Unfortunate inconvenience, that is the way Piper describes her encounter with Mason Dashel. From the minute the alpha male interrupts her morning after hangover on the airplane, she can’t stand to be near the egotistical maniac with a booming voice and annoying sex appeal. But to her misfortune she finds herself not only having to spend time with him at their best friends’ wedding but she also can’t seem to shake the infuriating man in her everyday life.

Psychotic Una-bomber with the constant mensies is the way Mason describes his flying companion, Piper Shores. After a horrific break up with his now ex, Brooke, he finds himself being engulfed by the temperamental red head that just so happens to be the maid of honor to one of his best friends, Lexi. Even though she grates on his every nerve, he can’t help but want a piece of her.

The two are like oil and water, a science experiment ready to explode any second but they can’t help but be drawn to each other. The only problem is… there are other people they are involved with who not only prevent Mason and Piper from being together, but interrupt any chance they have at making a relationship work.

When I was in high school I occasionally read books but was consumed by other teenage things so I didn't take the time to appreciate a good book on a cloudy day, wrapped up in a blanket on the couch. It wasn't until I received a Kindle for Christmas one year that my world completely flipped upside down. When looking for books I came across the Contemporary Romance genre and was sold and I haven't turned back since.

You can either find my head buried in my Kindle, listening to inspiring heart ripping music or typing away on the computer twisting and turning the lives of my characters while driving my readers crazy with anticipation.

I currently reside in beautiful Colorado Springs where the sun is always shining and there is a trail waiting to be hiked on every corner. I share a lovely and warm home with the love of my life and my five, four-legged children.

So much sexual tension I thought I was going to combust!

Mason is a broken man who was pushed aside by his fiance, Brooke, so she could pursue her "dreams" of singing. Brooke is a total joke, completely laughable which you don't expect given the fact that she was more level headed in the first book but the bitter green jealousy bug nips her in the ass because she can't take the fact that Mason has football. There is a screw loose in her head.

Anyway...Mason became a walking man whore where nothing in his life mattered...until he meets the "psychotic" red head on the airplane. Her smart mouth, drooling and abundance of puke really gets him going...odd but to each their own...right?

Piper wants nothing to do with Mason even though she can't stop looking at his muscular build, unruly facial scruff and his deep brown eyes. After gaining a little bit of revenge from his public display of her drooling, she thought she finally rid herself of the oh so great Mason Dashel but hell...she was wrong. She finds that Mason loves to frequent the bar she works at in Denver with his teammate, Ryker.

The two running backs for the Denver Stallions, not only grate her nerves on an almost nightly basis but they get Piper to actually go out with Mason the only problem is...Piper is practically in love with another man!

Yup you read that right...can we say LOVE TRIANGLE!!! And holy hell, talk about angst. Will she be with Jax? Will she be with Mason? Will Mason get back with Brooke? Who is screwing who? Who knows!!!!

The book is in multiple POV's and not only follows the crazy love...square...of Piper, Mason, Jax and Brooke but you also find out about Piper's best friend Hannah and her little relationship with Todd, her boyfriend, and Ryker, her admirer. Soo...there is a mini love triangle in a giant love square that will tear your heart apart, make you sweat and scream at the same time...and not in a good way.

OH and if you were wondering...yes, JAKE AND LEXI make several appearances so you get to see where they are after a couple of years. God, I love them.

Double Coverage will make you laugh, scream, pull your hair out and leave you breathless as you try to get in the characters' heads to figure out what the hell their problems are!!

Holy Hell!

What did I just read?

I did not see these turn of events happening....I feel like nothing was accomplished in this apart from tearing my heart out yet again!!!

UPDATE:

description

Holy Hell!

What did I just read?

I did not see these turn of events happening....I feel like nothing was accomplished in this apart from tearing my heart out yet again!!!

Things certainly took a turn for the worse!

I mean who knew that Quinn could pull this kind of stunt out of the bag......oh wait....we did!

She certainly has a knack for messing with you heads and our hearts, we should of learnt out lesson, but its were glutton for punishment, we thrive on the heartache and schemes that Quinn comes up with, well I know I certainly do.

We briefly met Mason & his girlfriend Brooke in Fair Catch , then the next thing we know Mason is boarding a plane and having a slanging match on the phone to said girlfriend.

Mason & Brooke are a fiery pair when together, but the banter between them is GREAT!

He smirked at her. "I'm just trying to find the magnet that was attached to me without my knowledge." "Magnet?" "You know, the bitch magnet because those are the only women that seem to be near me in my life." Piper rolled her eyes under her sunglasses and grabbed the barf bag in front of her, just in case things got crazy. "You are such a tool bag, you know that?" "Just calling it like I see it. You must be the spawn of the devil. You have the hair for it," he said, while tugging a lose strand. "Touch me again and lose your hand." "Oh, I see. You have the menses right now."

Looks like trouble in paradise, whilst this is happening poor Piper is nursing a major hangover whilst on her flight to see her "home-girl" Lexi in preparation for her wedding!!!!!

I didn't think we would a more sexier couple than Jake & Lexi, BUT in walk the feisty red-head and the Denver stallion that is "hung" like a donkey (Ryker's words not mine)

Piper has a hard time with dominant men and wants to steer clear of Mason and his pure alpha-ness, but she feels some sort of pull and wants nothing more than to take a ride on the wild side...

"This is where you belong Piper, in my place, in my bed, in my arms."

BUTTTT

In swoons the sexy coach....Jax!

No this is another freaking hot character, that I would love nothing more that to have my wicked way with

This guy has been through so much turmoil, it surprises me he keeps going back....he's such a sweet, loving & caring character, and I'm betting we've only just seen the beginning of this character.

Piper, Mason & Jax all form the ever so hot triangle in this battle of the sexs....

"Leave him, baby. Be with me. I need you more. I can't even describe to you how you've changed my life. I didn't think a sassy redhead was going to make me feel alive again. After Brooke left me, I didn't think I would ever feel again; I was completely numb, but then I met you and slowly, but surely, feeling started to tingle back into my body. You are an addiction, baby...my addiction and there is no way I want to kick the habit. You're it. Be with me, be brave and be with me."

And holy hell, talk about angst. Will she be with Jax? Will she be with Mason? Will Mason get back with Brooke? Who is screwing who? Who FRICKING knows!!!!

He wanted to be as close to her as he could get, for the rest of his life. This was it for him. He wanted no one else. Piper owned him.

but wait...Quinn couldn't leave it just there no.....

she throws in a 4 way triangle...with whom you say....

lets see we have:

Hannah loves Todd, Ryker lovers Hannah, Ashlin loves Ryker and Todd loves.......well that's the ultimate question?? and I don't want to be giving that sort of information away no do I?

Sounds like something you want to sink your teeth into?

Then you need to start at the beginning where all these shenanigans started...you need to get your hands on Fair Catch

My star rating for 'Double Coverage' is 4 out of 5 stars! :)

My ‘Blogging Reader’s Review’ after reading an ARC copy of ‘DOUBLE COVERAGE’(Love and Sports series book #2) by Author Meghan Quinn (via: Booksmoviesfandoms.wordpress.com):

I was thrilled to be invited to read and review the ARC early-copy of the second novel of the ‘Love and Sports Series’ by Meghan Quinn titled ‘Double Coverage’ because I loved the first novel so much. First off I have to say the end of this novel left me saying, “Wow, just wow!” This story definitely takes you on a whirlwind of emotions because of the roller coaster these characters go on while dealing with feelings and the relationships they are involved in. As with the first novel, you will also get this story in multiple P.O.V’s, eight P.O.V.’s to be exact from: Piper, Mason, Lexi, Jake, Jax, Ryker, Hannah and Brooke.

On a flight to see her long time friend Lexi’s special day, red-haired beauty Piper Shores, had no clue how an obnoxious hot guy she meets on the flight would become more than she expected. After an eventful weekend of wedded bliss and new acquaintances, Piper gets back to her life as a waitress at a local Denver sports bar with her co-worker and friend Hannah. She becomes intertwined in an unexpected relationship with a sweet-loving southern guy named Jax, who she starts to fall for quickly. But Mason, with his alpha-male persona, seems to make her feel strong confusing emotions and won’t stop pursuing her once he realized that she makes him feel alive again.

Mason is Jake’s best friend and a professional football player in Denver. He met a female who was dressed with a hoodie and sun-shades, on his flight to be the best man in a wedding. After meeting Piper, he comes to the conclusion that she is rude but one sexy woman. Mason likes how Piper seems to make him feel alive again after having had his heart ripped out by his ex-fiance Brooke. Even though it takes him a little time to finally realize that Piper is who he wants, he has to deal with the fact that he might not be able to completely have her. But the one thing about Mason, is that he is determined to make Piper his.

Then, you have Hannah, Piper’s co-worker and friend. She’s sweet, nice and a good-girl who is dating a guy who she sees when he’s not away for business. Once she meets Ryker, Masons teammate and friend, he begins to never stop letting Hannah know that he’s interested in her. She is determined to wait faithfully for her boyfriend Todd, for the day that he’ll propose to her. Ryker on the other hand, is determined to make Hannah see that she should be his and until then, he offers her friendship.

In ‘Double Coverage’ you’ll get a chance to get to know all of the characters well. We get to experience the relationships as they blossom and we witness some as they are destroyed. As the reader, you’ll sometimes feel at odds about which people belong together. These characters seem so realistic because of their imperfections, their emotional turmoil and the choices they make while trying to figure out what they truly want. And let me warn you…there are many moments of hot interactions, filled with body on body, steaminess that will leave you breathless and make your toes curl.

Will Piper stay with her safe and sweet boyfriend Jax or will she follow her strong feelings for the hot-alpha-male Mason? Can Hannah stay happy waiting for Todd or will Ryker’s persistence pay off and win Hannah over? Find out where Brooke and a hot model named Ashlin fit into the equation. I recommend this book because it’s from a great new series and the characters of the the story keep you interested in seeing where the story will take each of them. The ending is left good and ready for the follow-up novel of this series! Check this one out for sure.

My Blogging Reader's Star Rating for 'DOUBLE COVERAGE' is: 4 out of 5 stars! :)

Not having read the previous book in the Love and Sports series, nor any other book by Ms. Quinn, I had no idea what to expect when I first started turning the pages of this book. What I got was an unexpected rollercoaster ride full of larger than life characters, rapid-fire dialogue, and enough sizzling sexual tension to burn an entire city!

From their first meeting full of sarcasm and insults Piper and Mason form an unbreakable connection. Their journey from friends to something more doesn't go smoothly though as Piper hates domineering men but finds herself drawn to the sexy and very Alpha football player. Mason is still reeling from being dumped by his spoiled and slightly delusional fiancée Brooke and has closed himself off from happiness. He's become cold and calculating because of his loss, but around Piper he feels energized and wants to be a better man, if he can just win her over. There's a huge roadblock to their becoming more than friends though and his name is Jax. Jax is a truly nice guy who's recovering from the death of his wife and is drawn to the energy and embracement of life Piper exudes. He's supportive of her and is the complete opposite of Mason, but I can understand Piper being drawn to him too as he's safe. Mason is a challenge, he fires her blood and libido and even their banter sizzles with sexual tension. Ms. Quinn has crafted a love triangle that's believable and keeps you guessing as both men are mouthwatering.

Along with this main love triangle comes an additional cast of compelling characters with issues of the heart weighing on them too. Mason's ex has returned and is determined to win him back in a pathetic and needy plan that makes her look desperate. She sees Piper as the enemy and uses her womanly wiles and cattiness in an attempt to reclaim Mason and eliminate Piper along the way by any means. Along with the intense love triangle of Piper/Mason/Jax, there's the sweetly sensual romance between good girl Hannah and reformed (since seeing Hannah) playboy Ryker. Hannah has a boyfriend of her own though who she continually expects to marry, but his devotion to work leaves her disappointed and drawn to the fun-loving and charming Ryker. Hannah's kindhearted and deserves better than her ho-hum boyfriend and I see Ryker as her savior from what will be a lifetime of disappointment. Ryker is charming, witty, and truly enamored of Hannah as to become tongue-tied. Seeing them together brought a smile to my face. Their romance is lovely to watch and adds an extra layer of entertainment to an already engaging and emotionally compelling read.

From start to finish I was on the edge of my seat watching Ms. Quinn's talent in juggling so many different storylines. In her role of magician author she crafted romances that were hot with sexual tension oozing from every page and it kept me fully immersed in each character's outcome as all were worthy of a HEA, except for the annoying Brooke. The dialogue was witty and showed off each character's unique personality as well as being funny and sexy. Along with the compelling romances were vivid depictions of a day in the life of a football player which added an extra depth to both Mason and Ryker as we see them interacting amidst the manly world of football. This was an addictive tale that now has me clamoring to read the previous book and counting down the days until the next installment in this cleverly crafted sports-themed series!

I thought I knew what to expect when I started reading this book. After all it was my fifth novel by Meghan Quinn, and the second in a series. But no, she took all of my expectations and turned them upside down (in a good way). It just goes to show Meghan can out do herself with each book. She manages to find a way to both do new things and yet maintain the essence of her story.

It wasn't Lexi and Jake that initially caught my eye, but Mason and Piper going at it on the plane. It wasn't until I read Fair Catch that I realized the Mason in that book was the same disgruntled Mason I'd met in the excerpt from Double Coverage. Mason was the man. I really liked him, especially in the beginning. I was excited when I realized he'd found Piper and she was into him too. I initially thought Piper was a bad-ass but all that changed once Piper and Mason entered each other's lives again. However, they had to find a way to mess that all up. I liked them together, but they weren't good for each other. I mean Piper went from this secure woman to one who was in love with two men and unable to commit to either. Then you had Mason who was good man but something Piper made him lose sight of that. Jax was an interesting addition to the mix, as were Brooke, Lexi, Jake, Ryker, and Hannah.

I'm sure you're wondering what it is about the book I enjoyed, especially if the character's changed significantly as the story progressed. I really liked how the story kept me on my toes. There was very little I could predict. I could tell you what I wanted to happen, but there was no guarantee it was going to happen. Everything was so over the top, it was really hard to stop reading. I did not like the fact the book ended on a cliffhanger, well more like two. I can't tell you how excited I am book three is out now. I'm not very happy to hear it'll be the last one in the series. I do hope it wraps up all the loose ends. I wouldn't be averse to a spin off series if it doesn't. I have a feeling it's only going to take me a couple of hours to read it. I read this one in a single sitting and less than three hours, and that's probably the way it's going to go with Three and Out.

Review:
Who would have known that a single flight and a friends wedding would change Piper and Mason’s life. They sure didn’t. Piper suffering from a massive hangover and is anything but pleasant to her flight companion Mason. Mason also pulls out his asshole card on the flight and does everything to make Piper uncomfortable. Neither of them could wait for the flight to be over, little did they know they would soon see each other again. They were both in their mutual friends wedding.

Mason had had a rough year. His long time girlfriend and fiance had dumped him, taking his heart with her. Since the break up Mason found himself in a black hole. Filling his time with drinking, one night stands, and of course his job football. He makes sure to keep everyone at arms length especially any woman so he never has to feel the way he did when Brooke left him again.

Once returning from the wedding and Piper trying to put the totally hot Mason out of her head she runs into a sweet, smooth southern man Jax. Jax pretty much sweeps Piper off of her feet and totally blindsides her. She wasn’t quite sure what she felt for him, but she knew he made her feel safe and cared for.

A few short weeks after the wedding Piper finds Mason sitting in the bar she works. She doesn’t know how to handle her still raging hormones when she looks at him, but she does know that he still pisses her off. She know wishes she would have just fucked Mason at the wedding and gotten him out of her system. She starts to find him being pleasant to her and he now wants to be “friends” but how can you be friends with someone you want to screw? And what about Jax, she loves him right?

Piper the strong willed redhead finds herself in a predicament she just doesn’t know how to get out of. She is in love with her boyfriend Jax, but has these feelings that she doesn’t want to put labels on for Mason. Jax makes Piper feel safe and loved. But Mason and Piper seem to have this pull to one another that she just can’t resist. She finds herself being pulled in two different directions and she doesn’t know what to do, or who to be with. Piper wants both men in her life, but as the saying is “you can’t have your cake and eat it to.” So what will Piper do? Who will Piper chose?

“How could two men feel so right to her?”
“Sometimes your heart can be torn in two. The real question that you need to ask yourself is, who can you live without?”

I absolutely LOVED this book and the wild, angsty ride it took me on. There are plenty of sexy times to make this book hot. But not only that Double Catch has such a great storyline it pulled me in and left me wanting way more! I’m still so torn on who I want Piper to be with in the end. And Meghan being Meghan left me wanting way more than what she wrote in this book. So come on Meghan where is book three!? Meghan Quinn has quickly worked her way up as one of my favorite authors. I love the way she writes multipule points of views in one book. I think that her writing style is way different from other authors and that sets her apart in my eyes. I can’t wait for more books from Meghan in the future.

What a train wreck!

I can't believe I persevered with this book. I truly wanted a train to run off the tracks into a bar and slice the cheater in half. Then I stop doing think about it. Here was this girl who met a guy at a seven eleven and thought she loved him. The "hero", Mason is the one who constantly tempted her, said he would be "friends" and was relentless in his pursuit of her. She was weak and cheated on what I consider to be one of the nicer characters, Jax.

Mason was a terrible person but felt validated in using Brooke to constantly threaten Piper. Piper was a weak character that apart from reading how beautiful she was, sassy, etc we don't really see anything redeeming about her. She is a so called free spirit. Meh.

The changing of POV's is like having an add break and coming back to a new scene without finishing the last, I found it annoying. The storyline based on Ryker and Hannah and her boyfriend was obvious and that character was another blight on females in this book - what a dumb mouse. I don't even think she knew who Todd was, where did he work, why didn't she investigate she just moped around waiting for him all the time.

Read this book if you like soap operas

Part 2

Piper and Mason’s story. Mason is Jake’s best friend from ‘Fair Catch’. Throughout college Brooke and Mason were in a committed relationship, however Brooke did not seem as invested in the relationship.

She somehow gets an idea of pursuing a singing career although she cannot carry a note...she breaks their engagement and shatters his heart.

True to type he reverts to mindless encounters to forget Brooke. Unbeknownst to him, his travel companion on the flight to Lexi and Jake’s wedding is none other than Lexi’s childhood friend and her matron of honour.

He takes a candid photo of her sleeping and posts it on social media for the world to see.

Preparing for the wedding, he sees his travel companion, Piper (aka Devil’s Spawn)...and Brooke, also part of the wedding party.

Piper begins to date, Jax...and soon enough Mason and Ryker show up in the bar she works at to slug a few more insults.

Hannah, Ryker, Ashlin and Piper, Mason, Jax and Brooke-this instalment was pure unadulterated whiplash, the love triangles, bed hopping, deceit, betrayal...drama.

Hypocrisy and double-standards, a common theme. Cliffhanger.

WARNING: SPOILERS

I'm giving this book 2 stars only because I wanted to be a little lenient since I only skimmed from the first time Piper slept with Mason until the confrontation of Hannah. I'm so mad. I was finally starting to be okay with the book being written in 3rd person, even though that had basically ruined Fair Catch for me. I was liking how the story telling was going and I loved Mason's character. However, I have NEVER hated a heroine more. I have read almost 50 romance novels this year and I can't believe how much I hate Piper. Why the cheating? Why does she have to be so annoying? Maybe I'm alone in this, but neither Jax nor Mason deserved that crap. Piper deserves to die alone. If it weren't for the Ryker and Hannah story line, I would have never finished the book.

Awesome.

I bought this book this morning having never read any of her previous books and WOW. I am now hooked. I just went back to Amazon to download the rest of her titles and cannot wait for more in this series.
I love how there is so much story and so many characters intertwined.
I literally couldn't put the book down .
I am usually stingy with my reviews but this book deserved it

Interesting writing in that the book told multiple love stories. At first it kind of gave me a headache, but then I got into it. This style wasn't the same in these book so it caught me off guard. This book (and its sequel) follow the love lives of Mason (from book 1) and a few others as well. Worth the read even though Mason and Piper's story annoyed the hell out of me at times!

Oh boy

Where do I begin?
Q. How many readers want to read a romance where the main couple (or what we expect to be, and find out there are 2 in this book) are having sex with others? Or supposed to be in love with 2 men? Or the men are getting aroused in body (but

not heart, mind?)
I call BS on this storyline.
First let’s talk about couple 1, Piper and Mason/Jax.
Never bought that Piper and Mason were in love, just lust.
Feel like Piper is screwed up in the personality department and immature. She would have gotten a slap upside her head from her best friend (and supposedly Mason’s) and told to stop messing with them and choose.
One of the worst unbelievably scenes was her visit to the football practice field. No way would any woman do that unless she was manipulating them and was cold.

Now Hannah and Ryker/Todd.
Lord above, Hannah character, there is no way on earth that a women that works at a huge sports bar in modern times would be that naive or not know what Todd was doing. Not to mention her friends wouldn’t have clued her in or Ryker (supposed to be in love) wouldn’t have searched him via internet. Where there is no way his company page wouldn’t have listed his marriage or family pictures somewhere.
Then like above couple someone from his past comes in and he gets hot and bothered and conflicted?
Didn’t believe anyone was anything but in lost, except for Mason’s ex.
Saying all this I’m torn about reading the next one. On one hand I love Ryker and want to see him end with his childhood friend. Also see how it raps up. On the other I got pissed at many parts of the book.
I hop the author doesn’t write her female leads like these two. Or wishy-washy overly dramatic women.

Ahhh!! This book drove me crazy!! We get to follow Mason and Pier as well as a sideline of Ryker and Hannah. Don’t forget throwing in Jax and Brooke as well as a dash of Lexi and Jake. Whew! The sexual tension in this book is off the charts but jeez these girls have got to get their priorities straight!! So many second-guesses and the indecisiveness drove me nuts. And we are left hanging...thankfully the next book is out. It’s a great read and makes you want to dig deeper into the story but you’ll also pull some hair out.

I really don’t know what to say. This is not the king of story I like reading but at least it’s kind of real. Love is not always rainbows and eternal happiness. I didn’t like Piper from the beginning and the way she handled all the situations was terrible. I didn’t see the appeal to her. Yes it was mentioned a lot she was stunning but love is not just looks and all these people are awfully shallow because looks are everything. She was nasty with Mason from the start. She was playing with two guys. She didn’t want Mason with another woman but never left her boyfriend. She was the worst.

What a love triangle x2! This brings back a bit of Jake and Lexi, along with the rest of the crew, Mason, Brooke and Ryker. It also introduces some new characters that sure know how to stir up some hearts. Especially Piper, who I have to say, made me super angry! I’m anxious to get to the next book to see how this drama all plays out...especially with Hannah and Todd too! This author knows how to write drama!
