Every girl in my building is an escort?
The news was nearly as shocking as being asked to take on a client. A hot, dominant, BDSM loving client, just like the guys in her favourite books.
“All you have to do is convince him you’re an inexperienced submissive wanting to explore the lifestyle, which you are. You have plenty of mind-blowing kinky action, collect a huge fee and walk away.” Sasha made it sound so simple, but the books warned that people new to the scene shouldn’t hook up, but the customer is always right, isn’t he?

This is a full-length novel in the Call girls series. It contains spanking, sensual massage, role play, rope play, a shy, body conscious submissive heroine and a seriously hot dominant hero who makes mistakes.

Emma is the #1 Amazon Bestselling Author of m/m series such as Paint, Incubus, and Lies.

Known as the Queen of MM angst her books include Sci-fi, paranormal, and contemporary romance and always puts her characters through hell before giving them a HEA. She blames her rebellious muse (who looks like Chris from the Paint Series) for the erotic aspects tickling the angst, and the humor cuddling up with the erotic.

When not writing or reading she herds Birman cats and sons; Both groups argue that the other is too large.

“Michael folded his shirt with care before getting into bed and put pyjamas on after they’d had sex. She could still dream about educating him. Just owning the naughty scrap of lace would help with the fantasy.”

Nineteen-year-old Sensible Sasha is all but betrothed to Milquetoast Michael.

She is, self-described, “depraved,” under her workaday student clothing, nursing a lingerie addiction that she hopes will raise a little . . . interest in Michael.

In a way, Sasha’s parents are more into Michael than she is. He’s an accountant from a wealthy family; they’re poor English farmers: Michael is paying Sasha’s college tuition. A little bit of Jane Austen in there, perhaps—sacrifice the daughter to save the family?

I don’t think it spoils anything to note that things evolve—or perhaps devolve—with Michael, and Sasha, with a little help from her friends finds her . . . calling.

Emma Jaye’s “Call Girls 1: The Beginning,” is a fast read. That it is a bit of a romp might be a little dissonant to American readers, but it bears pointing out that prostitution is legal in the UK. And there’s no compulsion here, just people having the sexual experiences they want to have. The British diction—and some vocabulary—creates the occasional hiccup, but nothing serious. Ditto for the few narrative loose ends and some minor proofreading issues.

Jaye has so far produced six books in this series—with another apparently in production.

If you’re up for a little fast, hot, action: your table is set!

I start reading this book without putting expectations on it, because is not my favorite genre, but have read other books from the author and wanted to give it a try. I really enjoyed the book a lot more than I expect.

It had its good and bad things. I didn’t really get too in touch with the main characters emotions, which bother me a lot, and also I don’t think either of them are particularly likable characters, most of all Sully, who I find a hard time caring about. Even though I didn’t liked them, the story was very interesting and whenever I put the book down, I kept going back to it in my mind, and end up reading it a lot faster than I intended.

What I liked about it was the educational element of it. I learn a few things reading the book. I loved how they made mistakes, it is unusual reading an unexperienced Dom and I liked it. I loved it. I also loved that none of the characters is perfect, they all have some flaw, which makes them more realistic. It had a nice steady pace. The plot is very interesting that made me be hooked on it, regardless of this not being one of my favorite genres. I liked it. Can’t really say I loved it but what I can say is that I do plan on keeping reading the next one in series. I think readers who prefer this kind of couple (M/F) and relationship (D/s) would definitely enjoy this one

Emma Jaye returns to her favourite theme of BDSM but this time with a difference as we meet two characters, Merissa and Sully, who are both new to this world. This approach succeeds very well as the couple struggle to overcome their troubles. The inability of the Dom in the relationship to control and care for Merissa shows the pitfalls that can occur, people can get physically hurt in this world and that’s a theme not always covered in this genre.

The characters are engaging and the story keeps the reader guessing what will happen next in the developing relationship between Dom and Sub. Jaye doesn’t just keep us entrenched in the erotica genre as humour and romance lighten the mood.

Another good entry in the Call Girls series.

Merissa (Call Girls #1) is a competently crafted erotic novel, but I do think it could have benefited from a bit more editing.

The overall plot: young shy grad student Merissa lives in a gorgeous flat at a ridiculously low price. Turns out there's a reason the price is so low: the landlady isn't only master of the house, she has another business on the side, and Merissa is drafted into servicing her clientele. BDSM with an attractive (and rich, of course. Why are these smoldering objects of female lust always loaded?) dominant male ensues. You can take it from there.

What takes place transpires at a leisurely pace, and I don't know if that's necessarily a bad thing: I saw it as more of a striptease, with the author taking this novice to naughtiness (and the reader, vicariously) down a kinky path that ultimately gets you where you want to go. I liked the fact that the heroine was not a classic stick figure, but had curves and body image issues. That made her more believable to me.

While a slow pace that builds to an...ahem...climax is not a bad thing, I do think that this story could have been improved by some judicious pruning. There are several things that are repeated a lot: for example, we are told Marissa is painfully shy on several occasions and that one of her friends has mad computer skills at least three times. This is a case where showing not telling would be more effective. There was a lot of head hopping taking place, too.

Also, there are many spelling errors...is this an overall problem with this genre? The last BDSM book (which was not as well written, by far) had the same problem. The most glaring to me was "When he opened her eyes, to her ointment, the passion has been restrained." I mean, there could have been ointment involved, given the context, but I think Emma Jaye meant to use the word "disappointment."

Those things aside, I liked the pacing of the book, and the characters felt more realistic to me than many books I've read in this genre. For example, Merissa's work as a grad student felt completely real, and the descriptions of the locations all seemed authentic. The sex scenes also worked for me, although I kind of wish they were a bit more explicate. The author likes to tease, as I said, and I like that, but for a sex novel, there has to be an ultimate pay off. In this case, a bit more of a graphic treatment eventually would made the build-up even more worth it.

I was given this book for free in exchange for an honest review. Overall, I give it a 3.5 out of 5.

Note: Since I read this, I have been told that a number of the typos (including the ointment!) have been corrected. That absolutely bumps my review up to a 4.

Merissa is a fairytale for grownups. I know, I know, not everyone’s fairytale includes BDSM.

It is a story about a girl in search for a prince. He arrives on a white horse (sports car) and sweeps her off her feet (literary, some ropes included). And you have the happy end any girl dreams of. You can get more sugary than this.
What makes this book special is that the two protagonists are also embarking in an adventure. They learn about themselves and BDSM in a progressive manner which is highly educational for the reader too.

More importantly this book disregard the hypocrisy of wishing only “the right things” like everybody else and let its characters follow their needs and desires with total disregard for any … . Feel those 3 points, after you read the book, with all the righteous junk the daily brainwash of mass-media feeds you.

Recommended read for educational purposes.

I'd have to say this book was very eye-opening. I don't know much at all about the BDSM world and reading those types of books isn't usually my cup of tea.

The story of Merissa is an in-depth, yet well written look at one girl's exploratory journey into her own secret desires. I had a little trouble connecting with the male lead, but I think that is perhaps because I don't have any submissive tendencies. It was obvious that he was exactly what Merissa needed, though. The intricate way in which the author described each "scene" wove a very clear mental picture so that there was no confusion on my part as to what was happening, even though I'm unfamiliar with the practices.

All in all, it was an entertaining story filled with excitement, fear, love and fulfillment. 4 stars.

This was a well written and informative insight into a world which for most, is taboo. I enjoyed the story and the pace was just right in terms of holding my interest. The characters were well formed and believable. Jaye pulls us into this unusual world with elegant prose and an emerging love story that delivers a HEA. Would read more from this author.

I was instantly pulled into the story of Merissa. She is the new girl in the building and everyone gets along, so one day at lunch together she learns of the escort business run there. She loves the idea because she so badly wants to be dominated, but is it right for her?
Finally deciding to give it a try she comes upon a guy that is learning the lifestyle like she is. Learning together can be interesting, fun and dangerous. Will Merissa find herself liking the lifestyle? You have to find out for yourself.
I absolutely loved the story and Emma Kate had me hooked from the beginning.
The narration completely bugged me because it sounded robotic, but I promise if you push through it then you are going to love the story

• Call Girls 2: Merissa
• Call Girls Series, Book 2

• By: Emma Jaye
• Narrated by: Rebecca Wynn

This is my first Emma Jaye book and will not be my last. She writes descriptively and her story draws you right in and holds your interest from the start to finish. There is a great storyline and character development. Lots of info about BDSM, including details of a D/s lifestyle and how they think. Sort of like BDSM fiction meets reality. Great job on the all the details, found it very informative. Thank you Emma Jaye for a hot and enlightening story. Looking forward reading more in this series.

I listened to the Audible Version of the book. Rebecca Wynn did a nice job with the narration. Thank you!!

Excellent read

What an amazingly well written book. It was completely different to what I expected after reading book 1 in the series. Great insight into some aspects of BDSM without it being too erotic. I can't wait to read more.

This was completely different from my usual read/listen as both Dom and sub are new to the scene. Usually the Dom has experience. It was refreshing. I would of preferred to have a male voice performing the Dom’s part as it was hard to take the character seriously with a woman voicing it. With that said Rebecca did a great job.

This is a very interesting story - heart felt and sexy with a look into the life of high class escorts and how some girls end up in this line of work. Its also an interesting take on learning about entering the world of BDSM from both Dom, sub and switch perspective.
Wonderful well rounded characters and a very very sexy kinky storyline!!!

I think that other reviewers have said enough about the story and characters so all I want to say is that I found it riveting. The story of Rissa and her Dom is a brilliant insight into the world of BDSM for beginners. Well crafted and, for me, a riveting read that has me totally hooked on the series. Having said that I'm off to begin the next one, can't wait.

I really like this series. It truly portrays the innocence of how girls get caught up in the world of escorting and runs with it. This story folllows Merissa on her exploration. Every word keeps the reader desiring more. Merissa wants to explore her submissive side. Using the escort business she works for, she is set up with a new Dom. The inexperienced Dom and sub relationship is a complete twist to most stories. It is unique and fun to follow. I hope to hear more from Merissa as she discovers herself.

Rebecca Wynn is easy to listen to. Ms Wynn narrates each character with a different tone to make the story flow smoothly. The narration was easy to follow and fun to listen to. The total experience of the book was enhanced by the narration.

A great story of a young girl called Merissa who while suffering with money worries she didn't see a way of making enough in the job she was doing to pay for her studies or even just to live.
In came Sasha O'Connor not only her good friend but also her landlady in the exclusive flats she lived in.
She had a proposition for Merissa one that at first glance was a certain no-no but as they talked Merissa saw this as a way out but could she pull it off.
A good mix of humour and hot, hot, steamy sex including BDSM.
A must read book /series in my opinion

Rissa and Sully are great. I can’t wait to keep listening to the rest of the series as I want to know what happens with the rest of the girls. Emma Jaye and Rebecca Wynn did not disappoint

I actually enjoyed this book. It's hardcore BDSM, which is always fun. But this book isn't stupid, like that ridiculous Fifty Shades of Grey. No, this book describes BDSM as it should be. Where the Dom actually protects, and cares for his Sub.

Fifty Shades is more about abuse, and mental illness. It's about BDSM gone wrong. This book describes how BDSM can be a good, healthy relationship. With immense pleasure, on both sides. In fact, it describes something called 'subspace', which is like a runner's high.

When the call-girl, Marissa first experienced subspace, she described it like the first time she tried marijuana. She was out of her mind, high as balls, as she was bound and fucked furiously. She was so baked on sex, that she hardly remembered what happened.

This book is about a plain, twenty-something woman, who works a shitty job at a call center. She gets together with some of her friends, and gets drunk on red wine. One of the friends suggests to Merissa that she turn tricks. Because, that's what friends are for.

Of course, Merissa doesn't want to be a whore. Not a street-walker, at least. But her friends explain the arrangement. It's a high-class call-girl type of deal. Their clients are super-rich guys who pay ten grand a session. And one of their new clients wants a fresh Sub. Someone who's not into the scene. A girl he can start fresh with, like a clean canvas.

Merissa is perfect for this client, because she's fucking clueless. She thinks she might want to try the Sub part out, but she's not sure. She meets up with the rich-guy client, and they have mad, passionate Dom/Sub sex, like they've been doing it for years.

This is the problem that I have with this book. It's said that neither Merissa, or her client, Sully, have had any experience with the BDSM scene. They're supposedly BDSM virgins, so to speak. So how the fuck do they just fall into the roles so easily? There's no struggle. No conflict about the inherent dangers of such a relationship.

That's one thing that Fifty Shades got right. At least there was some fucking conflict in that story. In this story, everything they do is just fucking awesome. Nipple clamps? Sure, that's just wonderful. A spanking? Oh, yes please, that's marvelous. Fuck that shit, goddamnit. Give me some struggle, some conflict and resolution. Is that too much to ask?

But no. Everything in this book is just happy-joy-joy fucking. And the rich fuck Sully asks the plain Merissa to marry him, of course. It's all just a girly fantasy. Well, except for the hardcore ass fucking. And the best line of this book: "he hit her g spot from inside her ass."

Seriously? He hit her g-spot from inside her ass? That's fucking awesome, and completely retarded.

I'm a sucker for Happily Ever Afters and therefore I kept looking for one in this book. The characters were lovable and fleshed out enough for me to wonder about their pasts or their futures. Now for the leading characters...

Graduate researcher Merissa Harrington stumbles upon a great pad at a good price. Too good. Turns out that the building is run by a high class call girl who only takes on special clients and hires just as carefully. Turns out that residents in the building are also just as carefully chosen. Guess who is the next person considered for the job of a call girl when a special case arises?

Yup.

Too shy to look into the BDSM lifestyle herself, Merissa takes on this special case because of the perks: temporary, exploratory BDSM with 8,000 pounds to boot and no strings attached. In fact, the client in question wants everything in private. So if all goes wrong, Merissa won't suffer disrepute. So, why not?

Unbeknownst to novice Dominant Sully McCrae, his sister is the one who actually hires Merissa so that whoever Sully encounters to deepen his knowledge and practice of BDSM certainly would not defame him to the press nor be digging for his money.

Although there are several strategic point-of-view perspectives, the book largely stays in Merissa's perspective. Because of this, I find some of Sully's actions and proclamation of love somewhat unbelievable. However, by the time I really got into the book and was invested in Merissa's feelings, I went along with the fantasy.

One other thing that really bugged me was the editing. Every overlooked proof distracted me from the story, pulled me from the fantasy, and it took me that much more energy to overcome the annoyance and plough forward to reach the ending. I've lost count of how many things popped up, such as "flash or clarity" when the author meant "flash of clarity" or "There dom/sub relationship for me" when author meant "The dom/sub relationship" etc. Although these references appeared near the middle of the book, I've lost count of how many early on before or later after. Given that every book has a few of these, I just couldn't ignore how many came up for me and I thought I should cite at least something for other readers who may also have their English teachers harping in their heads way beyond the primary school years.

Overall, I recommend this book for those interested in reading BDSM romance, because the scenes were descriptive and respectful of the lifestyle. Even though the author credits SuperBrat for the accuracy, the author definitely did a good job. :-)

Overall, a well written novel that is sure to delight fans of this scene. I believe it also acts as a good introduction to the genre, particularly as the main character is only beginning to explore the BDSM world for herself.

There will be some spoilers to follow.

The beats of the story are predictable, but that does not have to be a bad thing. After all, how you tell the stories is what makes them interesting. Still, I think the plot would benefit from at least one more twist or turn, particularly in the last act. And although the ending felt inevitable, I'm not sure I bought it. It seemed a little too easy, or not 'hard earned' enough.

Furthermore, I was never really rooting for Marissa and Sully to be together; perhaps in a world where sex is everything maybe they can work together. But perhaps I am one of the unenlightened. It could be the fact that we rarely see them interact in a non-sexual environment, or that we never see them tested by many of life's endless hurdles which leads me to the question of how indeed could they ever endure?

While the book mainly focuses on Merissa, there are several other supporting character call girls moving in and out of the background. This can be distracting at times, particularly in the book's opening when it seems difficult to keep track of all of the ladies. There may be a way for the author to lessen the amount of information provided for these characters, particularly as most of it does not become pertinent to the story. However, I understand that the author is weaving an overall narrative throughout a series of novels, and these supporting characters will spearhead their own stories. With that in mind, I admire the author for taking on such an admirable task.

The novel suffers from numerous typos, quite enough to turn this to a 3 star review, but personally I feel this is something that can be easily solved, and it would be unfair to let this weigh heavily against the book, as for the most part it is well written.

Lastly, I was also surprised at how funny this book was too. The author has a great sense of humour. Good job! I think there are some minimalist things the author can do to elevate this work further.

First, this book is a great intro for anyone curious about BDSM. The reader learns about the lifestyle as the characters do in the book, which was great for a reader like myself, who isn't that familiar.

Our heroine, or sub, in this case, is Merissa. Merissa is a shy graduate student who studies the life of some kind of mud bug. If that isn't thrilling enough, she spends her evenings at home drinking cheap wine, imagining what her classy roomies are up to. Lucky for her, they reveal their secret lifestyle pretty quickly, inviting her to join them as quasi-professional call girls who cater to unique clientele. Merissa is in, particularly when the first "job" is a sexy billionaire Dom who will introduce her to the lifestyle she thinks she is interested in.

Sounds like a win win situation. But then the plot thickens. Her "job" doesn't know she's being paid to become his sub and explore BDSM. He's also quite charming outside of the bedroom. Or dungeon, in this case.

This is a very steamy read, and a great introduction to BDSM erotica. Emma has a great writing style I've come to enjoy.

Personally, I love Emma's writing but the erotica (true erotica) in general can sometimes be light on plot and character development in an effort to cram in all the juicy sex scenes. Emma's novel is full of excellent writing and steamy scenes, but it didn't have the depth of romance I like. Another surprise to me: this book had more mechanical errors (clunky sentences, a few typos) than her other books, which caught me off guard but doesn't necessarily detract from the story.

Summary: Emma Jaye is a talented writer of erotica, and if you like the genre, you'll love her books. However, it is a little light on the traditional romantic connection between the main characters, which personally I look for in books. Overall a great read, and I recommend you give this author a try to see for yourself.

This is the continuation of Call Girls: The Beginning

We jump several years in the future, Sasha has a successful escort agency along with her childhood friend Missy.

She siscovers that the BDSM lifestyle has a strong pull on her but she lacks the ability to act on it. Realizing fantasy is not reality she is prepared to content herself with the stories on paper.

Sasha and Mistress Missy have other plans for her. They have hand picked her for Sully McCrae famous and rich construction Tycoon, and novice Dom looking to explore his darker urges. Hired by his sister to protect her brother from "Gold Diggers", and to keep these more deviant activities out of the press. Sully finds Merissa perfect and they agree to explore their urges, both of them having difficulties completely embracing their respective roles as Dom and sub. We follow them through their learning curve, and mistakes they make.

They struggle to keep their feelings out of it. Sully unaware of the arrangement his sister has orchestrated realizes after a particularly intense scene that his feelings for Merissa have changed. Decent read.

I enjoy BDSM books with a real plot line, and this one does not disappoint. Merissa is a graduate student with a boring job who gets enlisted to serve as a call girl for an upscale clientele. The money was enough to entice her, but she also secretly enjoyed the intriguing lifestyle. She is not the only character involved in the world of BDSM and sex for money. Her apartment building is actually run by a type of Madam, and the residents who live there are involved in a brothel lifestyle.
Merissa's client turns out to be a wealthy architect and although they come from different worlds, the erotica brings them together in a way that makes the sparks fly. The sex scenes aren't hardcore so this might be a nice introduction for those who might be intimidated by the genre. The plot can be slow paced at times, but I thought it was a nice way to build up the characters and the sex play. The story includes romance which elevates it beyond porn despite it's various themes of BDSM, three-ways, voyeurism, etc. Some might consider this more soft porn. I thought it was just right.

First, let me just say that I loved seeing characters from the previous book show up in this one. It was fun to see where Sasha and Missy are now.
This book follows the story of Merissa, a shy redhead with a secret desire to be dominated. After her friends admit to their involvement in the lifestyle, Rissa decides to give it a try, which is how she meets the super sexy Sully.
There is instant sizzle between these two as they begin to explore their long-suppressed desires and the BDSM scene together. But when Sully confesses to feeling possessive and a desire to make their relationship more permanent, Rissa finds herself struggling with the potential consequences. Attempting to drown her emotions in alcohol ends with a trip to the emergency room and some hard secrets rise to the surface.
This book goes a lot deeper into character development and the author's voice has really developed since the first story in this series. She's done a great job of setting up all the characters for future books.

Call Girls (Book 1) by Emma Jaye is a well-written book in the erotica genre. The main character, Merissa (Rissa), is a shy graduate student who reads BDSM books on the side. She learns that her apartment building is run by a high-end call girl. She is enticed and secretly interested in the lifestyle, enough so that when offered the chance to be a call girl for a wealthy client, Merissa takes the plunge, hoping that with the support of her friends, she can navigate this world. She quickly finds that being a sub is not that simple.

Rissa and Sully have instant chemistry. Their shared exploration of the BDSM Dom/Sub relationship is explored with sensitivity. The story addresses the complicated feelings, romantic entanglements and how the depth of sexual/emotional charge can be confusing and confounding.

This story has a romantic component, which for me, made the story much better. Rissa and Sully each have their own emotional issues to process, which strengthened the plot and made it emotionally genuine.

Merissa had no idea what her neighbors did for a living. They slowly introduce her to the BDSM world by giving her "naughty" stories to read. Soon, Merissa is wondering what it would be like to find a man just like she reads about in these books that her friend gives her. Sully is a wealthy man who would like nothing better than to learn to become a Dom. Through a convoluted plan, Merissa and Sully meet and decide to try to learn on their own what it means to be part of a D/s relationship. They are also determined to keep the lines drawn on what their relationship is and what it isn't. This is just supposed to be sex, not love. We all know how that type of story goes, right? They make a LOT of mistakes. Luckily, Merissa's friends are there to help guide them and they eventually find their way. With this initial story in the series being this hot and well written, I can't wait to read the rest! Bravo, Ms. Jaye!
