With an alcoholic father and a hole in her wallet, Danielle Pryer’s life in the rustic town of Bleakwood goes from bad to worse when her long-lost brother, Bruce, returns from the Vietnam War. The story starts off with a quick introduction to our main character and jumps right into a hot mess.

You got your defiant female lead character that just can’t back away from a personal challenge. You have the 1980s version of the scream queen. You get a grown white man who ends up a coward. On top of all that, you get a heroic team who can’t get their shit together.

Not to mention, the artwork is awesome! Lots of meaty, red gore! The storyline is a riot! Hilarious one-liners for those of us that crave a good quote: “So why don’t you make like a chicken and shut the cluck up!” That is just one of so many that’ll have you laughing out loud.

I highly recommend this awesome graphic novel. You’ll be hooked!
