Interesting, but... where is Saitama? I miss him, and honestly, I want to know how this battle ends (if there is an end😀).

I can’t do this anymore. I’m sick of this manga. One Punch Man started so amazingly, it was a fun enjoyable and even thought provoking at times manga, but now it’s turned into the thing it was parading. It started out as a fun story about Saitama a man that chose to be a hero for fun and became the strongest out of anyone just because he worked hard. It wasn’t the fact that he could beat anything with one punch that made it interesting, it was his character. Now Saitama is merely just a mascot for the series. Now it’s been every other character (and the only ones I really care about are Genos and Zombieman) fighting the boring ass monster association for now more than half the series. What are we doing? The monster association’s leaders have been defeated already now they’re just fighting sperm cells and homeless men. I did not make that up. Seriously what are we doing here? I’m dropping this series for the foreseeable future.

STATUS REPORT:

I remain bound against my better judgement to finish the never ending fight against the manga series One Punch Man.

The endless battle against the monster association continues to live up to its name. At this stage, it feels impossible to foresee how the POWs and THWUNKs and KTHOOMs will end. The obvious answer is Saitama, but he remains AWOL, his only appearance a trifle bonus chapter at the very end. Spring Mustachio has returned after his last appearance back at the series’ beginning. He has reawakened old memories of the before times - of the age before this interminable battle arc. It’s hard to believe those times were real. My thoughts are now consumed by ever-respawning villains, and heroes making personal advances only to falter yet again. Will those glorious times return. Who can say? Me. I can say. And the answer. Is no.

I am tired. And yet, I will see you again next time.

I’m all caught up. I did really love many aspects of this manga but so much of it was just dragging a bit. When saitama was there it really built up but he also didn’t keep the manga going cuz I loved some of the side characters, but some of these stories just aren’t very interesting.
Right now this Blast story with the ninjas just doesn’t grab my attention whatsoever.

It’s criminal how long I have to wait for these volumes, considering how quickly I go through them. One Punch Man still scratches the itch of well executed power scaling for me. I hope Bang can pull through!!!

While I was not pleased with the last volume once we get going here I was entertained. We get some decent dialog even from the bad guys. I thought Garo was going to save the kid not fight his old teacher.

I guess no matter how you try a popular story that equally shows love for and flaws of Superhero comics / manga is going to become that very thing mocked if given enough time.

At this point in the series I'm hoping the stakes become more enticing. Otherwise, what is left to tell?

3.5. Some good moments and great panels, but still has the same issues as the rest of this arc's volumes

Hmm. Volume 30 is a tense affair, bringing us some truly monstrous foes and higher stakes yet again. But oh, patience is required on this volume! ONE and Murata have clearly decided to test my resolve, artfully withholding Saitama from the action. It's understandable, of course; once our hero arrives, all the tension vanishes faster than a bowl of crisps at a watch party. He’d probably just stroll in and politely one-punch every monster into oblivion. Still, it's dreadfully frustrating being teased like this.

The brief glimpses into Bang’s past are a delightful seasoning sprinkled lightly over the action, adding a touch of warmth to the otherwise chaotic melee. Genos, however, remains steadfastly dedicated to donating bits of himself in every battle. I like how he protected Tornado but at this point, one does start to worry he'll soon run out of spare parts.

King though. Marvelous, quietly terrified King. Watching him muster up the courage to bravely draw every villainous eye toward himself is genuinely heartening.

Now, if someone could kindly find Saitama before my patience evaporates completely, I'd be most grateful.

Every single volume is a treat! When this series comes to an end, I will surely miss it but One (writer) and Yusuke Murata (Artist) perfectly craft this series that is ALWAYS (yes, I said it) ALWAYS pleasing to the senses! The cover is on point and beautiful. The battles are beyond awesome! It is to be praised and while my biggest drawback is that the next volume is a far ways off, you get a real sense of awe in each and every volume. The series could go on and on (in my opinion) but I am starting to feel as if we are winding down and getting to some closure, which kind of makes me sad...but I feel we have at least 10 more volumes to go! The final page in chapter 154 is one of my favorites from this book! The last few pages of this volume had me laughing hard too. What makes this so good is the intensity of the action, the drop-dead hilarious scenes and the characters. When you are hitting on all these cylinders…you have the making of an immediate classic manga book! (Or any type of book for that matter.)

I’m aligned with many other readers on this one: while the action in Volume 30 is undeniably impressive—and seeing Silver Fang unleashed in his full form is genuinely exhilarating—the lingering question remains impossible to ignore: Where is Saitama?

There’s a reason this series is called One‑Punch Man, and yet it feels like ages since he’s had meaningful panel time. The supporting cast is doing heavy lifting, the battles are intense, and the artwork continues to stun, but the absence of Saitama leaves a noticeable void. The story is inching forward, but without its core gravitational force, the momentum feels slightly off-balance.
That said, I’m far too invested in the world and its characters to put the series down now.

My demand—shared by many fans—is simple and unchanged:
Bring back Saitama.

This series has drifted so far from its initial premise that I almost want to judge it as a new and totally unrelated thing (but I won't). Saitama, the ostensible main character of One Punch Man does not appear in the story at all this volume. The single fight with the Monster Association - all taking place on the same day - has been going on for almost half of the thirty volumes now, making this feel like Dragon Ball Z only with more characters and that is absolutely not a compliment.

I just want to read a story about a guy who's so powerful that he easily defeats every opponent and suffers crippling ennui because of it, because that is what One Punch Man is supposed to be. Why am I stuck with all of this stupid generic superhero garbage instead?

Lol this volume doesn’t even have Saitama in it, like at all. He only appears in a little 5 page epilogue joke comic where he reads a magazine that King did an interview for. Hilarious stuff, I’m still not tired of the “everyone thinks King can do exactly what Saitama actually does,” joke.
As for the rest of the volume, it’s truly fantastic stuff. I really love the cadre of Monster Association villains, especially Homeless Emperor and Black Sperm (or “Black Spermatozoon,” in the English translation). I read this online with fan translations as it was first coming out, but now that it’s officially released physical English volume is out and available at the Tulsa library, I’m more than happy to read it again.

It feels weird to give this manga 4 stars again, it's been a long time. But this volume was really good! And it didn't even have Saitama! It really helps that we're following a consistent cast of characters now, one that we recognize. I really enjoy seeing how they come together. I enjoyed Bang's backstory, he's one of the better characters. This volume also starts getting incredibly gruesome, more so than before. Amai Mask literally gets ripped in half, his guts falling out (in silhouette).

I still don't quite understand Garo or what he's become, other than way overpowered just because. I still miss the crux of what made the early volumes great. But despite my misgivings, this volume was excellent.

3.5⭐️
We enter Bang's past and discover he was a punk who then decided to teach the positive side of fighting and have his own students. Garo brings all his darkness into the volume which continues to be on par with a horror for some choices/drawings. Tornado and Genos continue to fight shoulder to shoulder and hint at a love interest. King catches the eye of all the bad guys hoping that Saitama will arrive to save the day. Saitama is nowhere to be seen... when the hell will he arrive? My patience is wearing thin…

This was a rough volume for the heroes, with several of the swordsmen getting tragically one-shotted with acid and literally dissolving. I’m really hoping this fight ends soon because it has been dragging out way too long. The monsters are ridiculously powerful and endless at this point. I assume it’s a set up to make Saitama’s reappearance and rescue much more impactful, but it’s really a slog right now.

3 stars.

The action sequences are still drawn beautifully. Genuinely stunning art. I am still not super invested in this arc and think its gone on longer than it should. I wish we got to see Saitama, other than the little snippet of him in the bonus chapter. I'm excited to see King face off with the villains though. I hope we get some cool moments for him.

Los héroes siguen peleando con los integrantes de la asociación de monstruos que han sobrevivido, pero parece que sus esfuerzos no son suficientes.

Es el momento de que alumno y discípulo se enfrenten.

Ya que salga Saitama!!
