I received an advanced reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley.
I love the concept of this book – sharing anonymous love letter from all around the world.
However, I couldn't really connect with them. I could relate to some of them and really enjoyed reading them, but overall I found myself fighting to stay focused page after page.
I still think it's a beautiful idea and a tribute to these people and their loved ones.
Dear Love is a collection of 52 letters from people around the world, each exploring different sides of love. While the concept is beautiful, I found the book to be a mixed bag. Some letters resonated, offering heartfelt moments, while others were less memorable. That said, it turned out to be the perfect palate cleanser between my long fantasy read. Its structure made it easy to dip in and out of. My absolute favorite letter was the one about the bookstore and books-no surprises there!
Overall, while Dear Love may not have been groundbreaking, it was a charming detour into the universal and diverse experiences of love.
I feel bad only giving 2 stars because it was closer to a 2.5 for sure. I didn't hate it - the idea behind anonymous letters collected was brilliant. The cohesiveness of the book is where I kind of lost focus. It was difficult to sit and read through it all. I found myself getting distracted with how different each page was. Again, the idea was impeccable but the execution was a stretch. Thank you Netgalley and Central Avenue Publishing for this ARC!

I’m not one to read poetry but for the new year, I wanted to try different books so I decided to start with this one. I loved the idea of anonymous love letters! Even though I didn’t connect with quite a few of them, I found them beautiful. My biggest issue was that there wasn’t any clear separation from one poem to the next, so it was really hard to tell when one poem ended and the other began.
ARC Review! Thank you NetGalley for sending me this arc in exchange for an honest review.
The English lover in me is thriving. Each letter capturing such depth and feeling. I loved how it tapped into universal emotions so elegantly. As someone who enjoys breaking down prose like this, I found myself savoring every word and nuance.
I was intrigued at the idea of sharing anonymous love letters. I enjoyed reading the different letters. Although there were some that I couldn't relate to, I was still interested. I also liked that the letters were separated by sections.
*Thank you, NetGalley, for providing an arc in exchange for an honest review.*
I really enjoyed the prose in this book! Every letter felt human and expressed raw emotions, the desire and cherish sections were my personal favorite!
la verdad es que no me gusta demasiado cuando los versos ocupan toda la página, cosa que sucede acá. No me deja disfrutar la lectura. Y que fuera en formato cartas/diario, tampoco ayuda
