Ryan has learned that there is more at stake than just a single realm. The orc horde is still a deadly enemy but it's the hands which are pulling the strings which have to be feared more.
His team is growing larger as some of the new cultivators commit themselves to him, and he is making sure they all grow stronger. Now, he has to figure out how to combine the psionics of his bloodline, the cultivation of the human realm, and the magic of glyphs to be able to create the most powerful version of himself.
Come join Ryan as he battles for home to call his own in the Divided Realms.
David Burke is a mild manner something who tries to enjoy each day a bit more than the last. It dawned upon him at some point that life was racing him by and he wasn’t nearly as young as he used to be.
So now he spends his nights and lunch hours and any other free time he can putting down on paper all the stories that have collected up over a life time.
A typical 'white savior' xianxia variation. Complete with the ridiculous good fortune, hypocrisy, moralizing, and hero worship. It's fun enough, and I expect that I will read the next one, but it feels like all the original ideas have been used up. Everything is a mix of anime harems, poorly used idioms, D&D planar lore, and shonnen fight scenes. Thankfully, this narrative should conclude next book - unless the author tries to stretch it to two books.
Alternate universe, LitRPG, cultivation, fantasy races, save the world, harem fade to black
Ryan continues his grand quest to save the Divided Realms with the aid of his wives and growing allies. In the meantime, he continues to run afoul of the elitist cultivators who believe those who aren't cultivators should not only provide for cultivators, but also be servile to them, effectively working as a caste system. Most women also fare poorly under this system, and Ryan's attitude and treatment of his wives as equal partners with their own roles to play continues to attract the attention of the women around him. His three wives, overwhelmed by his modern sensibilities on how men and women are supposed to interact have fallen hard for him. They quickly see Ryan needs help dealing with other potential brides from families jockeying for social advancement, and Ryan is more than happy to let his current wives handle the matter. All while the local kingdom struggles against cultivator armies of orcs and other races continue to open dimensional portals to invade from.
The social dynamics amid leveling make for absorbing reading. Average editing, but over 600 pages of story for your money, in addition to pages and pages of LitRPG stuff. Characters are well done, and social conflicts and motivations are deftly handled. Dialog is also well done. Enjoying the series.
Plenty of cultivation, fighting and some intrigue along with interesting relationsbhip development.
The MC continues to grow, but his enemies are accumulating too. The wind sect head seeks help from an old monster, while the spirit of his wife's evil mother allies with the orc princess that was rescued by the orc battle goddess. Turns out that the orc incursion is being pushed by demons, as if orcs weren't bad enough. After a trip to hell, the MC and one of his gf's return to the realm and have to prepare to face the council while getting ready to marry a noble that he'd uplpgraded to a cultivator.
Ryan has learned that there are things out there so much worse than the orcs. Fortunately, he has time to make himself and his wives stronger. Even better, cultivators are starting to swear their allegiance to him instead of the sects for the protection of the Divided Realms. If he can strengthen them, they may have a chance.
This cultivation series Just keeps getting better! It is a PG 13 harem story, so romance is a big part of it, but everything happens behind closed doors. The women in the series are well developed and are more than just objects for the MC. It’s exciting that I’m starting to see the ways that it will connect with Welcome to the Multiverse. The ending really sets the stage for a great finale! Daniel Wisniewski and Rebecca Woods do a great job with the narration.
If you've stuck around this long there's not much to say. Only a few editing mistakes, good action, more progression. Raised stakes like in most of his books. I feel good about it. Again, adult stuff is PG/PG-13 in this series, but it's good enough to stand on its own so as always, I'm fine with that.
David Burke has done it again! Absolutely knocked it out of the park. Loved the story, loved the progression and the fights were excellent. Can’t wait for the next book.
Without a doubt, this was the best book so far in the series. From the beginning to end, the pace was great. There was no wasted space or filler to padd the chapters.
This just keeps getting better. This takes OP to a completely other level. Freaking whiplash. We finally get to travel to another realm and see what could potentially happen next...so good.
Nonstop adventuring from beginning to end!! As always first rate world building and character development is a pleasure to read!!!! I can't wait to see what happens next!!!!
Loved the story. What happened to his demonic and celestial bloodlines in his final stats? It's confusing. Some of his other stats seemed to have dropped. Still gave 5*. The stats are nice to have, but not critical.
Nice action filled story impressively done dealing with over powered characters, while somehow making it realistic. Lots of growth in Ryan and his wives.
I was afraid this book would be all build up, but it did tie off a few plot threads at the end. I wan't to see how things go now that some founders are being woken up.
One hell of action pack book,it was one big Rollercoaster of nonstop action. I look forward to reading the next book and waiting to see where the action goes next
It gets pretty tiring hearing all of Ryan's wives brag about how great he is to other people. And who knew there were so many different things that could sound like reality itself tearing apart.
Quite liked the general theme of this story. Has a lot of potential. However each book in the series goes into insipid happy family harems which trends worse as the series goes on. I won't be reading any more of this insipid rubbish.
