is what really took me for a loop. the relationship they have is not quite normal. It's dirty, perverted, and absolutely taboo (really made me sick to be honest). After having sexcapades in the swamp that eventually ended up in murder, Silk hauls ass and ends up in Chester, Pennsylvania to continue her sex-filled, money scheming, murdering rampage, as well as bamboozling people in the process. I really needed to regroup sometimes to process all the lies and trickery she used to get her ways. I've read some pretty sick stories of people doing awful things, but Silk tool sick to a whole new level. It's bad enough she thought some pretty graphics and horrendous things, but to actually carry out those thoughts is beyond crazy and evil. She didn't spare anyone's life, not her husband, not the men she carried on with behind her husband's back, not even the poor children. Without a shadow of a doubt Silk is one of the most unethical, deranged, evil, and unmoral human being I've ever encountered in a book. I highly recommend this book. I swear it will make you smack your own mama.

Big Mama had me scared, especially at the end. Her mental was not right. But then Silk being raised by a backwoods woman was so treacherous and prone to violent acts against men, women and children alike. Silk cared about Silk and loved money. Glad to see she paid for those sins at the hands of you-know-who. Allison Hobbs has some good books out and lots of great stories to tell. Read this one and laugh, then cry, then laugh some more. It gets a 4 **** rating from me.

Silk Moreax was determined to use her womanly ways to get the things that she wants out of life. Raised by a medicine woman, she has been exposed to too much at a young age. Tragedy strikes and she flees to a small town in Pennsylvania. Once there, her conniving ways are brought to the forefront. In the midst of it all, Silk forgets the parting hex of Big Mama.
The overall message conveyed in this book is KARMA. Silk lied, used people and destroyed families without thinking about the aftermath. I think someone failed to tell her that what goes around, comes back around.
Once again, I was blown away by the creative pen of @allisonhobbsbestsellingauthor. This was not at all what I expected, and I couldn't put it down. I highly recommend this 💎💎💎💎💎book.

Wow. I didn't know what to expect from this author nor this book, but I can say it was interesting and fast paced. Truthfully, my opinions for the characters changed frequently. sometimes I felt they got what they deserved, and other times, I wondered why somethings happened to them. I enjoy some of her books, but can't read all of the because I personally don't read erotica. But I truly enjoyed this story.

Silk was a whole trip, she destroyed a lot of lives. I feel for Dallas the most, I hope life gets better for her. Poor Duke was charged with Nathan's murder.Big Mama survived & waited for Silk's return however, her revenge was short lived.

I must say Allison Hobbs didn't disappoint at all!!! Silk was something else. I don't see how she thought Nathan Lee would eventually be with her. Big Mama sure did shock me when she started talking about the special treatment. I was like wait, what?! From one destination to the next, there were many people that became Silk's victims. She truly was a manipulative chick. Clara sure did talk too damn much!!! All that talking and she didn't even realize just how bad she would cause things to be for her brother and his children. Buddy was too vulnerable and avoided all the signs about Silk. Wow the things she did to the twins had me ready to straight beat her behind!!! I couldn't believe this chick would even do the things she did to any of the kids. Tate beat her ass good but the lie she made up had me on edge. She was pissing me off by doing the most. So what happens when the money has ran out and you need to continue with the lifestyle you became accustomed to?! Karma sure has a way of coming at you when you least expect it. She went to the extreme and destroyed the life she had with Buddy but in the end it cost her dearly. Silk was so concerned with the demise of Arvetta and her husband and never realized she was getting played all along. Arvetta truly did get one up on her. Once I realized the hex placed on Silk, all I could do was laugh! Big Mama is crazy as I don't know what!!! All the bad Silk did or ever went through was because of Big Mama and not because of her being born that way. In the end Big Mama may helped Silk by taking her in but just as easily took her life away. Great book!!!

The Secrets of Silk by Allison Hobbs had me hooked from the start. The author did a great job with giving the reader a story that kept me reading and wanting to know what would happen next. The main character Silk was something else and that's putting it lightly. She wrecked havoc on some of the people's lives and did not care. I was surprised and could not even guess what she would do next. I don't want to give too much of this story away so you just have to read this one for yourself. This book was well written and had me up late reading. I definitely recommend this book to others and want to read more from Allison Hobbs.

Allison Allison where do you get these crazy ass stories from I didn't think you could find a women crazier then Missy and low and behold here comes Silk. You always seems to amaze me I'm never disappointed when I'm reading your books. thanks again for the shout out. Based on the lies that Silk told Clara, she had no idea that she had vouched for Satan when she brought Silk to her brother's house and introduced her to her church family and friends. It didn't take long for Silk to show what she was made of. For those of you who read Misty, if you think she was bad, wait until you read Silk.

Excellent! If I didn't believe in karma, I believe in it after reading this book. It was different than what I'm use to reading by Allison Hobbs but, it certainly was a good read. Silk Moreaux was something else. Liar, cheat, killer, promiscuous, child abuser, etc. Meeting her demise was shocking. Read it for yourself.

Allison Hobbs has done it yet again! A hauntingly wicked read, Kept me up at night! Allison managed to keep the "Erotica" while weaving a tale of such grandeur,,,,,,a truly amazing read! Thank you again Allison Hobbs!

This book was SSOOOO good!! The main character Silk will have you so mad you will just want to reach through the book and shake the crap out of her. I hate the main character!! But awesome book!!!

Silk is one of the most ruthless characters I have ever read about! For sure this book is a page turner and crazy as all out doors! I recommend it! Silk and her Big Mama two words....hot mess!!
