Jarrod Warner, known as Valley to his club The Devil’s House MC, is a man haunted by the shadows of his past, a ghost that literally won’t let him move on. Working at the stripclub owned by The Devil’s House MC, he unexpectedly reconnects with Madeline Wolfe aka ‘Mandy’ as she’s known at the club, a dancer with a sweet nature that captivates him just as it did in high school. By day, Madeline is a dedicated dance instructor, supporting her disabled father and two-year-old daughter, and by night, she dances to make ends meet.
Jarrod’s demons keep him from forming deep connections, yet Madeline finds a way to his heart no matter how hard he tried fighting her. Despite his desire to be with her, he pushes her away, leaving her heartbroken. Madeline, scarred by past hurts, refuses to endure more pain and protects herself from further heartbreak pushing forward, vowing to forget Jarrod, who treated her so horribly.
As Jarrod battles the past that haunts him and Madeline grapples with her feelings, an unseen threat looms over them. Someone is determined to stop and destroy the bond that is growing between the two, despite them trying to fight it and threatening to tear them apart forever.
It’s recommended to read the series in order to better understand plot lines and characters. 18+ Strong Sexual Situations, Strong Language, Violence, No Cheating, HEA
I’m on the fence about this one because the MMC, Valley, really is an Alphahole (or a something-hole, anyway) to women. It’s a pattern from when he cheated on his girlfriend, to the way he treated the club Ho-ho-hos like they were disposable, to the mind games he played with the FMC. Madalyn deserves better. I don’t really trust the sudden turnaround he made with Madalyn, especially after he treated her like something nasty he found on his boot. Yeah, he was no longer haunted by his memories of his first girlfriend Kezia, but he had established a despicable pattern of behavior before she even died. If you say Boys Will Be Boys, I’ll give you the stink eye so hard that your grandchildren will feel it. On the other hand, the plot was exciting and I liked Madalyn, so the book wasn’t a total loss. I mean, it’s not a two-star book. It’s just that Valley’s awfulness permeated this story. And some of the men didn’t take responsibility for their own past actions. Genre- MC Romance Heat- open door, explicit Safety? N Triggers- mention of the CSA and murder of a minor, cheating, misogyny, violence, language. Tropes- Reformed (?) Man ho-ho-ho, Club ho-ho-ho drama, Rat Hunt, Secrets and Lies, Male Pattern Badness, Teenage Crush, Instalove, Breakup for Her Own Good.
Jarrod "Valley" Warner knew Madeline "Mandy" Wolfe when they were in highschool. There was an unbelievable pull to her but never acted on it. Valley had a girlfriend, who was not a good enough man for and he paid the consequences of his action and to this day they still haunt them. Valley is shocked when he walks into the Devil's MC strip club and finds Mandy stripping.
Mandy is doing what she has to in order to provide for her disabled father and young child. Valley wants a chance with Mandy, but the ghost of his past is haunting him and making it difficult to start a future. Can he figure out what is going on to move past the ghosts that wont let him move away from his guilt?
I enjoyed this one quite a bit, I had a little bit of a hard time with the ghost portion of the story because it was making no sense to me. In the end it does though. I thought Mandy was a terrific character and wanted to smack Valley with his treatment of Mandy while dealing with his own issues. Great read.
2.5 stars. I’m usually not a fan of stripper (or CW) heroines but Madeleine was pretty likable. Valley, on the other hand, was not. He was a cheater, man-whore, manipulator and very dumb. He actually believed his high school girlfriend’s ghost was haunting him and would kill Madeleine if he didn’t breakup with her.
The most interesting parts of the story - Madeleine deciding to stop stripping and the fallout from the videos of all the guys participating in their free for all sex parties- were never explored or resolved. The ending was rushed and super corny and yeah, I kind of wished Madeleine found a good guy to be with - not Valley.

This was a story of revenge that nobody saw coming. Valley has been haunted by his past. When he sees the one that always was in his heart he tries to reclaim his life. But someone has a different view of what should happen to him and the others in the MC. This has some scary suspenseful moments and was an amazing end to this chapter of the Devil’s House West Virginia onto the next one.
A great read. I absolutely loved Valley and Madeline’s story ❤️❤️❤️ Great plot behind this book. A definite page turner and very entertaining. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ you will not be disappointed 😎🖤
