Rate this book
When Reece Carter arrives in Iowa to make amends with his old best friend and the man who still holds his heart, he’s left blindsided by his reaction to Asher’s husband. Beautiful and mesmerizing, Sawyer captivates Reece instantly.

Sawyer has always known how much Reece had meant to Asher — the sanctity of such a first love is a precious thing. But nothing could have prepared him for his own immediate, electrifying sexual attraction to Reece when they finally meet, or Asher’s reaction to his shocking feelings.

And Asher, the only one who can connect the past with the present, now has to face his long buried love for Reece, his husband’s attraction that has shaken the foundation of their lives, and a second chance he never imagined he’d ever want or have.

The Rest is History is a sexy MMM romance about pushing the boundaries of marriage and finding the courage to embrace a new way to love.

I was drawn in by the cover model and the mmm blurb, I admit.
And looking at the cover model DID help, lol.
The story... Well. I skipped a bit through the soul crushing parts in the first chapters.. once the real story started I enjoyed myself, getting to know Reece, Sawyer and Asher.
But.
Although the MCs constantly reassured one another of their connection and love, it wasn't believable, because we didn't get to see how the emotional connection between the 3 of them came to be, we just got told that it was there. Because they loved each other SO SO MUCH FOR ETERNITY, right from the start, until forever.

Some things were repetitive (I think I'll scream if I have to read "there's no decorum between us" another time), the side characters were one dimensional and very stereotype-y (as were the MCs, now that I think about it.. they were basically saints, but dirty pigs during sex).
And a few things were strange (who feeds a 2 month old baby yoghurt??).
I won't even mention everything concerning Reece's father because OTT doesn't even cover the man's character and actions.

I enjoy well written sex scenes, but here I started to skip and skip A LOT. Cum felt like the 4th in their relationship during sex, with how much they did with it, urgh. In and out and in and out and mixed and.. you get the picture.

Nevertheless I'm rounding up to 3 stars because the author included political discussions about queer rights in the months before a US election in the plot, showing how right wing policies have an impact on queer people's lifes. It felt OTT, but from what we see in the news that's the new normal sadly.

This book filled me with such cozy love. The setting is my weakness, a cottage in the woods near a small town. Simple living🫶 Their love was unexpected to say the least. I didn’t see it coming from where it came. Love is mysterious and this love story proves just that. And at the same time the filthiest of filth that ever filthed🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵

JFC before they got together their fantasies were the hottest things. Jesus… Reece fucking himself thinking of Sawyer and Asher and Sawyer and Asher fucking thinking of Reece… so so goddamn hot.

“More, please, sir. Give me more”

🥵But after? Turn your AC and read inside an ice bath because the temperature is about to go lava level! We get each one of the married guys whispering in each other ear what to do to poor slutty hungry Reece… Just… HOT, wrong, but so so hot… jesus…A taste:

“I fuck into Reece wildly and forever, and then I’m letting go deep inside him, and when the last jerks of cum are squeezed out of me, I pull out slowly, sliding down his body quickly. Some of my cum is already dripping out of him. I push the string of white liquid back into his ass with my thumb, making sure my semen remains inside him as Asher moves between his thighs.
And then, Asher fucks him.
We are only men made of flesh and blood and not stone. Asher has only a few strokes in him before he’s filling Reece up again and Reece’s dick is in my mouth, deep inside my throat and he’s painting my vocal cords with his spunk.
I lift my head with Reece’s semen in my mouth. Asher drops his head to Reece’s hole and when he rises again, his lips are stained with our cum. It’s obscene and it’s beautiful. It’s what no decorum is. It’s what no shame is. It’s what we are.”🥵

Their relationship developed slowly, but very lust based. Its unrealistic and imperfect, but sometimes we read for the smut. and so i'm not going to analyze how their relationship should be more about feelings and less dick, because it's not that kind of book.At least not to me

Ok, I was not going to analyze and accept all but…. I can not leave unsaid that some big steps unfortunately weren’t on page, like Reece gaining confidence in his new job, how his friendship with Sawyer friendship evolved. And I will have to completely forget that Reece came to small town Iowa to find Asher always daydreaming of Asher and for 1 month all his thoughts are of Sawyer… would be better if he fantasized of both Asher and Sawyer. I felt that sometimes this build up was more about Sawyer and Reece and sometimes Asher was included… I would also like to mention here that Reece is a bit of a doormat, he only does what he is told... be it his father or Ash or Sawyer. At least these last ones are for his good. His relationship with his father is a joke… it irritates me to want to kill that prick levels…
“I hate this. I hate my father. I hate my own spinelessness. My stupidity for causing all of this. It’s all my fault.”
We get some “angst”moments about Sawyer's childhood, the all drama with Reece´s father that led to the separation and Reece´s daughter, but very superficially… not in a disrespectful way but in a distant way, it's there and its important but lets fuck the sadness away with hot treesomes designed by the devil himself. Again 🫡 Also, love when family are heyOK with EVERYTHING including a poly relationship with an ex lover 😉 as long as everyone is happy🌈
There’s loads of unnecessary drama… like meddling neighbors and coworkers ( trump supporters nonetheless) and a stupid af parent that should not have been allowed to procreate!

In the end we get 69% porn, 10% feelings that aren’t porny and 21% unnecessary drama… and this is a long ass book…. And so much sex and sex talk, good hole and so much snowballing JFC. There I’ve said it!

“And this is how it will always be. Us three, bare and raw and necessary. It can only be this way. We can exist only like this. The three of us. Always, the three of us.”

“It’s a privilege to be able to love like this, and to be loved like this in return.”

Jen did it again! The way she writes these beautiful characters never ceases to amaze me.

This is written like a slow strip tease. I kid you not… Sensual, warm and something you can’t keep your eyes off

This is the steamiest book of Jen’s to date. Steamy but at the same time so sweet because Jen writes the sweetest characters and for once this is low angst. As low as Jen can manage that is. Even if Jen says this isn’t as deep as her other books, it still has heart and heartbreak.
Most importantly it still feels like Jen. And Jen can write!!!

Asher and Reece are childhood friend and each others first love. Hopelessly in love at seventeen.
Circumstance, loss and heartbreak separate them and after a decade Reece reaches out to Asher who is now married to Sawyer, for support.
Their marriage is beautiful with no decorum between them.
When Sawyer finds himself immediately attracted to sweet Reece, and Asher still hasn’t forgotten how strongly he feels about Reece, they invite him into their marriages

These three are perfect together. The amount of understanding, love and passion between them is just beautiful and so seamless. And man does it steam up *fans self* 😮‍💨

And if you’re like me and MMM isn’t really your thing. I’m here to tell you that Jan, as I knew and told her even before I read it, would find a different angle to tell a MMM story.

Highly recommend.

Absolutely stunning.

I usually shy away from MMM but then again, there’s Jen Samson. She’s unique, her voice so authentic and passionate.

With the Rest is History Jen takes MMM to an entirely new level. This is how MMM is supposed to be written! With heart, all the feels and with a societal perspective and relevance.

Is it a steamy book? Yes! Definitely. I don’t Think I’ve ever read so much cum eating in my life. Did I cry during two—not one—sex scenes? Yes, I did! Because the intimacy, the acceptance and the selflessness of these three men was so beautiful and left me speechless.

I love love love all three MCs but Sawyer stole the show for me. His selflessness and acceptance. His honesty and “realness”. I don’t think I’ve ever fallen this hard for a protagonist and I wanted him to be real. Sexiest man ever written!

In fact, I want all three of them to be real. I want them to live and love and fuck and cry and curse out the injustice of this world. I can’t put into words how much I love their story. How beautiful and important it is.

Jen usually writes heartwrenching High-angst books but my God, does it suit her to write Low-angst. It was phenomenal and I read the book twice! I just couldn’t get enough.

Jen, when you told me that you were writing an MMM I said Fuck No! Because I hate that trope. There’s so much fetichization in general and awful, mindless sex in particular.

But of course you went and did it your way. And you blew me away. And isn’t it just ironic that my new favorite of your books is with a trope I dislike—and then you dedicated it to me, you silly, wonderful woman.

I love you and I’m so fucking proud of you!

“My husband is falling in love with you, and I never fell out of love with you."

Oh, Jen. You have wrote another masterpiece. I simply have no words. Other than thank you.

The Rest Is History is the first book in a LONG time to keep my interest and full attention even after taking a few days to read it. I think Jen may have just broke my reading slump. So again thank you.

Let me tell ya, when Jen first announced she wrote an MMM book. I was so excited just like other readers. Boy, she out did herself. I loved every single minute of reading Reece, Asher and Sawyer's story! The concept of this story and the way she told their story was so touching. It felt so safe and accepting. I seriously loved these three men so much. The way their connection became one was just so amazing. I don’t know what it was but these men just were so freaking right for each other. They blended so well with each other. They were true soulmates.

Maybe it was all of the tropes that this story had that made me love it so much. Maybe it was the characters. Maybe it was storyline. Maybe it was Jen's beautiful writing. Or maybe it was the combination of everything.

Okay enough rambling because I don't want to spoil anything. Y'all just read this. Read it now. Then thank Jen for writing this amazing story. And then thank me for the recommendation 🤭

I wish I had the right words to express how this book really made me feel, because words like 'emotional mess' and 'sobbing my heart out' aren't enough for what I just read. This... was a sentimental masterpiece. Jen wrote it with her soul before anything else and it showed. It felt right on so many levels. The way she expressed grief and how Reece when through it gradually with all his unresolved feelings towards Asher. The ways Reece and Sawyer got close felt so natural. God, I wish I could read this book over and over again without ending it.

This is gonna be my favorite book for October and nothing can change my mind about it. I hope Jen Samson never stops writing, no matter how tiring it gets along the way, with that beautiful mind and empathetic soul??? She delivers 300+ pages of pure gold for the heart!!!

You know you're in for a ride of a book, when the first chapter is heartbreaking (see trigger warnings), but also so beautifully written, you want to read on.

Reece Carter grew up next door to the love of his life. His dad is quite literally the most vile person. Buddy Carter makes Asher Cameron and his parents move out from next door, so his son cannot associate with them. Reece and Asher are seventeen and in love, believing that they were always and forever.
Asher is now married to Sawyer Reed and living in Iowa after being made to leave Arizona. Asher never really stopped loving Reece but also found love with Sawyer, who he loves equally.

“At sixteen, you breathe into his mouth in a kiss so tender it could make angels sigh that you are his forever and he is yours”.

Reece lives in Arizona under the control of his father, and married to Julie. Four months after a heartbreaking event, he divorces Julie and wants to see his best friend after many years apart. He calls Asher and plans to visit Iowa, much to his father’s dismay.
Once there he re-connects with Asher but also his husband Sawyer. They all become friends, but both Asher and Sawyer want more from Reece. They communicate well and decide to let Reece into their marriage. All three men have such chemistry and fit so perfectly together.

Jen Samson is a new to me author, and this has been such a wonderful book to read. The love i felt between the three main characters was so genuine, heartwarming and charismatic.
Sawyer is just such a gentle, caring man, he understands feelings and Reece and Asher so well.
Reece was a lost soul who had been manipulated by a man who should have cared for him.
Asher never really got over loosing Reece the first time around, and will keep him this time.
Buddy Carter is quite simply the worst character i have ever read, and never felt such hatred towards a character before, he is abhorrent, but that is down to how well Jen has written this book.

Reece, Asher and Sawyer just work. Please read this book.

‘The rest is history’ by Jen Samson **ARC**

Every time I read a book by Jen Samson, it sits with me, it makes me journey through some pretty complex emotions, has me thinking deeply. I have to let her books marinate for a bit before moving on to my next book and I love this process!

The rest is history is no different except that it’s MMM, a trope she has never done before, a trope I don’t gravitate towards easily (almost never).

Reece and Asher were deeply in love as teenagers. Reece’s father finds out about their relationship and breaks them up, he proceeds to ruin Asher’s family and their lives, Reece and Asher are unable to stay in touch. Many years later, Reece suffers a devastating loss, he decides to visit Asher, to seek comfort in him as a friend, also to find closure from the separation. Asher is now married to Sawyer a kind and considerate partner. Sawyer meets Reece and finds that he feels an instant pull towards him. Asher, Reece and Sawyer become deeply connected on every level..

It’s so refreshing to see open and mature communication between all the MC’s and how they use this to navigate a relationship so new, unfamiliar and surprising to them. There is a lot of spice but it is intimate and so beautifully expressed, and it hasn’t been inserted in there without thought, compassion or reason. Every scene matters, it’s so special. Their first time had me crying and sex scenes very rarely do that to me. Sawyer, Asher and Reece are real, their voices, their struggles and their challenges with life, love and loss is relatable because Jen created them with compassion and wrote this amazing book with characters who are genuine. I’m truly in awe.

I have always struggled to feel connected to characters in MMM books, often times the intimacy and emotions get lost. The rest is history isn’t that, it is authentic and it’s touching. It gives you characters who are selfless, generous with love and so accepting. This book really had my heart from the beginning.

@jen_samson_author you have made me experience MMM in such a different light. You've given it a fresh perspective and shown me it's possible to love MMM when it's done right.

I think this was really well done for a MMM. One of the issues I have with some MMM or MFM is convincing me that all the characters in this multiple pairing relationship loves one just as much as the other. Or that I love one pairing more than the other, but I truly feel that I love all these characters and that all are loved and needed by one one another. Now this is a new to me author, one I’ve never heard of. And I actually stumbled upon this book as a BookTok recommendation and oh, my fucking god! I have to read more of this author’s work b/c this was fucking amazing!

Reece and Asher
Childhood friends to lovers! They had each other’s firsts for everything! The notebook with their little notes to each other! Unfortunately they got torn about by Reece’s homophobic father! And Ugh! I can’t stand this fuck for all the pain he has caused these two! What makes it sad is Ash wanted to stay and fight for Reece. I really felt the love these two had for each other. Even after all that time they were apart. Reading about these two was really heartbreaking and what Reece just recently endured? How shitty his father treats him and how nothing is ever good enough? My baby! Stay with Ash & Sawyer! They’re your family now I also have to note how Ash’s mom is the closest thing Reece has to a mother and as far as I’m concerned that woman is his mother! I mean, when they reunited….Oh, my fucking god! Stop! Their reunion was everything!

Asher and Sawyer
I absolutely adored them! Their marriage and the absolute love and devotion to each other is everything! I love their motto… There is no decorum between them. They are honest with each other about everything, no matter how hard and shameful it is. They don’t judge each other and will talk everything out. Sawyer is attracted to Ash’s ex-boyfriend and there is no yelling and screaming….how dare you betray me, but a simple let’s talk about it. That’s just everything to me. I just love that how the other feels is important to the other. And then the fact that Sawyer knows Ash has always loved Reece and is okay with Reece visiting Ash so those two can finally have the closure they never had. I love how selfless Sawyer is.

Sawyer and Reece
These two! The moment they laid eyes on each other….instant attraction! And the fact that Sawyer thought how come Ash never told him just how beautiful Reece was. The thing is it is hard to hate Sawyer, it’s literly impossible! I love how Reece’s mind went from Ash was mine first to if he had to lose Ash he is glad he lost him to Sawyer. I really enjoyed watching their relationship flourish. We have Reece buying him apple pies b/c he knows they’re Sawyer’s favorite and giving him extra food during lunch and the fact that Reece has no idea how much that touches Sawyer’s heart. And Oh, my god! When Sawyer fears Reece may leave him and that he’s not good enough for Reece. Stop it, boy! You are absolutely perfect! And Sawyer’s jealousy b/c they can’t be public about their relationship is so fucking cute!

Asher/Sawyer/Reece
I loved how everything developed in this MMM relationship. Everything was very believable to me. The conversations they had! There is no decorum between them which now applies to Reece too! I thought it was funny how Ash and Sawyer being nervous and didn’t know how to bring up that they wanted to open up their marriage to Reece. Because what if Reece said no, but what if he said yes? This could be such a wonderful thing and it enhances everything because of Sawyer and Reece’s attraction to each other and Ash and Sawyer still loving each other after all these years. And Reece needed Ash and Sawyer. He has had such a miserable life, being emotionally abused by his father. And with Ash and Sawyer he found a family. Those who actually love and care for him unconditionally. I loved how Reece was still awkward around them b/c he feels like he’s doing something wrong. It takes Reece awhile to be 100% comfortable around them. Reece seeking permission to kiss the other. Asking if this is okay. Reece wants a relationship with them both, but at the same time he feels like it’s too good to be true. I like how by the end he is more comfortable with the situation and he has a family!

Reece and Asher and Sawyer
PLEASE be aware that this summary/review is meant for my own purposes in order to help me recall this book and definitely has spoilers. It is in no way a reflection of what I think anyone else will like or want out of a book. It is simply a memory aid and a rough voice-to-text which is completely unedited/reviewed for errors. Read at your own discretion.

Reece and Asher met at 5 years old when Asher's family moved next-door. We find out later that they really weren't next-door neighbors but worked for Reese's father after his mother left. Asher's mom was his nanny. Asher and Reese became best friends and at 14 years old started to fall in love. By 17 they were committed but Reese's father found out and made them leave. He also managed to destroy Asher's college football scholarship and chance at the NFL. Recent Asher hadn't spoken in over 10 years. All Reese news of Asher is that he married his husband a few years before. Meanwhile, Reese married his good friend Julie who knew he was gay. She was going to leave and then got pregnant. The baby, Abigail, only lived 15 minutes. Julie then proceeded to ask for the divorce. The book starts with Reese being four months out from his daughter's death , selling his house and being at Lewin's. He decides he needs to see Asher for closure and because he just doesn't know who else to talk to about his daughter. He calls Asher and asks to come visit him. When he gets there he decides to stay in rural Iowa. Asher's husband Sawyer gets a job at the Wood lot where he works. The two become friends. Sawyer is intensely attracted to Reese and the feeling is mutual. Sawyer talks to Reese about it and they all get to know each other a bit better. Shortly thereafter, Asher and Sawyer decide to open up the marriage to Reese if he is a minimal. He is and the three start a relationship. They quickly all fall in love with each other and that part of things works out without really any kinks. The catch is that Reese's father finds out and starts to make trouble for Asher at the school where he is the physical education teacher and football coach. Reese's father eventually brings disciplinary action and ash is fired for a breach of morality. There is a lot of stuff about being true to yourself and your background. For example, Sawyer has younger twin sisters and one a single mom and the other is in jail. It takes him a while to tell Reese about it because he is ashamed. In the end, Ash gets a new job at the next town over school.

This book started out really promising. It was hard to read the first bit with Reese's sadness over his daughter's death. That part was very well written and could definitely be hard for some people to read. I also really liked that both Reese and Sawyer were appalled by their feelings for each other since Sawyer was married. Once that all came to light about halfway through the book things got pretty unbelievably smooth. It was hard to have buy-in to the second half of the book. The spicy scenes had a lot of potential but I didn't like the talking. It just didn't appeal to me. Even though this book was good, I feel like it could've been so much more

This was my first book from this author and I enjoyed it.
Like she said in the first pages, this is very low angst compared to her other books and I appreciated that.
Reece and Asher fell in love when they were teenagers and stayed together until Reece's dad, the villain of the story, found out and kicked Asher and his parents out of town, making them lose everything.
After eleven years, Asher is happily married with a wondeful man, Sawyer, while Reece has just divorced from Julie (a very lovely woman) after they lost thir newborn daughter 4 months before.

All the part about Reece's grief is beyond painful (but also very well written): he's basically alone in the world and he feels so lost that he decides to go visit his only friend, Asher, to talk to him about his baby girl. My heart broke when he finally could hug Asher's mom again: she was like a mother to him too and I loved that she could gave him support.

At first, Asher is torn between his desire to see his old friend and lover and his strong resolution to not hurt his husband in any way, but Sawyer will be he one to push for their meeting.

None of them could imagine that they all will fall in love with each other: I think that this part of the story is well developed, especially Sawyer and Reece bonding over their work and starting having feelings for each other.
Asher's fears of hurting Sawyer, Sawyer's hesitancy to admit he was attracted to Reece, Reece's sense of guilt over intruding their marriage, I loved all of those emotions, I think the author did a very great job portraying them.

The sex scenes are obviously very steamy, but it seemed to me that they fell into bed together too easily, their interactions were almost flawless, like they were having intimacy together for years.

What prevented me from giving a higher rate:
I understand that living with a bully severely influenced Reece, but I think he was too naive in and also that it was very immature of him .
And Sawyer, after 6 months he still .
I don't know, it seemed that their rule to not having secrets applied only in the bedroom.

I loved the 3 epilogues. Honestly, this was the kind of story I wish would be a part of a series to have the chance to meet these characters again.

Recommended.

This was a pretty disappointing book to me in the end. I really liked the relationship between the characters. However, I do think that the conflict was pretty half-baked and it didn’t need to be dragged out for that long only for it to be resolved with one quick conversation.

Gosh, I hate his father with a white hot fiery passion.
Ugh I hate that Reece thinks he can’t be strong and confident and a man and also cry and fall apart. That toxic masculinity bullshit is so awful.

One thing that’s just a little frustrating is the number of times they say or think that they’ll work out the details or they don’t have all of the intricacies figured out yet, but never actually say that out loud. Like they were supposed to have the “big conversation” around chapter 30, but still at chapter 36 I don’t feel like that happened other than them saying they want to be in a relationship and they’ll talk about the issues if they come up… like never did they discuss if it’s ok if they’re with each other separately. It’s still very much Sawyer and Asher as a unit, inviting Reece into their marriage, rather than an equal three way partnership as they thought they were describing it as. Reece has no security and if they don’t want it anymore he’s the one out on his ass.

Ch. 39- oofffff Pippin is pissing me the fuck off. How selfish can she be? She thinks she’s thinking about her child but goddamn she didn’t feed her baby for two days? I would take that baby from her. Three chances ago. Fuck!

Why the frick would Reece just reveal everything to his father? It feels lazy, like the author couldn’t think of a way to make a true conflict so she had the character just tell his dad he’s with two men and where he’s at so he’s probably going to show up and cause drama.

Turns out he caused more drama, but apparently it was sorted with just a quick conversation between Reece and his dad where he didn’t even really tell him off, or say how much he was a terrible father, or really say anything other than that his dad should leave. Pretty wild ending to me. Oh well, onto the next.

What would you do if your spouse offered you something that you never thought that you could have or even want? That's the situation that Asher finds himself in when his husband, Sawyer, meets his first love, Reece. As Reece so eloquently describes it: "This is the best f*cked-up sh*t I've ever encountered."

Asher and Reece were first loves, but that love was destroyed ten years ago and they were forced apart. Now, Reece has returned to apologize and make amends for the past. Asher is now a happily married man, and Reece has no desire to come between Asher and Sawyer. Reece can't deny his attraction to his ex's husband though, and Sawyer is instantly attracted to his husband's first love. There are no hard feelings here, but things definitely do get hard...just sayin'.

This story is sweet and extremely steamy. This is a MMM romance and there is plenty of sharing going on with these three. While the story itself is not angst filled, it does deal with the real life implications of a situation such as this, and I appreciated that this was depicted in an honest and true-to-life fashion. While everything isn't all sunshine and roses, that's the world we live in, and this story portrays that perfectly.

I liked all three of these characters and many of the secondary characters too. Although this story is, for the most part, a lighter/steamier read, I still found myself in tears more than once at the emotions that I felt. In the end, this book is about finding love in a most non-conventional way, and then finding the courage to stand up for the family that is created from that love.

Oh man, just from the beginning, this story was heartbreaking and I knew instantly it was going to be good. Reece’s father is a jerk, especially after the fact what he did to Ash snd him when they were younger and the fact he lost his kid the moment she was broke. His father had no empathy.

I loved how Sawyer and Reece connected when he decided to stay in Ohio. From the apple pies and making him a burrito, it was utterly sweet.

For some reason, when we meet Sawyer, I thought he would be more of the top in the relationship instead of Ashley, but the admission scene between Ash and Sawyer was perfection.

I fell in love the moment Reece got to hold Ezra for the first time. He needed that moment more than he even realized.

My god, Reece’s father is ridiculous. The fact he was trying to control his life even as a man and the things he said about him was so hurtful. I’m so happy he had his two guys to lean on. I love that when Sawyer’s past came tumbling forth that Reece did not look at him any different, not that I expected him to.

God, I loved this story so much and I’m so glad that the three of them got their happily ever after, especially the crap they definitely had to even go through. I love how Reece was able to find the confidence that’s always be inside of them and it was because of Sawyer and Ash he was able to find that.

ARC Review!
It’s obscene and it’s beautiful. It’s what no decorum is.

After Reece suffers a tragic loss he himself is lost and turns to Asher, his best friend and first love, who Reece hasn't talked to in year 11 years. They were ripped apart when they were 17 and Reece isn't even sure Asher would see him. Asher, who is now married, agrees to see Reece with encouragement from his husband. Sawyer knows Asher needs this.

I was unsure how this MMM romance would play out, yet Jen has written a beautiful, heartfelt MMM romance. The open communication between Reece, Asher, and Sawyer allows them to understand each other and what they want. I love the way Jen allows each pair to develop their own connection before any physical relationships happen. Then watching their bonds grow even more when Reece joins Asher and Sawyer, it feels like he should always be there.

This book with sweet, mushy and filthy all at the same time. Just read it, and you won't be disappointed.

While this is different from Jen's normal genre, her writing is still there and it is beautiful!

The author included in their note at the beginning of the book that this is their attempt at less angsty. Considering I sobbed my way through a good chunk of the story, I'm not sure I want to know what they consider true angst! The genuine emotions of these characters, both the pain and the hard-won hope, continually swept me away as the book progressed. That this would end up being a polyamory relationship is not obvious from the very beginning, and the progression of that relationship never took the path I expected. The external conflict, while completely realistic, also struck me by surprise (which, oddly enough, ended up feeling like a pretty solid twist). These three men have overcome a lot in their lives, making their nontraditional happily ever after that much more satisfying. This book is a solid stand-alone that I recommend to any reader, though I guess you should be prepared for either more or less angst than you're expecting, depending on your expectation level!

It was really good for 80% and I literally loved 60% I’d say. And let’s not forget it was smoking and nasty AF! 😋
Over all it was an emotional read for sure and I adored every MC. My only issue was there was literally no angst (the work issue was flat and while meaningful it didn’t play into the relationship) even when I was amping up for it towards the end. For some this would be fabulous and while I complain about 3rd act issues when I’m reading them.. I actually love them and want them many times.
Some ideas and thoughts were repetitive but wasn’t a huge issue. Some plot holes and unexplained stuff but really didn’t take away too much. Did have me scratching my head a bit tho.
In the end… I could see myself rereading this when I knew I was in the mood for low angst emotional hurt/comfort smut.

I love a good mmm story, and this had so much potential to be great, but it fell short. It was good but :
For someone who had loved Asher most of his life, it was so easy for Reece to be attracted to another(Asher's husband). I expected Asher's & Reece's reunion after years to let us in on how they still pined for each other and were really hung up on each other, but Reece's was getting busy with Sawyer.

I couldn't buy the love Asher claimed he had for Reece as much as how Sawyer felt for Reece.

The transition to a trouple was underwhelming. No angst, no charge, no thrill of doing something new & different.

At some point, I looked forward to just Sawyer & Reece's part as I felt they had better chemistry and story between them.

It was an okay read, though

Great book. Good writing. Buh I feel like there's no chemistry between 3 of them. Between sawyer and asher? Yes between sawyer and Reece?a little. But the 3 of them? Nope
Even asher and reece chemistry isn't there(felt awkward) the only time I feel chemistry between them is when they have sex and the cum play and I feel like there's no real love there, with all the "I always loved you and I love him" thing. I mean you can love 2 people buh theirs doesn't feel like it. And I feel like sawyer and reece are going to fall Inlove and divorce asher in the long run(lol) and pippin should just kick Carlos's ass out of her life omg. How small can the town be that they're all in each other's business?? To even calling a hearing on someone's private life?

Made me feel a bit depressed. The books starts with the sad event of Reece’s new born daughter dying. He calls Asher, the best friend and former lover that he hasn’t seen or contacted for years.

Asher and his family left after town, Reece’s father found out about their relationship. His plan for life changed but he’s happy with his lot and in love with his husband Sawyer.

I do love MMM books but there was just something about this one that didn’t do it for me. Reece came across as whiny and constantly depressed or demeaning himself. Sawyer and Asher sounded too alike, and they both babied Reece.

From the very first chapter this book will suck you in. Reece is everything and deserves the absolute world and watching things develop as ash and sawyer give him just that will have you feeling everything from heart ache to full on adoration! The spice is 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ and honestly the plot will have you sitting on the edge of your seat from beginning to end! If you are looking for your next five star read and love your Mac’s a little broken, second chances and watching amazing men find their way as they fall in love this book is for you❤️

This was such a beautiful story. I was sucked into the story and needing to know what would happen immediately. Reece was filled with such heartbreak and I just wanted to give him a hug. Asher and Sawyer were also great characters and just what Reece needed. These three went through a few ups and downs but everything worked out in the end and I loved the insight into their lives a few years later too! All in all this was an amazing and emotional book (definitely heed the trigger warnings) and I loved it!

I loved this journey to a throuple. It was not at all what I was expecting but it was so special. Sawyer, Asher and Reece are all so uniquely themselves and all fit together so perfectly.

I honestly don't know how to review this without spoilers. Childhood friends to lovers reunited but a confident married couple wanting to add this beautiful broken soul their relationship.

These 3 face the hard prejudices that some in middle America hold in regards to very small minded people who don't understand that love can look different than what you've been taught to leave.
