From the author's website: A reader since I could pick up a book, my goal in grade school was to read every book in the library. I didn't quite make it through every book, but I came darn close, and thus my love of literature was born. I started writing in high school and have continued through today. I didn't follow my muse to college, at least not at first. Instead, I floundered around and managed to complete a degree with concentrations in Psychology, Communications and Women's Studies at Eastern Washington University. But, the pull of the written word wasn't done with me yet, and I went back to school to complete a Masters in Humanities through California State University. With a thesis on Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu's vampire tale "Carmilla", it was a gothic writer's dream come true.
Today, I'm still writing and reading a ton of books. With the advent of electronic publishing I can carry any number of books in my Kindle. I'm never without a touch of fiction. I'm a member of Romance Writers of America, the Transylvanian Society of Dracula, Team Blaze (a local triathlon group), and a local K9 search & rescue team.

I have been wanting to read this series for a while, and after getting book 3 from NetGalley, I thought I better start at the beginning. This is a solid paranormal story with some romance. I enjoyed the setting and the story-line.
The reason I can not rate this above 3 stars is twofold. One, I can't help but feel like I have read a very similar story before. It did not have the lesbian twist. But I remember a house on a cliff, that is haunted, and the occupants most solve the mystery. I have such a strong sense of deja-vu that I can't get out of my head, that I know this story.
My other issue was with the writing. It was not bad, it's just the style. I felt like I was watching this story from very far away. I didn't feel the connection with the characters. I was just a far away observer. The characters are likeable, I just couldn't feel them enough.
I will be reading book 2 and 3 soon, so hopefully the my connection with these books can grow a bit more.

Solid 3.5 stars.

Twisted Echoes by Sheri Lewis Wohl is a solid, well written book. This is a tale of the supernatural with a side of love. This book will definitely grab your attention from the beginning.

Lorna Dutton has inherited her Aunt Bea’s glorious Victorian home on the western coast of Washington. Lorna takes this gift and runs. This is a chance for her to escape. You see, Lorna, has had her heart broken by her ex. The love she thought was going to last forever didn’t hold up, and her ex, Anna, was really having an affair for quite some time. That has to sting! So Lorna high tails it to her new home, leaving Spokane and her past behind. What she gets is visions of two ghosts, who cannot rest until Lorna finds out the truth of their deaths.

The other main character is Renee Austin. Renee is the daughter of Aunt Bea’s housekeeper, Jolene. She grew up in the house Lorna has now inherited, and now she must return to her childhood home after losing her Seattle based business and home to a devastating fire. By the way, Renee sees people’s auras, and what she sees in Lorna’s has her convinced that she is someone special.

There is a myriad of sub-characters in this story as well. I felt at times they were given too much attention. These characters, especially Lorna’s brother, detracted from the time the author could have spent with Lorna and Renee together establishing their bond. I liked the book, I enjoyed the paranormal aspect, but I wasn’t completely sold on the love established by the two mains. It seemed rushed in my opinion. With this being said, I would still read the next in the series!

This story was very well written. It pulled me in from the get go. I was totally captivated for around the first 100 pages then, for some reason I can't quite put my finger on, it started to drag.

I think that was partly due to the fact that I got sick of hearing about past lovers. I get they have to be mentioned when a story is about moving on and finding new love, but for the ex to rear their head throughout an entire story becomes tiresome for me.

The characters were well drawn, I loved the addition of the dog, but found it odd that every single one of the characters didn't have a job, for one reason or another. That aside it worked for this story as various events bought them altogether.

Once I hit the last chapters, I began frantically turning the pages again, although by then I thought the outcome was pretty much a given.

I'll be honest I read this one because I had heard the next one was better and I wanted to have some background. I tend to find paranormal books that are romances make me roll my eyes. This one didn't go too far off the deep end on either side so I liked it well enough.

I'm not much for books dealing with the supernatural but someone recommended this author's vampire books to me and I thought they were pretty good. This book was quite the disappointment. It is not at all well written like her other books I have read. The story feels disjointed and it takes forever to get to the point. I did like the main characters but they went from friends to lovers with very little in between. Suddenly BAM I love you. It's almost as if Sherri had some sort of deadline that caused this book to be released too early and she didn't have time to polish it. I have already purchased another book in the series (bought before reading this one)so I'll give this series one more chance. Hope the next is better because this one was excruciating to finish.

( I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.)

I enjoyed this book more than i thought i would when i started reading it F/F relationships aren't exactly my cup of tea but i could over look that because of the great plot that this book has, very mysterious in the beginning but everything starts to take form a bit later and i liked the mains characters in the book, the supernatural elements in this book is what kept me interested and entertained throughout the majority of the book and in the end i didn't regret reading it at all.
I recommend this to anyone who likes romance and mystery.

I enjoyed the book, the story was interesting as were the characters, I would have liked a bit more darkness to kick it up a notch, but all in all it was a good read.

The first book is always interesting and this one was indeed something. Very sad about what happened because honophobes only cause so much pain, but the triumph at the ending was very rewarding, sad but still good.
