The werewolf suffered torture in the orphanage he ended up in, the vampire was adopted by a dragon shifter clan and was loved deeply. Now the werewolf, Dex Hunt, is part of a Para military group and he is bent on revenge. Sylvia has many issues to work through and at her side is a man who does believe in a HEA and tries his best to show her that love is a possibility.
Imposter: The Protectors Series Book One by Karen Fenech, This was a good fast paced suspense that kept you in the dark on who the bad guy was until the author chose to reveal it. Eve Collins life hasn’t gone the way she expected it to. After losing her child in an accident then her marriage imploding she also lost her job with the LAPD as a forensic specialist. She is now a chemist that makes perfumes along with her partner, Richard. What she doesn’t realize is that Richard has created a deadly chemical weapon and is selling it to the highest bidder. When he dies while driving them to a conference, Eve’s life is changed when she is accused by the CIA of being his accomplice. She is taken into custody by a CIA Operative named John Burke. John is pretty rude for the first half of the book thinking Eve is a traitor and terrorist and doesn’t believe a word she says when she tries to tell him she’s innocent. But after attempts are made on her life he realizes she has been set up and the two of them have to work together to figure out whom the real partner was.
Dark Tide Rising by Kristin Miller, An eerie murder mystery. From the opening haunting death your taken on a mysterious and at times supernatural search for the killer. Emily McAllister dreamed of her best friend’s death in a watery cave but when the police determine it’s an accidental drowning she goes to the police to try and convince them it was a murder without sounding like a crazy person. But what she gets is a straight laced police sergeant Mark Thurgood who is still haunted by the death of his partner in the same sea that took the victims life. Even though I figured out early on who the killer was it was still a great plot leading up to the ending that threw in a twist.
Big Bad Wolf by Gennita Low. Jaymee Barrow is running her father’s roofing business until she can get it out of the red out of a sense of guilt over a mistake she made eight years ago. When a stranger walks onto the job site looking for work she know’s he isn’t who he says he is but give him the job. Nick (Killian) Langley is a Covert operative who’s hiding out after someone tried to kill him. As he doesn’t know who to trust and has no money he decides to find some labor work for a couple months so he can find out who put a hit out on him. Little disjointed at times maybe because it was an earlier work from the author.
Found Wanting by Joyce Lamb Found Wanting by Joyce Lamb. This was a completely engrossing suspense from start to finish. Alaina Chancellor has been running from the man who fathered her child 14 years ago. As the book starts she finds out the FBI has found her and she makes a run for it to get to her son and get away. What she doesn’t know is a man, Mitch Lane, which her son’s father hired has been watching her for weeks and has every intention of taking the boy back to him. Insert craziness from here on. She is hit by a car, her son is taken, Mitch takes her into custody not believing her lies when she tried to tell him his employer is not who he thinks he is. As the story progresses we find out the truth and the amount of betrayal by so many people is staggering. Mitch’s character goes through quite the transformation from who he was in the beginning as he is a very bitter and emotionally shut off man due to betrayals of his own. Really liked this one..
High Tide by Maureen A. Miller. The visuals the author gives during the course of this book of Oahu - Hawaii are nothing short of stunning. From the moment the two main characters meet on the beach you are swept away. There is so much more than just the beautiful location. Even though Nick and Briana meet as strangers on the beach and are instantly attracted to each other once they find out who the other is that’s nipped in the bud. Nick McCord is a U.S. Geological Survey expert and he is on that beach because strange things have been happening off the coast and he concludes that it has to do with the developer of a new housing development being built right off the shoreline. Briana Holt is the lead contractor for the new development called Manale Palms. She works hard to make it in a position that many women don’t hold and she isn’t going to let some guy even if he’s sexy as all get out from the USGS threaten her project. The attraction between these two even though they are on opposite side in the beginning was powerful – even as a reader you could feel the heat between these two. Both being stubborn continue to try to find out what is causing all the anomalies which ends up putting them in danger. This book just flowed from beginning to end – stunning location, hot romance, lots of peril and great secondary characters. Highly recommend it.
I'LL BE WATCHING YOU ***** First time reading this author and I loved it. Kim returns to her hometown after her grandmother dies. Zell owns a gator farm and his father was married to Kim's mother at one time. Ten years ago Kim accused Zell's father of murder but he was acquitted. Now she back to run her grandma's bar but someone wants her gone. When she starts digging into the past a lot of bad things start to happen to her. This kept me on the edge of my seat with suspense and sexual tension. Zell is a laid back guy and Kim is afraid to give anyone her heart. Both have walls around their heart and are scared to let anyone in. _______________________________________________ BEDEVILED ***** Maggie is an artist who when she goes to return some of her ex boyfriend's belongings, find a demon eating him. She defeats the demon and her magic is transferred to Maggie. Culhane is a warrior faery who has been watching Maggie since she was born. He tells her she is to defeat the Faery Queen and become the Queen of faeries. As she trains for the fight of her life, other demons try to take her faery magic. I loved all the characters..Maggie was spunky, Culhane was the strong silent type, and Eileen (Maggie's niece) was hilarious. First time reading this author and I really enjoyed the book. _________________________________________________ PROTECTIVE CUSTODY ***** There's a cop, a reporter, sex, suspense and a stalker. I truly enjoyed this story. Paisley is a reporter who has a stalker. Gray is an inspector her father, the chief of police, assigns to stay with her. They try to fight their attraction but finally give in to it. *****SPOILER****** One part the stalker has Paisley in the warehouse and Gray comes in... he tells the stalker they can make this right and he says " bullshit I'm a cop I know how this works." He shoots Gray and then he turns the gun on Paisley and Gray raises up & shoots him. I'm thinking since he was a cop he should have expected him to be wearing a bulletproof vest!
I really did like this book. So pick it up and enjoy. ________________________________________________ THERE'S A NEW WITCH IN TOWN ***** Miki is a witch who gave up her powers to live a mortal life with her husband. After seven years he asks for a divorce. She goes to Rossdale, Idaho to recoup and find her self. Gideon is a contractor who wants to be Mayor of his town but because his ex-wife, a witch also, threatened him to never run or she would ruin the town. As Miki gets her powers back, she falls in love with Gideon. But can he accept her as a witch or will he throw it away? ________________________________________________ IN HIS CONTROL **** Ceira is a thief living in Paris. Jean-Marc is the cop after her. They meet at a club where she is stealing a diamond bracelet off a princess while she's dancing with him. As he hunts the thief known as the Ghost, he doesn't realize it's her. She is doing the jobs for five orphans that she takes care of so they can have a better life. She has one large heist to pull off to pay a dirty cop who is threatening one of the orphans, to finally retire. I really liked this book except a lot of the words were in French and I had to keep looking to see what they meant. __________________________________________________ CHOSEN BY SIN ***** Dex is a FBI agent who is part wolf and part vampire. Jes is a scientist trying to find a formula for immortality. Dex is the key to it and she will do anything to figure it out. When she gets pregnant after having many miscarriages, she convinces Dex the only way the baby will survive is for him to stay close. But when he learns of all the ways she has deceived him, leaves and goes back to the states. He is the one person that can keep the demons in hell. When he finally realizes Jes is the only woman he will ever love he might be too late. Awesome story with wolves, vampires, mage, and dragons. Hot, steamy love scenes and edge of your seat story. _________________________________________________ TO CATCH HER MAN *** Sylvia is a reporter. Carlos was an undercover cop who was shot protecting Sylvia. When a man comes to her work claiming Carlos and his partner Riley are crooked. He also claims they killed his brother, also a former cop. Sylvia has commitment issues and doesn't believe in happily ever after. When she starts investigating the shooting, she doesn't know if Carlos is a bad guy or good guy. Ok here's the thing....she thought he was guilty then innocent. She wanted him then she didn't. It went back and forth until I would have told her to take a hike. I really didn't care for Sylvia. It is also told mostly in Sylvia's point of view. Carlos side was maybe a total of a couple of pages. I like both pov's. But if you don't mind these things, then you'll like this story. But it was well written. __________________________________________________ IMPOSTER ***** Eve is a chemist going to a conference with her partner Richard. When they wreck another car pulls up and informs Eve she is being charged for terrorism. Burke is a secret CIA agent tasked to stop chemical terrorism. Eve is implicated along with her partner who dies in the wreck . When two attempts to kill Eve fail, Burke takes her into hiding until they figure out who Richard's partner is. I read the reviews and there were several negative one. I almost didn't read it but once I started I couldn't stop. I really enjoyed it. There's a super secret agent, a forensic cop turned chemist, and of course bad guys. ______________________________________________ DARK TIDE RISING ***** Emily has a vision of her best friend dying. When she hears the report on the news about it being an accidental drowning, she goes to the police. Mark is a sergeant who doesn't believe her at first. But when calls and messages began, he knows he must investigate. When Emily sees her own death, they'll do anything to keep it from happening. Mark is a broken man who is terrified of the sea. Emily has only her aunt and uncle and believes happily ever afters aren't for her. But they both learn to lean on each other. This was a great story. I did figure it out at the first but be surprised at the end. Love, murder, and mystery. ______________________________________________ BIG BAD WOLF **** Jaymee owns a roofing company and Nick is a member of a secret covert agent. They both have secrets. While hiding out Nick tries to find out who blew his boat up. Jaymee is paying off a debt to her father, because of an ex who conned them out if money. I'd read this a long time ago. You have an Alpha male, a petite firecracker, and bad guys. ____________________________________________ FOUND WANTING ***** Alaina has been on the run for 14 years with her son. Mitch is the detective sent to find her and bring her to her brother in law Layton. Layton raped her when she was 18 and convinced her family she seduced him. Now Layton has kidnapped her son and the FBI, Mitch, and thugs are hunting her. But when Mitch realizes that Alaina is not the person Layton made her out to be, he falls for her. He must protect her and help her get her son back. I LOVED this story!!! It had been from beginning to the end. ________________________________________________ HIGH TIDE ***** Bree is a land contractor building a cul de sac. Nick is a geologist who thinks Bree's construction was causing tides and dead fish to come up on shore. But when they find explosives on a boat, they must save themselves and stop them for destroying the ocean. Great story. A couple of the words confused me where it takes place in Hawaii. Good strong characters and excellent story line.
"I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads."
This boxed set is so full of goodness that if it were an actual book I would be doing my daily work out just lifting it to read!
Twelve great authors have got together to give us a real treat when it comes to suspenseful romance. I will post updates as I finish each story, but want to recommend it now, so you do not miss out.
Protective Custody - Paige Tyler
Well written story about cop's daughter with a stalker, and the inspector detailed to look after her. Clever plot, steamy romance and desired ending - perfect escapism.
High Tide - Maureen A Miller
This action packed mystery based in Hawaii is both steamy hot, and plot rich. There are some clever twists and definitely the hands off policy fails in the end - just as we knew it should! If you like a proper story to surround the romance, then this will definitely fit the bill.
Dangerous Dozen is a great boxed set that features 12 romantic suspense stories. I am totally falling in love with boxed sets. So many goods one have come out lately and Dangerous Dozen is definitely a great set.
So many great stories, I don't know where to start. I will say there is definitely a little bit of everything in this boxed set...mystery, paranormal, hot cops, suspense....I am partial to hot cops so I really enjoyed Paige Tyler's Protective Custody. My second favorite was There's A New Witch in Town by Tawny Weber, loved it. I actually enjoyed all the stories so it was hard to pick favorites. This set is definitely a keeper, highly recommend!!!
Romantic Suspense is a new genre for me, and this was just the book set to sink into for one thrilling ride after another. I loved it!! It was a mix up of all different levels of suspense and types of stories and ALL the plot lines were amazing!! I'll give a little teaser about what I liked from each story!!
To Catch Her Man by Charity Pineiro: This one was a great read. I love those females who don't believe in finding the one because well...to me they are relatable. It makes the story so much better if they are proven wrong. This story's moral struggle is amazing. It just goes to show you sometimes finding out the truth puts you in a worse position!
I'll Be Watching You by Tina Wainscott This one was completely heart-wrenching. You just feel for Kim throughout this whole story. This is one of those you should always do whats right even if the consequences are harsh. It was a good story with an even better mystery twist.
Bedeviled by Maureen Child, USA Today Bestselling Author LOL...this one was a lot on the funny end, which made the story more believable. I could actually see this happening to me and re-acting similar!!!
Protective Custody by Paige Tyler, USA Today Bestselling Author This one was definitely the hotter side of suspense!! Wooooooohoo! Lots of action, in and out of the sheets. This is a hot little quickie and on the cop fantasy side...and totally yummy!
There's A New Witch in Town by Tawny Weber, USA Today Bestselling Author This one was incredibly cute and laugh out loud funny. Divorced and looking to start over, I swear she picked the grumpiest town in the world to re-locate to! But with the help of her family, a HOT contractor, and a little buried magic this witch totally rocks her way through this towns secrets....and finds closure and true love!!
In His Control by Nina Bruhns This one is for the girls that love a completely dominate man!! I'm not sure I could forgive him for his role (even if he is a cop and she is a thief) but our main character finds him irresistible!! This is very hot and very intriguing!!
Chosen By Sin by Virna DePaul This one was had an intricate paranormal plot, with a vast array of interesting characters. I enjoyed this book and would love to read the entire series (if there is one?) The mythology was great as were the dynamics.
Imposter: The Protectors Series -- Book One by Karen Fenech This one was a suspenseful action-packed book! You have the wrongly accused, the cop hell-bent on taking her in, and an inappropriate attraction!! It was a good fast-paced and hot read!!
Dark Tide Rising by Kristin Miller, National Bestselling Author. This one was big on the creepy factor. lol. We have a serial killer stalking a small town in the mind of its soon to be victim...but it is only in her mind? This one was good and definitely keeps you second guessing as to what is really going on.
Big Bad Wolf by Gennita Low This one is not a paranormal....but it does have some hot military action in it!!! The mystery is all around who is after the Big Bad Wolf...but while he is on the run, he manages to patch up a family that needed some shaking up and fall in love.
Found Wanting by Joyce Lamb. On the run from her sisters husband, she has given all to protect her son. She dodges him and tries to stay ahead, but a PI catches her in the end. Big surprise that she was painted out to be the bad guy. The PI is hard set against her and incredibly attracted to her. Can she prove her innocence and save her son before its to late?
High Tide by Maureen A. Miller. We end this book of edge-of-seaters in beautiful Hawaii. There is always something lurking in the shadows when it comes to treasure, and our main characters have A LOT of trust issues to get over. It ends sweetly and a great wrap-up to a great set of stories!!
I hope you give these lovely ladies a look, because this set of books turned me on to romantic suspense!! Excellent job and excellent stories!!!
Ok, on the first page of each book you learn who will fall for whom. O course in the beginning they don't want to because they are on the other side of the law or they don't trust each other or they generally fear relationships. Nearly all of the heroes have a problematic past, psychological issues, feelings of guilt - but the power of love (or sex) heals all their wounds. Besides there's allways developing a more or less suspenseful story. Be sure he will come to rescue her. I've only read 9 of the 12 books (just don't like man-eating demons, witchesoand vampires) and found some surprisingly good.
1.I'll be watching you by Tina Wainscott – 2 Stars If you like descriptions of Florida's flora and fauna you will love this book. The story is quite nice but developing too slowly.
2. Bedeviled by Maureen Child – not read (Man-eating demons)
3. Protective Custody by Paige Tyler – 1 Star The predictable story without suspense is just an alibi for uncountable sex scenes with a touch of sado-maso repeating always the same expressions.
4: There's a new witch in town by Tawny Weber – not read
5. In his control by Nina Bruhns – 4 Stars After all I had seen so far in this compilation I really didn't expect to find such a book in here: In his control by Nina Bruhns is full of sexual directness embedded in a suspensefull crime story with deep characters. I really enjoyed this one!
6: Chosen by sin by Virna de Paul – not read (vampires and werewolves)
7. To catch her man by Charity Pineiro – 3 stars was quite nice but not overwhelming.
8. Imposter by Karen Fenech – 3 stars is a nice read but nothing special
9. Dark tide rising by Kristin Miller – 3 stars isn't very surprising but the description of the ocean as a living creature is quite interesting.
10. Big Bad Wolf by Gennita Wolf - 4 stars> is a credible love story between two quick-witty and humorous persons where sex is really making love and described in wonderful details without ever getting smutty. In the first half you just feel danger coming but you don't know when where or why.
11. Found Wanting by Joyce Lamb – 4 stars is a very gripping fast moving story filled with action and suspense - and the love story of two interting broken but strong characters.
12. High tide by Maureen A. Miller – 3 stars A very quick entertaining read
So many books, so little time ! Yes, 12 full-length books by 12 fantastic authors. Can you afford to bypass this one ? No, you can't ! So far, I have read only Tawny Weber's There's A New Witch in Town. And wow ! Are you in for a treat !
Can Tawny Weber pull off small-town and paranormal as well as red-hot sexy reads? You bet she does!
This is a departure for Ms. Weber, this novel being a paranormal romance, and much longer than what we’re used from the author: it’s over 350 pages, and none of those pages are filler. Miki, Mikaela Lansing, a California girl, moves to small-town Rossdale after a messy divorce leaves her almost destitute. The villagers don’t take well to newcomers and she’s no exception. The town is going to the dogs and the inhabitants have come to see newcomers as threats, and they have good reason to feel that way. Miki has it rough until she strikes a friendship with Gideon Ross, which does not go over very well with the villagers, and especially Gideon’s mother, since he’s divorced from a California girl. Witchcraft is the basis for the story, not just and added element to make it paranormal. The world-building is excellent, the characters are well-defined and complex, and the story is strong; nothing is as black and white as it first appears. Aside from the witchcraft, this book is also a light romantic suspense; it makes for a very satisfying read, as well as a very amusing one, at times. This book will appeal to fans of paranormal and non-fans alike, because although witchcraft is an integral part of the story, it’s not so out there that non-paranormal romance readers will be put off. Can we hope this is the first installment of a new series, because Ryan – Mikaela’s brother – at least, deserves his own story, in my opinion.
This review is for To Catch Her Man by Charity Pinero & Chosen by Sin by Virna DePaul
5 Stars - To Catch Her Man by Charity Pinero
Investigative reporter Sylvia Amenabar doesn't believe in 'happy ever after' but after the man she cares about undercover detective Carlos Ramirez is injured saving her life Sylvia must decide if she is will to let her fear of commitment drive him away. As the two become closer Sylvia is will suddenly be given a case that will raise questions about Carlos's past and she knows if she chooses to do the story it could very well cost her everything. Can Sylvia follow her heart and still investigate her story truthfully or will she choose to follow her head and risk everything. To Catch Her Man by Charity Pinero is a fabulous story and one I know all lover of romance will thoroughly enjoy.
5 Stars - Chosen by Sin by Virna DePaul
Dex Hunt is part of the Para-Ops team, but his driving purpose is to kill the werewolf leader he blames for his mother’s death. Dex builds walls and keeps everyone at a distance including the mysterious Jesmina Martin he met in L.A. Jesmina Martin is desperate to prolong the life of her adopted shifter family that saved her as a child and she believes Dex is the answer. One night together is about to change both of their lives but can Dex and Jesmina give up their secrets or will the consequences be too much and cost them everything. Chosen by Sin is part of the Para Ops series by Virna DePaul. You will quickly find yourself pulled within its pages and engrossed in the storyline and characters.
To Catch Her Man by Charity Pineiro Sylvia Amenabar doesn't trust men. She grew up without a father and has commitment issues. When she meets Carlos Ramirez, her life is turned upside down. She is attracted. He is an undercover cop and her hero. He is shot protecting her when there is a shoot-out with a local drug lord. Now he is recovering and Sylvia offers to let him stay with her. Can she let him into her life? Now there is another complication. An informant says that Carlos is "dirty" along with his partner, Riley. They set up another officer who was killed. Can she be objective? Does her job as an investigative reporter mean more to her than Carlos? To Catch Her Man is a fast-paced and emotional story. Sylvia and Carlos are a dynamite couple. Their relationship is complex and very sensual. These two strong willed people are a perfect match. They are charming, gutsy and determined. The story is skillfully plotted and steamy Miami adds atmosphere. The secondary characters are old friends from Tori Got Lucky. It's nice to see them again. Sylvia's friends add so much to the story. Also it was interesting to learn more about Sylvia's parents. It explained her fear of love. To Catch Her Man was a very satisfying story. I love it. I never miss any books by Charity/Caridad Pineiro. All twelve books in The Dangerous Dozen are great. This is a treasure trove for the romantic suspense lover.
Although I'm chomping at the bit to read the rest of the books in this box set, I couldn't resist writing a review for HIGH TIDE by Maureen A Miller.
Working in the heat and tropical beauty of Hawaii, Brianna Holt is a general contractor building an oceanfront housing development for natives. She loves the sea, is drawn to it, but the violent death of her parents has left her terrified of it as well. Nick McCord is a marine geologist who wants to blame Brianna's development for disturbing the nearby coral reef and ocean tides - it's for sure its builder is disturbing him.
But Brianna's done everything within the law, so what in the world is going on? Because it's the sea is definitely disrupted. And dangerous.
With her lush prose and vivid descriptions, Maureen A. Miller never fails to delight, and HIGH TIDE is certainly no exception. I thoroughly enjoyed the escalating sexual tension between the protagonists as they work together to solve the marine mystery while struggling to overcome issues from their past lives. As I always find with Ms. Miller's work, the secondary characters were also well-drawn and wonderful.
The box set itself is incredibly large and I'm looking forward to good reading for days to come. My only complaint is that there isn't a table of contents. Since there is so much material, that is really a necessity. But I'm sure that small annoyance won't take away from the enjoyment!
I have only read one book from the Dangerous Dozen box set so far, and that was Maureen A. Miller's HIGH TIDE. If the other books are this good I can't wait to read them!
Review for HIGH TIDE:
Maureen's books are all so different, but you can be sure you receive the same great writing. She rocks the descriptions in her books so that you feel as though you are in the story. You feel the ocean air, you feel the temperature changes. Maureen also transfers this to the characters and their emotions. You feel what her characters feel. What I really love about this book (and her other ones as well) is the dialogue between the characters. For me, that is what moves the story so well. Nick and Briana are one hot couple who both have strong personalities. HIGH TIDE has just the right amount of suspense and romance for the story. The suspense keeps you engaged and wanting more and the romance was sexy yet respectful and lovely. If you like romantic suspense, I recommend you give HIGH TIDE and the Dangerous Dozen boxed set a try! I look forward to reading more stories in it!
This review is for Tawny Weber's There's a New Witch in Town.
This isn't a normal Tawny Weber book, and I loved it! Instead of a story about Seals, this is an emotional and entertaining story about Miki Lansing, a witch who's powers have gone haywire because she puts a curse on her soon to be ex-husband. To get away, she decides to move to her ex-husband's rental house in another state, which is now her's. Once there, she finds the house is dilapitated and needs major repairs. The small town was blessed by a witch many years before, saying that faith, peace, and love will be found in this town. The only problem is that the town is plagued with problems and the townspeople are not nice to her except for one person. That person is Gideon Ross, who is a geat-grandson, grandson, and son of Rossville's former town mayors. Gideon is also a contractor who is divorced and attracted to Miki...
Please go with Miki on her journey to regain her powers, peace of mind, self confidence, and find love. You definitely won't be disappointed!
Suspense, murder, mystery, and romance can all be found between the covers of this anthology. What makes it even better, is it's not just contemporary stories here. There are a couple of paranormal stories for good measure.
The heroines were haunted by their pasts, running from an unseen enemy, struggling to make it alive just one more day, but refusing to cower in complete darkness. The heroes are strong men, willing to take on the burden their women carry, unwilling to lose them before having the chance to fully claim them. The attraction is nothing compared to the devotion between each person in each couple. Or, maybe, it's what enhances that attraction. It's the one ingredient that makes a passing fancy into a sizzling affair and morphs it into a love that's undeniable and unconditional.
It's a collection of stories worth reading, and a collection of stories worth having.
***Received from Edelweiss via Tasty Book Tours for an honest review***
I've only read There's New Witch in Town, but once the boxed is released I do a review based on all the books.
My review for There's a New Witch in Town : Tawny can do paranormal. I highly enjoyed this book. Once I started it was hard to put down. I loved the legend behind the town of Rossdale. They are a small town and they have the busy bodies that come along with it. Miki has to get away to try to control her powers and Rossdale is the place. But with the towns people giving her the most unsavory welcome and the chemistry she has with Gideon it's going to be an interesting stay. Throw in a curse and an evil witch things are going to get really interesting. Can Miki and the town save Rossdale?
I enjoyed each one of these books. They all have a little mystery and romance. it was the perfect balance. looking forward to reading more from each of the authors. My favorite was from Dark Tide Rising by Kristin Miller, it was a perfect murder mystery. I also loved In His Control by Nina Bruins, it had one of the best cat and mouse games I've read. Her alpha male is one of my favorites I've read about. The twist at the end was awesome and I didn't see it coming. definitely recommend this book.
Loved this book!! Miki is a witch who denounced her powers to marry a mortal. With her divorce, her powers return. Oh what a curse for the ex (hehe). Moving to Idaho, she is trying with the help of her family to control her powers, and find her calling. In comes Gideon to be her contractor and wow what sparks. Gideon instantly knows something is different about Miki. Being that his ex is a witch though, he has no idea that Miki is one also. Magic is deeply rooted in this town and with finally accepting who she, and being accepted for what she is, Miki just might find her true happiness!
If you enjoy reading Magical Cures series by Tonya Kappes, you will love Anew Witch In Town by Tawny Weber.
I have enjoyed reading Tawny Weber's Uniformly Hot series and when I saw A New Witch in Town in the box set Dangerous Dozen: 12 Sexy Heroes To Die For Romantic Suspense I decided to read it first and I loved it! I would give it a ten star rating, it was that good.
Thanks Tawny Weber for another great book.
I received an eBook copy for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.
I have only read There's a New Witch in Town from this boxed set.
This is a different kind of book for Tawny, but I loved it. I hope we will hear more from Miki and Gideon. Miki gave up her magic once and it didn't work. Gideon tried to embrace magic before and it didn't work. Once they embraced each other, it worked. Good story.
I have not read all of the stories in the set yet.
Tawny Weber's There's a New Witch in Town: I loved the banter between Miki and Gideon. It was so much fun to read. And oh, the humor in this book...I absolutely loved it! I can't count the times I laughed out loud because it was so funny! The storyline was very interesting as well. A must read!
I loved each and everyone of the well written stories. Most of the authors I have never heard of and bought it because I like Charity Pineiro. You will not be disappointed in any of the stories. I have been writing reviews for each of the books in the set.
I have finally completed all 12 books in this set, I only found 1 I thought was so-so. All the rest were great reads! Each was full of suspense, drama and love. I recommend this set to all who love those attributes in books. :)
I had a love/hate with this box set. It was nice getting 12 full length books and finding new authors to read. Some of the story's I loved and couldn't put down. Others I skipped through after reading about half of the story. Over all, I was happy with this purchase.
Loved 11 of the 12 books, one I just couldn't get into! In all I will be looking for books by these authors to read in the future!! Love these boxed sets to introduce me to new authors.
