Steven Luna likes making things up on a daily basis. This biography, though factual, is one of those things. He's the author of the absurdly humorous Joe Vampire series for grown-ups, the heart-wrenchingly serious Songs from the Phenomenal Nothing for almost-grown-ups, and the magical realism tale Starfire and the Miracle Tree for readers of all ages. Simeon Croom and the Treasure Star, his new comedy-adventure series, is now available.
I'm in love with the Sparkly Mofo already. I do hope that he has a cameo at some point in the future. This was a perfect little appetizer before the main entrée. I can't wait to read the next full-fledged Joe Vampire adventure!
As a fan of the JOE VAMPIRE series, I was excited to hear Steven Luna had released a JOE short story. I’ve been a fan from the day I first started reading about Joe. I get him...he makes me laugh...and even though he can be rude and crude at times (okay, a lot!) I’d rather read about his Vampire life than any other chiseled chested or sparkly vampire out there (they know who they are…)
NIGHT FALLS gives us a small glimpse into Joe’s work and personal life, yet again, and we are reminded why he is the everyday Joe...or JOE VAMPIRE.
So, while you and I wait for the third book in the main series, check out JOE VAMPIRE: NIGHT FALLS for a reminder of why we loved the guy in the first place. Kind of like an cheap date night, of which I’m sure Joe would totally approve.
After reading 2/3 of the Joe Vampire books, this was a quick and funny short story to add to the characters I have already started to enjoy. Looking forward to reading the rest.
