After completing the previous season of her true crime podcast, barista Joss Miller is ready to hang up her microphone for good. But when she meets Lily Hartman, the widow of a renowned choir director found dead last Christmas Eve, Joss’s sense of justice won’t let her walk away.
Joss soon realizes that quite a few people—including Lily—have something to hide. Her detective boyfriend isn’t too crazy about her diving into another cold case. The closer Joss gets to the truth, the more she must confront her own past traumas and decide if pursuing justice is worth the risk.

It is always a pleasure reading one of Tyora Moody's books. The Joss Miller series has been an exciting adventure of suspense and mystery, with a touch of family drama and a whole lot of love.
This author has a way of captivating her audience, I’m so glad I discovered her books! Barista’s kiss 🤌🏾
Joss Miller is on her 3rd case and this one is so much more interesting than the last. This story follows Joss as she tries to uncover the truth about the death of Vince Hartman and honestly everyone is telling her to be very very careful. With all the blame on Vince’s second wife things heat up when the culprit is found to be someone nobody would’ve ever expected and the reasoning is even more unexpected until someone says something on the podcast. This book was juicy from beginning to end.
I highly recommend this book to individuals who enjoy murder mysteries, true crime and cold cases with a fictional twist of course!
I’m interested to see if the author would at one point or another have a women culprit. Only time would tell!
Moody does it again!! This series keeps getting better and better.
I loved how unpredictable this case came out to be. At first I thought I knew the suspect, and then I couldn’t trust anyone at all, and then CURVEBALL? I was all wrong, but that’s what makes this book a 5 for me. The suspense hits!
As far as Andre and Joss goes, I’m really enjoying their relationship. Andre is just the sweetest and most caring man. I love his assertiveness and yet gentleness… like YES. Chefs kiss. Plus the sweet surprise at the end?! WE STAN.
Moody did a really great job with this. I can’t wait for book #4!
4 stars! A really great read. I love the mixed media elements with the podcasts and text messages included throughout the story. Joss is a fantastic character - loyal, relatable, and strong-willed. This is more of a Thanksgiving cozy to me than Christmas, although the cold case discussed occurred on Christmas Eve.
Excellent read, I enjoyed the characters and storyline. Joss Miller is a relatively new podcaster of true crime cold case’s. In her Charleston S.C., home she finds intriguing cases to explore. The author Tyora Moody, never fails to provide fast paced mysteries that hold your attention.
I was skeptical of this series at first, but the 3rd iteration of this book has been my favorite. I enjoyed how the mystery was solved and how there was tension and excitement without the heaviness of direct danger to the main character. Excited to read more about Joss.
This one really peaked my interest much sooner in the story. I liked that Joss was flexing her investigator skills more. I did not see this coming. I thought that it was the some partner of the brother. Nice surprise to see who the culprit turned out to be. Now, if we can just get Joss and Andre married.....
I didn't love the ending of this one. I thought it was really interesting until then. I also think this may have been the heaviest handed with the Christianity portion of the story. But I still really enjoyed this and I hope that more comes out and my library continues to get them.
