MISS LEXI JAMES HOW COULD YOU END THE SERIES 😭
I have only read four of the six books in this series, weirdly those being 1, 2, 5 and now 6, and I have loved all of them, I cannot wait to read books three and four but I won’t lie when I say that it now is gonna feel bittersweet knowing that the series is now over. I have very quickly fallen in love with these characters and the chosen family Lexi has created.
Stella is the FMC and she is Rex’s(MMC in the first book) younger sister. She is a baker and owns her own bakery which every character frequents. She is fiercely independent however and is reluctant to accept help from her family.
Miles is our MMC, he is best friends with Rex as well as the others when he moved to New York for his rookie year in the NHL. His friends see him as a playboy and that may have been true in his younger days but just because he isn’t in a committed relationship now doesn’t mean he can’t enjoy some spicy time. However throughout the book you get to know him even more and I think he may be the new #1 mmc for this series…maybe I’m still unsure, we’ll see the final ranking when I read books 3 and 4.
Anyway Stella and Miles meet before he knows that Stella is related to Rex and they hit it off, it seems like they both really like each other from that, but she becomes off limits so they go years without pursuing anything but when Stella gets into a little trouble, he is there to help. Struggling with liking her but not wanting to lose his best friend he keeps trying to set boundaries. But Miles is good for her, and you can just tell how much he cares.
The spice was spicy, it was spicing all the way and oh was it HOT!!
I am so grateful that I got to receive this as an Arc and cannot wait to read what Lexi releases next.

Quotes I Loved
“I’m just saying, if you wanted to be close to me while you slept, my couch is always open. You don’t have to fake working out during your offseason to hang out with me,” he says with a wink.
"Hey, Trouble,"
It's something I've learned over the years, and it's always to protect those around him. If he's seen something happen to someone he cares about, Miles will do whatever he can to right the wrong, usually taking down the perpetrator in the process. I've seen it happen dozens of times over the years, mostly on the ice, which is always exciting. Miles is an incredible defenseman, always has been since that first year he joined the team. But he becomes a different beast when someone pisses him off by going after one of his teammates. It's like there's this whole other side to him that only comes out when he's protecting his people and honestly, it's hot as fuck.
"This shit is so good," Stella moans, snapping me out of my daydreams as she takes another bite of just the bread. I stare, my eyes watching her mouth chew, her throat bobbing as she swallows, and listening to her cute little moans as the taste explodes on her tongue. Fuck me. "Being jealous of a piece of bread wasn't on my BINGO card for life, but if you keep moaning while eating, I might have to throw hands with that sandwich," I joke, but my eyes have yet to move from her mouth.
Running through the sudden rainstorm, her tiny hand swallowed in mine, we make our way to the truck, and I can't help but wonder if this is what life is all about. Or what it's supposed to be all about. I've always thought life had to be perfect to be enjoyable... to be worth it... but what if that's not it at all. What if what we are searching for is the person who can weather the storm with. The person who makes every storm seem beautiful, every trial seem worth it, and every rainbow so magical it leaves you ready and willing to go through the next storm to experience it again.
