Dusty switches places with a pampered look-alike raccoon in this second entry in the hilarious middle grade graphic novel series about a sneaky raccoon family who live life in the trash lane from Stephanie Cooke and Whitney Gardner!
The Bins siblings have their sights set on the big pet expo in the heart of downtown Toronto. Dusty, Scraps, and ReRe expect to loot the convention for the latest treats, and they definitely don’t expect to meet…Dusty’s doppelganger?!
Prince the Raccoon is everything Dusty isn’t—famous, pampered, and rich! But Prince wants to know what life is like outside his comfy digs and on the streets. So, with the Bins’ help, Dusty and Prince decide to switch places.
At first, Dusty has a great time living it up, but he soon learns the grass isn’t always greener on the other side…even when that side has all the snacks he can eat!

The Racc Pack is such a fun and entertaining comic book. I enjoyed every minute even if the book is for early readers.
The comic book is available as a hardcover and is the second book in the Racc Pack series. The story is divided into chapters to give it a grown up feel for the young ones. But it still has the comic book quality of illustrations that make it a delight to read.
Not only is The Racc Pack an amusing read, it also contains a teaching moment. A life lesson that "the grass isn't always greener on the other side." Five stars.
I received a physical finished copy of he book from Simon & Schuster. This review is completely my own and reflects my honest thoughts and opinions.
I like how the three raccoons dress up as a person and everyone thinks he’s a person, and then they become friends. And then the friend’s name is Prince and he has a pet fish and the Prince always finds an escape. And the three raccoons made things that flying squirrels have so they can fly.
I wouldn't think you could successfully pull off a prince and the pauper storyline with raccoons, but I was wrong and this book is hilarious. Of COURSE one raccoon is a social media influencer. Of COURSE the other raccoon is just in it for the food. This is a read that will have your kid (and you) laughing out loud.
A great addition to the Racc Pack series! Once again the Toronto setting was so much fun to read about! The humour and puns were on point, and I was constantly smiling while reading, There were also a lot of great pop culture references. It was great to see Dusty, ReRe, and Scraps again and read about their hijinks. The idea of a pet raccoon social media influencer was intriguing and it was a great play on the classic prince and the pauper story. Dusty and Prince decided to switch lives to learn more about each other's lives but they quickly realize how much they love and appreciate their own. Like book one, the illustrations were detailed and engaging and lovely to look at. The ending left an opening for another book in the series which I'm excited to read! This is a great read for graphic novel lovers of all ages, especially Torontonians! I mean, who wouldn't be excited to read a story about raccoons? (And maybe an opossum 🤫)

The first Racc Pack book was adorable and I love it. I recommend it to kids regularly, and have also used it as a book club choice at local schools. When I told the kids a second one was coming out, they were excited!
The Bins family continues their adventures - this time heading to the PetExpo. On their visit, they meet Prince - a raccoon online influencer who looks a lot like Dusty. Prince and Dusty switch places and at first all is fun, but are different lives all they're cracked up to be?
Just like in the first book, the artwork is colorful and helps move the story along. There are plenty of funny moments, along with some serious ones. This is definitely a kid approved series. Can't wait for the next one!
I liked this one better than the first Racc Pack book. This felt like a more complete story that was more familiar and kid friendly than learning weirdly about gentrification via raccoons...
The art is cute and quirky with memorable characters. It's also unapologetically Toronto - CN Tower, Metro Convention centre, Ikea monkey, Bonnie and Clyde the capybaras... I don't know if the kids will get those references... But I appreciated them!
The Racc Pack sees a Princely Racoon getting treated special and living an easy life so they devise a plan to learn how he does it. When they approach him they realize that ReRe looks just like the prince. So they decide to switch places so ReRe can learn about the easy life and the prince can live a tough life as research for a movie he wants to star in. This is an age old story told in a fun interesting way.
Another fun graphic novel in The Racc Pack series. When the Binns family go to the pet expo they see a very familiar looking raccoon being pampered and want in on it. Prince and Dusty trade places and they both find out that the garbage and/or fame and riches aren't for them. A cute story that reminds us the grass isn't alway greener on the other side. And nothing is better than family.
Keep writing them and I'll keep reading them. These are the cutest middle grade graphic novels and yes I absolutely buy them for my high school library.
