Eden Ross is a 17-year-old self-published author who released her debut novel: The Age of Fire - Rise of Warriors, in December. This book was the first in her fantasy trilogy series. Eden has been writing for as long as she can remember, and at just 11 years old, she had an idea that eventually became The Age of Fire. She began writing the final draft of The Age of Fire when she was 15 and finished a few months later. After that, Eden worked tirelessly to get it published. Eden is based out of her home in the US. She loves dragons, books, movies, and her goofy little puppy, Oliver. If she's not writing, she's reading, drawing, or baking.
First of all, I'd like to give a warning that I am not very good at writing reviews, and I don't really do it often, but I am honest about how I feel about a book when I do. And this book, oh my GOODNESS, I 100% recommend you go read the first book and then this one if you like fantasy! They have it all, interesting characters, villains that are actually evil, crazy worldbuilding, DRAGONS, romance, friendship, found family. She covered it all! There may be spoilers in this next paragraph, I will try my best to avoid them, but read with caution anyways. So this book kept me up all night reading I literally couldn't put it down. The character development was literally perfection, and I absolutely adored the Ares and Lyra content. ALSO. i cried a little. Which is very rare for me but omg. Okay I think that's all I wanted to cover, thank you so much Eden Ross for sending me an ARC of your book!!!! TO SUM IIT ALL UP, I RECOMEND THIS BOOK 100% FIVE STARS.
First, I would like to thank Eden for allowing me to be an ARC reader for this AMAZING sequel in the Age of Fire trilogy. It was truly an honor to get to read this beautiful book before everyone else.
Second, it’s time to talk about how crazy good this sequel is. I think it’s rare to find a sequel that is on-par with its predecessor, let alone better. But Eden Ross found a way to outshine her enchanting debut novel with its heart-wrenching sequel.
The progress that Eden has made in her storytelling just goes to show how amazing of a writer she is. The emotional connection I felt to each and every character in this book is just a testament to that progress. I laughed, giggled, screamed, and cried with these characters throughout this novel, outward displays of emotions that only a few other books have been able to get me to show.
Ares and Lyra will forever have my heart, and Phoenix and Ada have snuck in there too. So many beautiful characters surround this story filled with dragons, magic, and insane world building that blows my mind to this day.
This is definitely a 5⭐️ book for me, and I CANNOT wait to see where this story comes to a close in AoF3!
Woah, this was amazing. Far better than I was ready for. I’m currently thinking 4.75 but perhaps a 5 star…
The first one was good, don’t get me wrong, but this book definitely did NOT suffer from second-book-syndrome. Thanks to the first book, I already knew all the characters and the plot was pretty much set up and rolling from the first page - that’s a huge upgrade in my eyes because in the first book it was initially hard to get into because there was a huge information overload for me at the start (but once I got passed that I loved it anyway!!).
I was attached to the characters and the storyline by the time I started this one, and I feel like in the short time span between this and the first, Eden Ross’ writing is already improving, and this made me fly through this book and enjoy it even more than the rise of warriors. I felt fully immersed everytime I picked this book up and I was constantly excited to get back to reading it. I cannot wait for the third and final book in this trilogy‼️
🚨If you like:🚨 Great villains (easy to hate) ✅ Fantastic heroes and character development✅ Amazing platonic and romantic relationships✅ Brilliant world-building✅ Creative storyline and plot (I love the dragons and everything involved with them)✅ Good writing ✅ 🚨Then definitely check out this series🚨🚨
First off, I want to give a huge THANK YOU to Eden for sending me an arc of this book. Secondly, ohmygosh y'all if you haven't read the first Age of Fire book yet, please go do so now!! I already loved the first one, and this one is even better! It gave me ALL the feels (I was actually tearing up at one point), & it's so bingeable, which I love. Every time I put it down, I'd pick it back up 5 minutes later. The plot & characters are perfect; I'm especially excited to see more of Blair & Lyra + Ares in book 3 🥹 Just WOW, thank you for writing these incredible books, Eden <3
Gonna try to make this non spoilers so read at your own risk. For non spoilers don't read between the brackets.
I loved this book so much it was ssoooo goood. All the elements were right. I loved the couples I'm not gonna tell who did already come together and who not. They are so adorable and I love how they all are starting to lett the walls they have build around themselves slowly go down for the person they love, even if they don't want to admit it. The villains are also really good I hate them but they are very fitting for the whole plot. I was frustrated when Ada went to find Phoenix because (spoiler: when she hid behind those crates with her shooting talents she could have easily take those two phantoms out before Fyku came and Phoenix would already be rescued). I do get why it had to happen because it would otherwise take a longer time before they would go to the dark realm, now they had to go to get Phoenix back. I love Blair and Aelfrun and how they are trying to help the Peacemakers from afar. Blair is so powerful. Also (spoiler: why did some of the characters have to die like why, you almost made me cry like no). I also love the Peacemakers together and how they are building a strong team. I cannot wait for the third book I need to know how this ends. So was this amazing and one of the best books next to the first in the series I read this year Yess. Do I think everyone who loves fantasy should read it. Also YES.
Some quotes <3 "Ada was his sun, his greatest joy, and whenever she wasn't near, Phoenix felt like he was lost in the dark. Like it wouldn't swallow him whole, but then she'd be there, smilling and offering him her gentle hand, pulling him back into the daylight."
"She hated it. She loved it. It drove her insane."
"Lyra, nothing could ever make me see you as anything but beautiful."
"Push him away! Kiss him! Stab him! Tell him that you're falling in love with him!
O. M. G! This book. Had me crying. Eden put me through some stuff with this book. But this book is phenomenally written and an AMAZING addition to the story! The way the characters grew and the way their relationships changed was amazing. I loved the first book, but I loved this one more. Eden Ross is a really talented and creative person, and I can't wait to see the rest of this story unfold. I was extremely grateful for the opportunity to read this book before it came out. This is the first time I've ever arc read a book, and I am extremely happy with it! The romance aspect was amazing, and the action was phenomenal! Thank you so much to Eden Ross for this opportunity!
The Age of Fire the Dark Realm was everything I could have wanted as a sequel to The Rise of Warriors. I loved seeing the development of characters and their relationships with each other. I highly recommend this book and series to anyone who loves the How to Train Your Dragon series, Lord of the Rings and Robin Hood. Everyone from the humans of Togrodyt to the Thieves of Asenghi are so lovable and enjoyable to read about. In terms of story line, I thought this was a really good read! It was both heartwarming and heart-renching, especially near the end. My one complaint was that I didn’t want the book to end, I could have gone on reading forever! (Though, that might be because I read it in a day) I 100% recommend reading this!
The moment I found this series on Instagram I knew I would love it, and I was right!!! I liked the first book, but this one was sooo much better!!! I would be reading it around the house and making random comments on what the Peacemakers or Fyku and Morwen or Blair(and the list goes on) were doing and my family got sooo mad, but it's just that good!!!! The way that Eden brings the different arcs to fruition was just soooo satisfying(✨✨✨), while other details had me in tears(why oH WHYYYYYYYYY?!!!!😭😭) I can't wait for book 3 to come out(are we really gonna have to wait a whole year???!!! Please say no!!!), so I can see the ending of the trilogy!!!!!!!
Oh. My. Gosh. What the heck Eden?! I won't go into detail but heartbreaking!!!!!!! Loved every second of it. It was an amazing sequel to Rise of Warriors and I can't wait for the final book. Also, I loved the edits in the Authors Note.
5.5/5 Stars.
Wow. This book is just as a good as I remember. The characters are so good, the plot is paced near perfect, and the plot twists still get me. My heart was broken and I loved the characters. The only thing I didn't enjoy as much was how serious the romance was for such young characters. Other than that, this book is amazing. Great job Eden.
alright so I have so much to say about this book(like... I have a LOT to say) so I'll just dive right into it, I guess!
Okay, so the plot was my favorite out of the two books I've read in the trilogy(I'm SO EXCITED for the third book omggg!!!). It had action, found family, a little bit of romance(which had my heart btw-) and SO MUCH MORE! Also, in most books when there's a "band of heroes" saving the world, even if they don't like each other, they suck it up and save the world. But I love how in this book the Peacemakers all(besides the duos they were in and Ares and Mera) basically hated each other. Mera and Lyra's rivalry was so interesting. I love how the "band of heroes" fought each other and were just so more fun to read about than the typical band of heroes that "suck it up" to save the world! That was great and pretty much one of my favorite things when watching their dynamics and feelings towards everyone shift. Plot was a 4/5 stars(mainly because here were some times where I got a little bored and skimmed through the chapter). One thing I didn't like was the lengthy chapters, but everything else in the series makes up for that. <3
Onto the characters... RONAN MY BABYYYY!!! He's so great and is my favorite character(such a fun sense of humor and such a comedic relief... he needs his own dragon with the same goofy energy). I feel like characters like Saraphina, Omar, and Cyrus became a little more developed in this book and their own personalities shined through! Well done! Ares is tied for my favorite with Ronan, obviously, but at times I feel like Ares was out of character, but that might just be me(I still love him, though). Phoenix in the first book was, I admit, not my favorite. I was not a big fan of him until the middle of this book, I think .
Lyra & Ares had me at the edge of my seat so many times throughout the book. Will-they-won't- they type of thing going on(and I loved it). Ada and Phoenix have snuck their way into my heart as well(they're so cute)
this is a great book, congratulations to Eden Ross for completing book 2 and almost on her way to publishing the final addition to the trilogy! You're such an inspiration to me and my own writing and I'm so glad that you've published your books! Congrats!
Oh. My. Gosh. I’m literally in love with these books and the amazing characters in them!! Thank you SO MUCH, Eden, for allowing me to be an arc reader for The Dark Realm!! It meant a lot to me!
Now: onto my spoiler-free review!
What I enjoyed most in this book was how the main characters interacted with each other, their very human emotions and actions really brought each of them to life within the first few chapters! From the setting, romance, and action, I could tell so much care and work was put into this book! I was on the edge of my seat, having grown so attached to every main character, hoping they’d all come together safely. Eden Ross has truly grown to be an amazing storyteller of captivating and binge-worthy stories! What a triumphant sequel to the Age of Fire series! If you haven’t read either of her books yet…what are you doing here?! Go read the Age of Fire series!! And please please please preorder this book, The Dark Realm!
First I want to give a huge thank you to Eden Ross for sending me a ARC of this book!!! Now, my rating -⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My thoughts- This book was AMAZING! As a fantasy reader I was 100% satisfied with this book, it has everything you could want, there’s action, amazing world building, amazing character development and the relationships in this book are awesome the friendship, sibling bonds, and don’t get me started on the sweet relationships of the dragons and there riders. I’m honestly not a huge fan of romance, sometimes I feel like it takes to much of the book resulting in a bad plot, but this book did not have that, there was a cute romance that actually added to the quality of the story and it was all clean. This book had me laughing, crying, and feeling like throwing hands with the bad guys. I definitely recommend this book and I’m so excited for book three!
An amazing second instalment to the trilogy. What an ending! The confusion I had with the multiple viewpoints was resolved as the characters were all together most of the book. The worldbuilding continues to be amazing! Great job Eden!
Tightrope from the greatest showman reminded me of Mera + Kilic.
4.5⭐️ So good! I actually love this book literally so much. It was actually incredible!! The way that Eden Ross can write torture is kind of scary and the way she writes the grief of characters after a character dies is so good and so sad like I was battling at the end of the book when a certain character died, it was really really sad. Also can we talk about the sneak peek into the next book when Ares asks Lyra to marry him??? Like excuse me what?!?! If it were anyone else I would think he was just teasing around but this is Ares so he was serious!! I am so excited for the next book like what is her answer????? And it also makes me so happy that Ares seems way happier in the next book then he is in the end of this book because of course he’s grieving his sister but it just breaks me how heartbroken he is so I’m really happy that he’s happy again because even though he’ll always grieve her in a way at least he can enjoy life well also remembering her

Wow. Sans parler du "you have to let me go, Kilic"...
To start this off don't give me the excuse that you don't have the time to read this book. I did summer classes and sports practices and I still managed to find time. This book was amazing! Eden Ross has a way of capturing the events to make you feel like you are really in the book. You feel for the characters as if they are your family. If you are into fantasy, dragons, found family and emotional Rollercoasters without spice I may add, The Age of Fire: The Dark Realm is your book. But, don't forget to read the Age of Fire: Rise of warriors first.
"I was lucky enough to get my hands on this book as a beta reader, and let me tell you - it's a GAME CHANGER! 🤩
With its unique blend of magic, dragons, and twisted truths, this story will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. And just when you think it can't get any better, a blossoming romance will capture your heart!
I couldn't put it down, and I'm still reeling from the experience. If you're looking for a tale that will transport you to another world, look no further! This book is an absolute must-read!"
Another amazing book from this awesome author! I love it. The characters are wonderful and it’s like you know them in real life, they are so realistic. Once again this book has dragons, war, tragedy, and romance, all that one could need. Highly recommend and it is great for teens of all ages!
