This is a well written book with strong characters in Lia and Valentino. The author does a great job developing the story and painting her scenes perfectly. She takes you into their lives with steam and romance and kept me reading with all the drama, intrigue and suspense. She moves the story fluidly and delivers an action packed read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and are freely given.
At first I really liked this book and was excited to see what would happen. Then after awhile the plot started to confuse me and I started to get annoyed with the MMC. He is obsessed with protecting our FMC but won't even communicate why or what he is doing. That leads to miscommunication and a third act break up which I'm not a fan of. Near the end it started to feel rushed and I felt like they brought in the deadbeat mom out of nowhere just to cause drama. Overall I didn't hate the book and I love how quickly the MMC picked up being a dad but some parts were really hard to get through.

Their Unexpected Love Adventure - Even though Lia was forced be her parents into a situation that was out of her control, she was happy with the ultimate outcome, which felt like a slap in the face of the person threatening her family. Valentino only meant to take a dig at his nemesis by stealing Lia from him, but everything changed once he had a taste and realised he was addicted to her. However, the consequences of his actions not only created problems for him, but also put Lia’s life in danger. Unfortunately, trying to keep Lia safe was a difficult task, as her stubbornness and thirst for freedom put her back in the lane of danger.
Lia made a decision to go into hiding after her fear grew stronger than she could handle, which wreaked havoc on the lives of the people she left behind. Lia discovered her life was about to change not long after she settled into her new life, but she decided to keep it a secret, that is until Valentino arrived after getting the news of her hospitalisation. Whilst Valentino and Lia were able to resolve their differences, not everyone was happy with their happy life and decided to wreak havoc on them. Nevertheless, Valentino was luckily able to resolve the problem and permanently remove the threat of their lives, so they could get a chance at living the happy life they deserved.
This story was so good, it held me in from the beginning. Ajme Williams just took me on an emotional journey filled with angst, drama, steamy sessions and action-packed moments, that had me totally captivated with the story. I urge you to grab a copy of this book, sit back and enjoy this whirlwind journey, because once you start reading m there is no chance you will stop until you finish.

Couldn't finish...not my cup of yes. But some may like, even love it
This is only the 3rd book I've DNF'd (did not finish) in my almost 70 years. I tried...I really tried to finish it (I'm OCD when it comes to finishing books); but I finally gave up at 68%. That's not to say it's a bad story. Some may really like it; some may even love it. It just wasn't my cup of tea. Why?
Well...first, the MMC (H) likes pain. It turns him on when women take out their frustrations/anger on him (physically...punch, slap, bite, scratch). I don't mind rough sex, but this is a bit extreme. Honestly, an H with a swollen, busted, bleeding lip... because his woman hit him...just makes him seem wimpy and not the alpha mafia Don he's supposed to be. A big turn-off for me.
Second, and more importantly...I'm not a fan of soooooo much angst in a story. Particularly when it's caused by dumb decisions that create more trouble or danger....and this book has more than it's share. The MFC (h), either because she thinks she knows best and/or believes the wrong person or fails to trust the right one, often makes decisions that put her in more danger and makes matters worse. Seriously, how hard can it be...believe the bad guy who's been threatening you and your family, who set-up and then blackmailed your parents, or trust and listen to the guy who's saved you (more than once) and is trying to help you and your family? I really hate when a character is faced with a decision and you KNOW he/she is going to make the wrong one, still you keep reading hoping and praying they'll make the right one, but they don't so you know bad things are going to happen. I'm okay with one, maybe two, bad decisions, but more than that? Particularly when I can't see and rhyme or reason for the bad decisions...nope, just not for me. It's like the author just wanted to create lots of threatening or dangerous situations and used the character's bad choices to do it.
It took me days to get through the first 3 quarters of this book. Every bad decision made me put it down for a few days, only to go back to it a few days later (my OCD with books). At the 68% mark when the h (for the 4th or 5th time), in her impatience, is contemplating an action that could very well ruin all the plans the H has put into place to safely remove the threat to her and her family, I almost put it down again. Still, I kept reading and she was saved from her folly as circumstances prevented her from accomplishing what she wanted. But then she goes and does something even worse...something that not only could adversely impact his plans, but will also put her in danger. I just couldn't take anymore! If you like a lot of angst and an h who is constantly in danger or being threatened by the villain, you might really like this story. I've read other works by this author that I've loved; this was not one. For me...2 stars.

Bulletproof Baby Is a well-written book with strong characters in both Lia and Valentino. I thought author Ajme Williams does a phenomenal job developing the story and painting her scenes perfectly. Ajme takes you into their lives with steam and romance and had me wanting to read more because of the drama, intrigue, and suspense. Author Ajme moves the flow of the story with ease and delivers an action packed read. Bulletproof Baby held me captive from the very beginning of the novel, and I became invested into Lia and Valentino to where I was hoping they would have a happy ending. I’m so thrilled that their story ends with them having a happily ever after. I would highly recommend reading this book to anyone. I can’t wait to see what will be next for this author. An AMAZING mafia romance.

What sort of parents would ask their daughter to auction off her virginity to save their business? Who wouldn’t protect their daughter, even if it meant giving up everything they owned? Needless to say, I didn’t think much of them and don’t know why Lia kept bending over backwards to do as they asked. But perhaps the best way to get out of the cross-hairs of one mafia boss was to grab the attention of another. So, when Saul Caputo’s plans go awry and Lia is purchased by Valentino Barrone, they spend a fiery weekend together, leaving Valentino with a niggling need to protect Lia. I loved Valentino and how he grew to care for Lia. But like Alexis in the previous book, I couldn’t help rolling my eyes at some of the dumb moves Lia made. A case in point was Lia’s decision to rush back to the city to see what was going on just as Valentino’s plans were just coming to fruition and she was safe at his house in the Hamptons. Okay, Valentino could have communicated better and kept her in the loop, but realistically what could she have done. I felt truly sorry for Valentino when Lia decided to run, though I don’t understand why he didn’t question her cousin Frankie when he returned to New York. It all gets a bit frustrating when after eight months “in exile” Lia returns to visit Frankie, assured that she’s no longer in danger. This is the mafia we’re talking about, right? So, as you might expect, there’s a bit of drama before Valentino and Lia get their happy ever after with an all too quick rush to the end. Cat’s Stats MMC/FMC- Valentino and Lia Genre- Mafia Romance Length- about 260 pages Heat- 🌋🌋🌋🌋 with a pain kink Series? Y Safety? Y Triggers- Graphic violence, explicit erotic content, language, kidnapping Tropes- Age Gap, Virgin Heroine, Virginity Auction, Dysfunctional Family FTW, Surprise Pregnancy, Secret Pregnancy, Love is a Battlefield, Do-Si-Do with the Mafioso Mewsings The characters are this book’s greatest strength. Valentino, with his pain kink and his toughness, while craving Lia and wanting to protect her. Lia, with her desperate love for parents who are too wrapped up in themselves to see that though Lia is tough, she has a vulnerable side. Frankie, whose very presence is a balm to the soul, with his funny comments, his happy go lucky charm, and his willingness to do anything for family. Every character is interesting, from the fixer who dresses like an extra from Miami Vice to the dead Nonna whose legacy included a rent-controlled apartment and a collection of Ice Capades videos, and each is integral to the story and just a joy to read. The plot is slightly more than the usual surprise pregnancy storyline, with mafia hijinks that are both very complex and very simple. But it’s the characters that elevate this story into a five-star rating.

Valentino was on heck of a man. He had me melting from the spice. Lia was pretty cool. She did some things that I had to smack my head a few times but I grew to like her 😆 I loved the side characters. Frankie was my favorite out of them all. The plot was thick and was entertaining. The spice was spicy and boy did Valentino get me going 🫣 This definitely was a good read and I would read more by this author.

Bulletproof Baby is part of the Mafia Mysteries series and follows Lia and Valentino. While it's an age gap secret pregnancy mafia romance it also so much more.
Lia is the office manager of Bonetti Brothers Construction the company that her parents own. Her parents are in deep trouble with Saul Caputo the don of the Caputo crime family an evil vile man who demands weekly payments or he'll take their business, unfortunately that's not the only thing he wants he wants Lia. So he makes them an offer that if Lia takes part in an auction they will get the money when he wins the bid. He thinks he's got everything under control but what he doesn’t plan on was Valentino Barrone don of the Barrone family, and CEO of Barten Security and his enemy to outbid him. Unfortunately life is about to get complicated when Saul wants revenge for taking what he thinks is his. Life as she knows it is going to change. Danger is coming! Will she allow Valentino to keep her safe or will she take matters into her own hands? I must say I really disliked her parents.

Bulletproof Baby is part of the Mafia Mysteries series. It's a steamy, OTT, age-gap, secret pregnancy, curvy virgin gets her mafia man romance. Lia is a young girl whose family's business is in danger. Her parents want her to auction off her virginity (crazy lol) to save them. Valentino, an older, hunky mobster, buys her to stick it to his mafia rival. These two get their hot night and fall a little bit in love. They part ways, and she realizes she is pregnant. Valentino wants to protect her and intends to do just that. This was a great story with lots of twists and turns. The chemistry was hot, and after a lot of drama and a third act break-up up, we get a happy ending for our couple. I liked the main characters but also wanted to slap them at times. I absolutely adored Frankie. The ending was a little rushed, but overall, I really enjoyed the story.

This book started off interesting, Alpha savior complex, and romantic. Valentino is the boss and he saves Lia from an awful mess with a mob boss Saul who is blackmailing her family like it’s a sport. Lia was good for 40 percent of the book. Then, she started consistently making unsafe choices that put Valentino and her favorite cousin Frankie in danger. People are trying to kill you, do better. I had hoped that two times would be it and then Lia would think about the danger of the men who stormed into her apartment set to do harm. For the last 60 percent, I could not continue to read after Lia made the statement “I know Valentino told me to stay inside for my own safety but I don’t know how long that he will be gone.” Well before he left he said he bought enough food to last at least 3-4 days and that he would be back then. I skimmed to the end and just shook my head!
I have mixed feelings about this book. I both liked it and didn’t at the same time. Don’t get me wrong I like this book, but the blurb implies that Lia is bada** dodging bullets and fighting off her attraction to Valentino. Lia was a weak FMC. SPOILER!!!!!!
She left when things got tough. Nothing about that is strong or bad a**. She came back when she was about to give birth. Honestly, I didn’t like her as an FMC. The only reason I finished this book is because I genuinely like the idea of the story but the FMC sucked. Valentino though. Yeah that mother f**ker is another reason I finished this book. Loved him! The spice was good (She did Not try hard to fight with not doing the deed with him; don’t really blame her on that one). Anyways, I liked this book, but I didn’t love it. The blurb was misleading. Overall, it was good but don’t go into it thinking the FMC is a bad a**.

I appreciate the storyline thickened up throughout. Valentino was a class act from the very beginning. Edith & Milo Bonetti are the gum on the bottom of my shoes-they can never redeem themselves in my eyes. I felt like overall the story did a great job at not getting too gruesome. I hadn’t read any of the others before but I felt like all the characters gave the perfect amount of background to see how they all played into it.
The introduction between Frankie and Valentino was pure gold.
And one of the most relatable quotes “People walk up and down the street as if my life’s not flipping upside down at every turn.”
It was a good book and I would recommend as it kept its pace throughout.

Valentino and Lia's story kept me on the edge of my seat, the story is well-written and full of surprises. The main characters are Lia, who's considered nothing more than a pawn by her family. So when Lia's family need to raise some money they decide to auction her off with no regard to her feelings.
Valentino aka Val is the guy who wins the auction, he's a Mafia Boss who doesn't get involved with women but then finds himself having to protect Lia from the person responsible for her family's predicament.
I loved all the twists and turns the author gave us as well as all the heat, chemistry and varied emotions woven into this tale.

Good ode mafia story and I love it!Poor Lia,her parents get in very bad trouble and Saul knows about it and he trys to hang it over Lia's head. But she keeps refusing until her parents tell her she must go out with him,so she does but Saul is up with his tricks and the next thing Lia knows she is action off but not to Saul which he planned but to Val another mafia Don.The plan was she was being action off to just spend the weekend with end with each other. But Lia wants to get rid of her v card with Val so if Saul fines out she already lost her virginity he will leave her alone, but it doesn't work out that way. This story has a lot of secerts, action and cover upsbut a happy ending!
Lia gets into a difficult position due to her parents (who I am so not impressed with) and Valentino uses that to his advantage, while still taking care of Lia (though she throws a few spanners into the works).
Mafia / Bratva, age-gap, surprise / hidden pregnancy, steamy, with great chemistry, twists, turns, danger, a third act break up and a HEA.
I loved Lia's cousin Frankie, their relationship and interactions, and the specifics of Valentino's pain kink is not something I have read before.
While part of a series, it only briefly includes a character from a previous book (as far as I can figure) so is a standalone (but the other books in the series are well worth reading too).

Lia works for her parents construction company. When her parents end up on the wrong side of the Mafia, Lia gets caught in the middle. Valentino is a Mafia boss with a grudge. In an effort to spite his rival Valentino bids on Lia at an auction.
This story was sweet. Valentino had a rough past and Lia adds just the right sweetness to soften him. The book is full of drama and is a page turner. I will say I wish the main drama wasn't left to the last few pages and then short of rushed through.

Another great addition to Williams' Mafia Mysteries series. Well written with all the dark, danger, suspense, and twists you could want. Williams delivers in this age gap, surprise baby romance read. Our main characters are Lia and Valentino who are both strong and deliver the best steamy chemistry amongst all the drama and action. Williams amazes with her smooth, thrilling storyline. I loved it and can't wait for more!

Lia's parents owe a debt to Saul and he wants her in exchange. Her parents convince her to participate in an auction, to help raise money to pay Saul off. Don Valentino Barrone, CEO of Barten Security and mostly into legitimate businesses is at the same auction. He is enemies with Saul and outbids him for Lia.
Saul is not happy with the turn of events and is determined to take revenge on Val and get Lia. Val is going to have to keep her safe.

Very distracting to see lines cut and spliced in repeating a few paragraphs later along with entire scenes repeated. I’m also STRUGGLING with a made man, Don of La Familia, bad ass heart throb Italian man, name Valentino but lets people call him VALLEY? Yeah, no, that’s a no from me dawg.
Oh and if they’re Italian mobsters/mafia it’s La famiglia not La familia. Familia is Spanish and in Mexico they’d be cartel not mafia. The story was kind of all over the place too.
Mia's family is being blackmailed by Saul, a slimy mafia dom. Saul wants Mia, but she keeps refusing him. Saul pressures her parents to get her to agree to a virgin auction where she would be with the winner for a weekend. Mia reluctantly agrees but she is relieved when Valentino wins her instead. However, Saul wants revenge. Will Valentino be able to keep Mia and her family safe?
I really enjoyed this book. Great characters.

Terrible. It’s not often I even feel the need to write a review for a book because I’m usually just pleasantly occupied and entertained and then move along to the next one. However, this was almost painful. The plot and concept were there, but the writing was terrible and it was so quick. I know everyone has their own tropes, but Insta love is not my thing… not to mention, I actually like at least a little bit of probability and possibility in my stories. And the type of timeline we were operating on was just absolutely cringe worthy.

Lia is auctioned off and Valentino has to have her, it helps that it might spite another man he likes to get the better of. Will Lia regret her choice to auction her virgity? Or will it be a good turn in her life? I enjoyed this mafia romance, both Lia and Valentino were easy to like, and had nice chemistry, but I don't think I really like Lia's parents and what they put their daughter through.

Bulletproof Baby by Ajme Williams is the tantalizing story of Valentino and Lia. When her parents find themselves in trouble, she becomes their way out…at a huge price. But, then Valentino steps in a changes everything…now, the situation is even more volatile and dangerous.
So much happening in this wonderful read!!! I loved the edginess, the domination, and the shocks that are riddled throughout the story!!! Great read!!!
Lia is pushed into helping her family when they are being extorted by a mob boss. Valentino is in the right place at the right time to help her. Little do they know that, although they may not see a future together, fate has other plans.
This us a great book with relatable characters. I loved the story line.
