Welcome to the Puppy Place--where every puppy finds a home!
While rehearsing for a play, Charles meets Cooper, a corgi with a whole lot of personality. Charles only feels comfortable onstage with Cooper there with him. Can Charles find this star of a pup a home?
Cute book! Very good for 1st-2nd grade read alouds. Per my first graders: He's awesome. He's cute. He's fluffy. The story is cute. I liked the story. Cooper is smart. The story was enjoyable!
Charles and his older sister, Lizzie, are in elementary school. The Peterson family have a puppy named Buddy plus they foster dogs and help them find homes.
Charles' mom signs him up to be in a play and he doesn't want to do it ... but he has no choice. He is nervous and forgetting is lines. Mrs. Davis, the music director, shows up during one of the rehearsals with a rescue corgi puppy named Cooper. Charles takes to Cooper right away and Petersons foster him. The play's director notices that having Cooper near makes Charles more comfortable and he's written into the play.
Though this book is a quick read and directed at elementary-aged children, I found it entertaining. There is a learning experience and a puppy tip at the end. It is written in third person perspective and first person from Cooper's point of view. It is the thirty-fifth in the Puppy Place series, which currently has 66 books in the series, and works as a stand alone.
It's a very good book it's about a very good life story I think going to be really good for your kids the thing is it's pretty hard to read I would say ages 7 and it be easy for5th grades and up but 3rd graders would have a little struggle Like I said that writers would have a little Or things like that Except for all that think it's really good book I really Good life lesson you know It's about People that foster puppies and this cooper goes on hi This person named I forgot but On stage with him or else he'll get I'm come hi

This was pressed into my hands by my 7 year old. In summary it is great all round for kiddos, and decent for an adult co-reader.
This is a perfect book for a kinder/1st grade “advanced reader” to try independently (Technically it’s a 3rd grade reading level) or as a read aloud to a kinder transitioning into chapter books. There are 10 chapters in the book, no illustrations, a couple unusual words are defined, the story has a cute puppy and almost no tension.
A cute book with an unofficial use of a dog as an emotional support animal. My nieces and nephews all love to be involved with Theater, and they love puppies, so this is an ideal book for all of them, not matter what their age. Not sure about the new owner though.
Quick and easy read! Great plot and I loved the ending. Good book to get you out of a slump, the plot twist was crazy and the book kept me hooked from the first page to the last.
I really liked the book, Cooper. While rehearsing for a play, Charles meets Cooper, a corgi with a whole lot of personality. Charles has one of the main parts but he is stage fright. Charles only feels comfortable onstage with Cooper there with him. I think that Cooper is really important in Charles day because Copper saves the day! Thanks to Copper the play went perfectly normal.
