Robert Kirkman is an American comic book writer best known for his work on The Walking Dead, Invincible for Image Comics, as well as Ultimate X-Men and Marvel Zombies for Marvel Comics. He has also collaborated with Image Comics co-founder Todd McFarlane on the series Haunt. He is one of the five partners of Image Comics, and the only one of the five who was not one of the original co-founders of that publisher.

Robert Kirkman's first comic books were self-published under his own Funk-o-Tron label. Along with childhood friend Tony Moore, Kirkman created Battle Pope which was published in late 2001. Battle Pope ran for over 2 years along with other Funk-o-Tron published books such as InkPunks and Double Take.

In July of 2002, Robert's first work for another company began, with a 4-part SuperPatriot series for Image, along with Battle Pope backup story artist Cory Walker. Robert's creator-owned projects followed shortly thereafter, including Tech Jacket, Invincible and Walking Dead.

EN As I mentioned in my previous review, with each new volume I find myself increasingly engrossed in this series. We have already had some very strong chapters, but those collected in this volume — if they are not the best so far — are certainly among the strongest.

The fight against the Serpent Society unfolds alongside events beyond Earth, where part of our heroes are trying to prevent a new threat from reaching the planet. At the same time, Mark continues to struggle with his feelings and the uncertainty surrounding the future of his romantic relationship. The result is an absolutely explosive volume, packed with action and new developments.

I particularly appreciate the brutality of some scenes: here, superheroes are anything but cute or idealised.

A series that feels as though it keeps getting better with every new volume.

More superb graphic storytelling with Mark (Invincible) leading a host of superheroes to Mars to deal with the Sequid invasion.

It's remarkable how few (that is to no) missteps Invincible's creatives had made this far into9 the series.

Once again brilliant story! But in the end I was confused. It felt like some panels or even a page would have been missing. I tried to look but no page was ripped off. Somehow… like there was something missing because I couldn’t understand certain things at all. Strange...

In my opinion, this is where Invincible starts to pick up and never goes back. Just banger after banger chapters with high stakes incorporated. I need to read the entire series! Good thing I just snagged the 2nd and 3rd compendium...

Reading the comics more and more helps me appreciate how much the show improves certain characters. Dupli-Fraud and Fraudmortal are still bums though 💔
